Now Karkaroff, if you would please illuminate me as to what we're to do?" asked Snape quickly. "We've spent far too much time here as it is, I fear we may be detected."

"The Dark Lord wishes for us to steal some of the badgers in this room," Karkaroff said matter-of-factly as he surveyed the creatures moving about on the floor.

Snape refused to let the other two know his confusion, but he was wondering what a man as powerful as his master wanted with badgers... he realised they must have some symbolism or power, but for the life of him he could not figure out what that may be...

"Yes, um, so are there certain badgers that the Dark Lord wishes us to steal, or do we just pick some ourselves?" Snape asked, trying to sound as if he was following the Dark Lord's plans, when in reality, he was clueless as to what they were going to be doing.

"The ones with red eyes... that's the only means of telling if they're the ones with the condition..." Draco replied, not realising the confusion Snape was clearly facing.

Snape glanced around the room and noticed that there were only 4 badgers with red eyes. "Is four going to be enough?" he asked, not knowing what condition Draco was talking about.

Draco looked at him as if he were mad. "Two would be enough of course... but imagine what we could do with four!"

Snape looked at Draco carefully. "Did the Dark Lord ask for two or four?" He didn't want to go against the Dark Lord's wishes, since the consequences would be dire.

"He did not give me a specific number, he just wants the ones with the red eyes."

Snape nodded curtly. "Very well then. Let's just try and catch the four with the red eyes," he said, knowing that the task was not going to be as easy as it sounded.

"Igor be careful!" shouted draco, "These things have venemous teeth!"

Igor turned to face Draco. "What makes you think I'm going to be the one to grab them? As the youngest, I think you should have that honor!" Igor snarled.

Draco frowned at Igor, and turned to Snape. "Well Snape is always looking for a way to prove himself worthy to the Dark Lord... let him..."

" I don't have to look for a way to prove myself worthy to the dark lord..." he growled, "but, since you two are procrastinating I will do this myself."

Snape stepped over to the first badger he saw with red eyes, but when he bent down to pick it up, it quickly disappeared. He looked towards Draco and Igor, who were looking at him strangely.

"Erm..did you forget the spell?" Draco asked innocently, but with a trace of a sneer in his tone.

"What spell?" Snape asked through gritted teeth. This mission was really starting to frustrate him, seeing as how he hadn't been informed on anything.

"Only the easiest spell ever. It's called accio and it goes like this." Draco lifted his wand hand, " ACCIO BADGER", and fell over as hundreds of badgers came zooming towards him.

Snape snickered. "I thought you said it was simple, Draco?"

Draco's cheeks flushed. "I'm only in 6th year, I can't know everything."

Snape smirked. "Obviously," he mused. He then turned to Karkaroff. "Igor, any plans?"

"Ummm," Nope. "What were your ideas Severus?"

Snape grumbled, wondering why he had to be the one in charge all the time. Carefully Snape pointed his wand at one of the red eyed badgers. "stupify" he said. He smiled up at Draco and Igor smugly when the badger stopped dead in his tracks. Then with a flourish of his wand, Snape said "stupify" and quickly stopped the other 3 badgers, frozen like statues.

"Well," said Snape and looked rather amused at Draco. "What would the young ..." he sneered, " ... Gentleman advice us to do next?"
