| Hey Bom, you are on my list of people to notify. I'm looking for advertisements for The Graveyard Gazette and I was going to go around letting people know about this that have graphic shops. Since you have one, you're more than willing to make an advert for the newspaper. Just click the graphic in my sig and it'll take you to the forum thread with all the instructions and you can post the graphic in there. I do plan on getting to the rest of my list, just not at the moment. Funerals tend to bog people down. |

| Oh how I hate internet verbiage. Why would you replace a three letter word for a five letter word that sounds like the sound a mallet makes whilst playing Whack-A-Mole? And pwn chaps my backside. Talk about promoting improper spelling. Eek. I squee in horror. |

| I always wondered about PWN. It puts me in mind of a game of chess. You place all your pawns around somebody until they are trapped. They're stuck in friend jail then. .
By the way - I love that phrase "Chaps my backside".

I´m quite used to the word by now ... I thought about paws. I thought people meant doing the thing cat does on all four with their paws when they are stroked and extremely content and purring. Pwn-> Pawn -> a cat patting a quilt or your leg (beware the claws ), that´s how I thought it was Quote:

| Oh, that made me laugh so hard. I never understood it either. I just accept it in PVP stuff as a person getting owned. But then, I never did quite get how that phrasing came about either. Ah, the beauties (or curses) of a living language. |

| I always thought glomp was an onomatopoeia. If you study the history of the English language, you'd be surprised how it was formed. The word 'knight' used to be spelled 'cnigt' and yes, like Monty Python says, k-ni-get was how it was pronounced. It's very interesting to trace a language and see where it comes from and where it's going. You learn how accents are formed and why we have silent letters and how words like bling-bling and wazzup come into play. It's very interesting. |

Ah, the beauties (or curses) of a living language. | So glomp would be almost the same as cling? At certain age people tend to make a code language of their own, in order the elder people not understanding it. I remember when I was working at a place where youth spent their time, and there was a programme on the telly which told something about graffities and rap scene and so on. The twelwe year old boys tried to make some noice to prevent this "auntie" hearing their secrets (which were probably becoming evident for their parents right then, if they were watching the same channel, lol!) But yeah, there´s both the beauty and the curse ... We would probably need a translator if we went far enough in time .... Either way. Quote:

If they wouldn´t have net, I´d probably spend all my time researching the history of words in all possible languages, even in some I cannot myself, when I´m taking care of their flowers while they´re abroad |
