Could that refer to Snape not wanting to play the part of Deatheater anymore? Also maybe he is tired of lying to Harry about something and he doesn't want to do it anymore. What do you think?

I thought he was making sure Snape was still checking up on Draco and that Snape thought it was useless as he was covering up Draco's plan. Of course my opinion is going to be very different to everyone else's as I believe Snape to be loyal to Voldemort.

I don't think JKR would create Snape as this complicated character and then just make him loyal to Voldemort... so I voted for Dumbledore. I think a lot of his loyalty lies in what happened to Lily, but I may be wrong. I just hope he doesn't die...

I agree Lily played apart in Snapes transformation to good guy. I believe that they were friends at hogwarts even though they tried to cover it up like in the court yard with James and the other Mauders when Lily tried to protect him. Snape didn't get mad at her for helping but he wanted to keep the others from knowing of their friendship so they wouldn't treat her differently.

Yeah, that makes most sense, but fairly, if that's true, then it could be just as possible that Harry turned him back to baddie...I dunno...

Do you think Snape treats Harry the way he does because he is hurt that Lily chose James instead of him? Harry does look like his father. Snape would be looking at the face of James all the time through Harry.

Yeah, I know if I was a dude I'd be ticked off if I got turned down by someone I loved then had to deal with her death and then have to see her offspring everyday which looks so much like the man that she picked that used to torment me. Poor Snape.

I think that Snape treats Harry that way because of a grudge against James that was carried on to Harry; I don't think it's because of Lily/James, but simply because of how James treated Snape.

That's exactly what I thought, actually, but I've always wondered how Lily felt about having to cover up a friendship- if there was one.

Do you think that in the final book Snape will be killed by Voldemort for refusing to kill Harry?

no i think Voldemort is adament that he himself should kill Harry by the way he went mental in the graveyard when Harry and Voldemorts wands were connected and when Harry escaped.

Good point Voldemort would go ballistic if Snape tried to kill Harry. What do you think that Snapes part will be in the final battle? Maybe he will in some way help Harry to defeat Voldemort. By fending off an attact from a deatheeater or something. Do you think he is as evil as JK wants everyone to believe?

In the final battle I thing Snape's going to play a major part. I don't really believe he is as bad as JK wants us to think. He will somehow be conected to Dumbledore, and he will as u said, in some way, help Harry to defeat Voldemort (:

No I don't really believe he's as evil as JK wants us to think, why? Well.. I cant really define for who he works, but I believe he works more to himself. If he really killed Dumbledore ( in which I dont believe, I believe he and Dumbledore had some kind of agreement) he killed him because he saw himself without a choice. It would have been Dumbledore's life, or his.

If he didn't kill him, the unbreakable vow would have done it. And even if there was no vow, the others DEs would have done it.
He killed him, he got away and he's alive.

That's right. I think that Snape's hate to Harry cause his father and what he was doing to Snape. James was treating Snape very badly.This is an enough reason for the great dislike between Sanpe and James.
Not sure...Hmmmmm, I don't think. What I believe is that Snape liked Lily but he didn't want to show that at the contrary, he showed her dislike. May be cause he don't want to be weak or may be cause he knows that James loves her.

No i dont think he was in love with Lily Evans as I believe he wasnt that interested in girls like tom riddle. I know he and Tom are different but I just think he and James and Lily were very much like Malfoy, Harry and Hermione. Dumbledore even said so in Philosophers stone. I really doubt he was in love with Lily as it sounds similar to the shippers who put Draco and Hermione together or Draco and Ginny and they were all wrong. Snape just reminds me too much of Lucius and as he and Snape get on I assume Snape has the same views as Lucius like blood purity.

Yeah I kinda believe with you, but I don't put the possibilitie completely away. He could feel something for her. Some kind of atraction, she was a very pretty woman. Maybe he was jealous of James, Sirius and Remus having all those girls scrawling by them..
But I agree when u say that Snape has the same views as Lucius, pure blood, dark magic.. so even if he did like Lilly, he wouldn't admit for several reasons.

I think that Snape did love Lily at least a little bit because she was the only female person (that I noticed) that showed him from the heart kindness. A little kindness goes a long way...

Snap isn't the best guy in HP, but he's kinda evil, and funny. Apart from killing DD, he's kinda a cool guy. But since he did, it's still hard to say if I like him or not...

but I think snape will die by taking a hit for harry. Kinda like leaping in the way of an avada kadabra or something from voldy

I used to think he'd do that, but not anymore. Even though it would be heroic and all, I just don't think he could do it, he's too selfish. And, it would be too predictable. I just don't think he'll be on Harry's or the Order's side in the end, he'll just be against Voldemort. But that's just my opinion.
