I took a short break from reading books for univeristy the last two days and caught up with all the FFs I was reading. Anyone would like to spent more time in front of the computer? They're not exactly Snape-centric but still master pieces....

Welcome, Renate! I agree with you, Alan Rickman is definitely awesome in the role of Snape. I liked the character from just the book, but he definitely does bring something special to the part!!!! I can't imagine anyone else playing Snape but Alan.

The actors might make a difference. At least Thewlis affected the way I feel about Lupin. I mean am I a member of his fan club? Nope!
Likewise. I remember seeing pictures of the first HP-movie years before I had read the books. I also read about it and was like: don´t let that goth boy be Voldemort, I don´t want to slip to the Dark Side

And no, I didn´t go to the movies to see it then. I wanted to read the books first, but not yet then. A wise decision, this waiting makes me nuts. I ought to have waited until this summer

Fortunately, I can say that I read the books long before they even made the movies, I was fascinated by Snape even then. Of course, his book-appearance is not as attractive as AR, but only the Canon!Snape gives him the mysteriousness etc.

This is true! He actually looked sort of ugly in the drawings in the book, but then there was that aura of mystery about him. Who can resist either way?

You might not believe me, but I didn´t remember that goth boy, whose piccies I had seen years earlier, while finally reading the book. At least I don´t think so. But he was fascinating even so. And I´m so happy I didn´t know Rickman was born 1946 when I first saw the first movies. I mean it just might have affected the way I felt about him

Have you noticed, BTW, that Rickman´s Snape is a bit ... softer(?) than Snape in the books? He seems far more dangerous in the books. In the movies he´s almost funny ...

Whoa, I didn't realize Alan Rickman was that old! That is way older than Snape is in real life! What is he, 61! Wow, he doesn't even look that old.

I'm so glad it's almost time to take the sorting quiz, and I'll be glad when it's over! I'm either gonna end up in Slytherin (I hope!) or Ravenclaw, with my unique personality I don't see myself going anywhere else. And that's okay. I just wanna get it over with! The RP sounds like so much fun! I've always wanted to do that kind of thing. So, is anyone else here waiting to take the quiz, too, or have you all been sorted? (I know most of you have.) In any case, this is all going to be a major relief!!!! (Silly to stress, I know.) Ravenclaw is a really great house, I just prefer Slytherin. (For me, I think all the houses are fantastic and unique.)
