Eve was half tempted to put in a few names Carr had missed, but thought that five minute list was enough to make her point. Glancing over at Bryan, she noticed he never said anything about his love life. He was nothing like Shane, a little more reserved. She had to appreciate the duo, they kind of completed eachother in a way.
She laughed as Bryan spoke. "What a horrible punishment, Carr. A new stalker."

Joel yawned and looked at his watch. "Hey, are you guys going to do anything interesting? Because if you don't, I'm going outside. It's sunny. Too beautiful to hang out inside," he said, raising his eyebrows at them.

Racehl greeted as who came in and drained her apple juice. "Ditto," She replied to Joel, glancing at the time. "Anyone wanna join me by the lake?" She asked, rising from the bench.

Carr snorted her laughter at Shane and came back with, "I express myself just fine, little buddy." She patted his head like she might a small dog's and said, "In honesty, if you'd asked me before snogging the umpteen other girls you've dated, I might have taken you up on that offer." She giggled slightly and added, "But I like vintage and you're... how to say politely... mass-produced." She grinned and stuck her tongue out at Eve.

"I'm with you, Joel," she said, but found she couldn't pry herself out from between the boys. "Apparently, I'm staying put," she amended and speared another sausage.

"Mass-produced?" he asked looked bemused. "I am the most original guy you can possibly find out there. I have the entire package. I'm handsome, tall, funny, nice--you can't find anyone or anything better than me. Why would you refuse me?"

"And now he's starting," laughed Bryan. "Oh boy."

Not taking the bait, Carr said, "I'm sure that little speech works on the girls you typically date, Shane, but I'm not swooning. You're going to have to try harder if you want to have a perfect batting score. I will forever be the blemish on your otherwise spotless record," she said, sticking her tongue out again.

Joel rolled his eyes at Shane. "I'm coming, I'm coming," he said to Rachel. "Anyone can come if you want to. But I totally understand if you want to stay here," he said to Shane, laughing. "Let's go," he said to Rachel, standing up and shuffling to the door.

"Oh, I take that as a challenge, Ms. Jones," said Shane. He had a determined look in his eyes. "See, I also happen to have charm and lots of it. You'll be weak at the knees when I begin to turn it on. Don't you worry." He smirked at her. He knew he could do it. He just had to try a bit harder just as she said and he would take her advice too.

"We'll join you in a bit," said Bryan to Joel. "Don't worry, mate, Shane just needs to finish up here, you know how he is."

Rachel followed his sluggish speed, tired from the long night before. They reached the main doors and stepped outside into the warm, springy-summer air, the sun almost blinding. "Beautiful," She muttered to herself, almost forgetting that Joel was there.

Joel nodded at Bryan. "I totally understand," he said, laughing. "Don't worry." He turned to Rachel and smiled. "Yes, it is," he nodded. "It's warm, too," he added. "Unnaturally warm, I like it," he chuckled.

"Okay, Shane," Carr said, her eyes twinkling with the idea of a challenge. "I'll play your game. Don't pull any stops. We'll see just how far your charm gets you," she said, stressing the word a little playfully. "I've got 5 Galleons that say you get about as far as a raindrop in the Sahara at high noon in August."

Cassie laughed. "We lead such boring lives," she said grinning. But she preferred to live a normal invisible life than a life were every single person was watching you. Talk about privacy peoples. "Yeah. We should. It's such a beautiful day." Cassie said, breathing in the air with a small smile.

She smiled as she saw Joel and Rachel coming over. "Hey."

"I think I will," said Shane. "You're just being stubborn now because you know that if you lose, I'll have proven you right. In fact, you've already begun to fall for my natural charm. I can tell. Bryan will back me up on this too. He knows everything.

"And although that last fact is true," said Bryan grinning, "I'd rather not say anything on the issue. It'll ruin the fun of it."

Rachel smiled and nodded, beginning to stroll toward the lake. When they arrived, she noticed Livvy and Alexis. "Hey!" She responded to the greeting, plopping down onto the grass.

Carr smiled and poked Bryan in the ribs with one finger. "I'm glad you're finding this so entertaining," she said. Her tone was sarcastic, but her smile told him that she did sort of like the fact--Carr was a born entertainer.

"Well, all-knowing Bryan, since you're so smart, how do you suggest Shane and I play the game? We'll need a third party to make up the rules, I think."

Alexis laughed. "You'd think," she said. "My two brothers and two sisters beg to differ," she chuckled. She saw her brother. "Speaking of one of my brothers, here he is now."

Joel smiled. "Hey, guys," he chuckled. He threw his arm around his sister. "How's everyone doing?" he asked, even though the two had left just before they did.

Alexis laughed. "I'm doing fine, little brother," she smiled. She was just minutes older than him, but she still liked to tease the youngest of her whole family. She sat down on the grass.

Joel sighed and sat down beside the girls. "Why am I always the only boy?" he chuckled.

She laughed at the siblings. "Oh, maybe because you're a bit feminine?" Rachel joked at Joel.

"Alright," said Bryan. "I accept." He rubbed his hands together excitedly. It seems had had been made the judge of this competition and he was going to have some fun with this. Definitely. "Well, the contest is to see if Shane can win you over," he replied. "He may do so using any method he can. Carr, you have to tell me if there are any changes in your feelings towards Shane. You don't have to say anything to him unless you want to. But sine I'll be making the rules and judging this, you'll have to report back to me."

"And is that all?" asked Shane. "Can I surprise snog her? You know, kiss her when she least expects it or something? She doesn't know what I'm missing and if she knew, she would change her mind."

"No, that is forbidden. You have to use natural charm and whatever else you've got. That's the whole bet--getting Carr to snog you."

Joel gasped. "I am not!" he said. He paused. "Okay, admittedly, I am the most feminine boy of my family. But that's not the point. I like...manly stuff!" he said defensively. "You know great ways to make a man's confidience go down really quickly," he joked.

"Joel, you aren't a man yet," Alexis pointed out, rolling her eyes.

"Hmm..." Carr said, thinking to herself. "Sounds reasonable enough," she contemplated.

"Now, say that, due to the unlikely alignment of the planets or some other fluke of nature, I do start to change my mind about Shane. What happens when I report that information to you? You report to Shane and tell him to step up his game because I'm turning into a target? Perhaps talk me into losing?" She was mostly teasing, but also wanted to make sure that Bryan could be an objective third party.

"That's what I'm her for," She replied to Joel with a slight smirk on her face. "Anywhooo," she began,"was I correct in hearing earlier that you girls were up for a swim? Cos I sure am."

Alexis smiled. "I am up for it, definately," she said. "Luckily I put on my swimsuit this morning," she smiled. "Do you guys want to go now?" he asked.

Joel smiled. "Yeah. Let's do this," he smiled.

"I won't report to Shane," said Bryan. "You'll have to tell him yourself. That's if you choose to. And if you don't tell him even after the bet ends, I'll be forced to tell him myself. Oh and we'll give Shane a week to change your mind about him." He smirked.

"A week!?" exclaimed Shane. He then nodded fairly. "Sounds fair enough. A week is more than enough time. Deal."

"I did too," Rachel replied to Alexis. "Great minds think alike." SHe began with unlacing her high-topped shoes, tossing them to the side.
