Carr was slightly amused by the fact that Shane acted as though he didn't know what a date was. She shook her head lightly and said, "That's the fun of a challenge, Champ. You choose when and where and what. To a certain extent, anyway," she added with a teasing smile.

"You know, it's funny," she said ruefully. "If you'd asked me out when we were fourteen, I'd have said yes and you could've saved yourself all this trouble. But, sadly, I'm almost eighteen and it's going to take a little more than your hotness factor to win me over."

OOC: I'll be home in about 30-40 minutes.

"Alright, I'll plan the date," said Shane with a nod. "This'll definitely be fun." He winked at her. Shane would make sure it was flawless and try to mix things up. He wasn't the sort of guy who was into that mushy stuff. He liked to have fun when he went out with girls.

And Carr spoke once more causing Shane to arc his eyebrow curiously. "If I had asked you out when you were fourteen?" he repeated. "What is that supposed to me?"

Joel quickly dried himself off and wondered around the lake, wishing he could be apart of something. And from the look on his sister's face, she felt that way, too. He smiled at her and wondered around the place, sitting down finally beside of some random person.

Alexis sighed and waved a hand toward her brother. They were used to having regular friends there: their other brothers and sisters. She sighed, the heat of the sun tanning her skin.

Carr shrugged and answered, "You're hot now, Shane, but you were hot then too. It's not as though you don't already know how attractive you are and I don't beat around the bush. But, when I was fourteen, all I wanted was hot. You're going to have to try a little harder, now."

She thought about it for a moment and decided to add, "And that was supposed to be a compliment even though it sort of sounded like I was saying you have no other good qualities than looks." She stuck her tongue out at him.

OOC: Sorry... My apartment complex is making me get rid of Jezros and I had to go over there and throw things...

Shane grinned while Carr complimented his looks. At least she admitted he was a god (that's what he interpreted as at any rate). "I take any and all compliments you have," said Shane. And he also didn't need her to tell him all he had was looks because Shane knew he had brains as well. He had gotten top marks in his O.W.L.s after all. He passed every single one with an O except for Divination and History of Magic. Both of those were useless subjects anyway so they didn't matter.

"So, back to this date," said Shane. "How about we head out on the weekend? I won't say where we're going. I like surprising girls. Seeing how they react is quite amusing." He already knew what he would do too for her.

"Out on the weekend," Carr said with a grin. "As in out of the castle and off the grounds? Sounds like there are quite a few places we could go to have fun. I like being surprised by boys. Seeing what they consider a surprise is quite amusing," she said, paraphrasing his own statement.

"So," she asked, "would you like to join me for dinner, Shane?"

"Yes!" said Shane. "I'm starving!" And even though it seemed Shane had been find a minute ago. He placed his hands over his rather flat (but fairly toned) stomach and rubbed it. He always acted like he hadn't eaten days when it came to food. It was amazing he ate as much as he did and hadn't become obese yet. People always wondered how he did it.

Carr hadn't been sure if Shane would be hungry already, especially since they'd been snacking since breakfast, but her eyes flashed an unreadable motion for a second and she grinned when he answered. Finally, someone with an appetite to match her own.

"Good answer," she said, laughing. "Now, are you ready for something unexpected?" she asked him and, without waiting for a response, hooked one hand at his elbow and started walking toward the castle.

"Ready for something unexpected?" he asked but he didn't have time to say anything more because Carr was already dragging him back inside. "And points for Carr," he grinned. "A girl who finally has an appetite. Thank Merlin, now I know I can feed you real food rather than bread and salad. I'll have none of that crap." He made a face.

Carr's eyes flashed playfully again as she looked up at Shane's face and said, "You're going to feed me? Is that right? I think just the thought of this weekend is getting to be more interesting."

In a way, Carr sort of wanted Shane to win their bet because, if he did, it would mean that everything had been perfect. Of course, if he lost, she sill won five galleons, so all's well.

"Course it is," he laughed. "You'll be squirming at night because you'll be so excited you can't wait." They entered the Entrance Hall and were almost at the Great Hall. Shane entered and ran over to the Gryffindor table. He seemed to have forgotten all else, including the fact that he still had no shirt on, except for the food. That was all that matter at the moment.

Carr hadn't realized that Shane was no longer next to her until she saw him sitting at the table already. She grinned and jogged to catch up with him. She gasped as she sat down and said, "Oh, mandarin chicken. The House Elves are making ethnic food tonight!"

She pulled a plate in front of her and scooped copious about of lo mein and beautiful, MSG-filled food onto it. "You know," she said, "I don't even care that I'll be hungry again by the time we get back to the dorm. I love Chinese food."

"I like all food," said Shane. He wasn't the least bit picky. Food was food and he ate it all. His plate was already filled with an assortment of the food they had tonight. He began stuffing it all in his mouth. He obviously approved of the cooking tonight.

"Something we agree on," Carr said with a small smile, bumping Shane's arm lightly with her elbow. Before long, all of the food on her plate had vanished and she was smacking her lips together a little noisily. Unladylike, perhaps, but Carr wasn't really into being too girlie. She planted both of her feet on the bench and, using one hand in the middle of the table to steady herself, leaned across three other students to grab a bowl of bread pudding with one hand. Precariously, she lowered herself into a squat on the bench and placed the bowl directly on her plate, intending on eating the whole thing.

"Ever had bread pudding before?" she asked Shane? It's like cinnamon rolls and milk in a bowl. Amazing stuff."

"Course I've had bread pudding!" said Shane. "Stuff is delicious!" He grinned and took some of the pudding himself. He had gone through two entire plates of food and it was miraculous he still had room for dessert.

Carr let Shane help himself to the bread pudding, but ate most of the entire bowl herself. It had been a long time since she'd had bread pudding that tasted even close to her father's version of the dessert.

She took a big gulp of brown ale from her goblet to finish her meal. She made a noise somewhere between a sigh and a groan and slid backward so that her back was on the stone floor and her legs were lying across the bench. She folded her hands over her stomach and said, "I think my stomach exploded and is leaking bread pudding into my blood stream..."

Shane laughed as he looked down at Carr on the floor. "Ate too much?" he asked her. "Well, the best way to get rid of that really is to sleep some. And when you wake up from the nap, get some exercise to get rid of some of the food and you'll bee good as new again." He grinned at her. "Although maybe you should get off the floor, it's not that clean."

"Good, thanks," Rachel replied with a grin, taking in the beautiful scenery, boys included. She took out her wand and, with a simple swish, conjured some lemonade and cups. After pouring herself a cup, she offered," Anyone want some?"

"Exercise bad," Carr mumbled, still clutching her stomach.

She made a face when Shane suggested that she get off the floor and moaned, "Can't mo-o-ove... Give me a few minutes to digest. Until then... I think I can handle whatever's on this floor because, at the moment, I don't think I can even bend at the waist..."

Shane laughed. He stood up, bent over and picked up Carr with great ease. "How about I take you back the common room since you seem immobile at the moment." He rolled his eyes at her. "Shouldn't have eaten so much, Carr."

Shane began walking out of the Great Hall holding Carr in his arms bridal style. Many people turned their head as they past. It was a rather odd sight when one thought about it. Here was Shane, shirtless, carrying Carr who was groaning out of the Great Hall.

"But... bread pudding," Carr said in an almost pleading voice.

She groaned again lightly when Shane picked her up from the floor, but didn't fight him. Instead she grinned a little sleepily and said, "This is sort of a ridiculous situation." She would have laughed if her stomach didn't hurt so badly. Fortunately, their destination was a fair walk away and, when they were half way there, Carr announced, "I can walk the rest of the way."

"You sure?" asked Shane. "I don't want you to start walking and then collapse on me halfway there. What would I say to the nurse? Can you imagine me trying to explain that? 'I'm sorry, ma'am, but Carr ate too much bread pudding and fainted when she tried to walk to her common room.'" He laughed and shook his head.

Carr chuckled as lightly as she could and said, "I'm sure you'd think of something... or she'd assume that I was drunk and you were lying to her so I wouldn't get in trouble." She grinned.

"But, really, I can walk the rest of the way," she said. "You can let me down."

Shane nodded and set Carr down carefully. He made sure she was firmly planted on her two fee before letting go of her shoulders. "You good?" he asked getting ready to catch her, just in case.

Carr smiled confidently, but still linked her arm through Shane's just in case. She figured if he was going to have free flirting permissions for the next week, the least she could do was take her own liberties.

"Tell me something about you, Shane," she said as she started walking again. She knew they'd already gone over a few things, but she wanted to know what sort of guy he was so she knew what to expect from him.
