ARFC Announcement Thread


It is our pleasure to let you know that the Alan Rickman fan club [ARFC] has finally made it official! We hope to get this FC up and coming, and we’re counting on all of you to spread the Alan loving =]

On that very point, all ARFC activity will remain in Spinners’ End until further notice.

The sponsors for this club are Chris [Blackened] and Jan [evlpez].

We are super happy to announce that our SSFC co-president, Nessie (Squibby) has accepted the Co-presidency of the Alan Rickman fan club as well!

She has been working tirelessly on Alan's Biography for the ARFC, and is looking forward to posting it soon, so watch for that!

Jade is working on an application form for everyone who's interested in an office. She'll post here as soon as it's ready.

Huuuhuuu! We started an Alan Rickman Bio-Thread, check it out and you might see that some parts are still missing.

This is meant to be a Fan Club project. We could use YOUR help there. You don't have to go for the complete Biography text, just bits and pieces here and there would already be a great help. As an Extra Bonus, everyone who particpiated will of course be credited.

In addition to the new Biography thread Nessie posted, we've just issued a challenge to all Rickmaniacs in the Alan Rickman Audio Video Challenge!

Find the most audio and video clips of Alan online and you could WIN!!! Get all your friends looking. Better yet, get them JOINING THIS CLUB! Good luck, everyone!

We here at the ARFC are very proud to announce that Linda (Linda Black) is our new Events Coordinator so look out for things from her. They will be AMAZING!

The ARFC Audio/Video challenge has been extended to the end of the month, so get out there and google up some media links, guys!!

Also, we are still accepting applications for officers for the ARFC. Jade has revised the application questions, so have a look and apply; we are still in need of a News Officer and a Graphics Officer.

Change to Chat Threads in the Fan Forums

You may be a aware that the chat threads in, not only our fan club, but the others too, are slowing changing their name. They are not going to be "Chat" threads, but "Discussion" threads from now on.
There are other places on Snitch Seeker dedicated to letting you hang loose and chatter with other members and staff on the forum. This as you probably already know is The TP. Therefore we would like no pointless spam in the Discussion threads, but a place to talk about the very character or actor you are supporting.

Here's the official new rule about chat and discussion threads, effective immediately.

New Discussion/Chat Rules:

The purpose for the new rules is to let everyone know what is allowed and what is not. The chat threads in the fan clubs will be changed, if not already, to Discussion threads. The purpose of this is to discuss different things going on with the character/actor, since the fan club is after all about that character/actor. Chatting is still allowed but to a minimum. As long as everyone posts about their favorite character/actor, they can also talk to their friends.’

Presidents have the right to delete a post that does not contain something pertaining to the discussion at hand. So if you see your post was deleted, it was because the rules were not followed.

Minimum chatting is allowed as long as rules are followed. We, the Fan Club Mods, did not want to take it out completely, but it can be removed if rules are broken. Please keep this in mind for those who are asking why this is happening, or why are we doing this. Fan clubs are joined because members like those characters/actors, not to chat with everyone about nothing dealing with the fan club.

• Chat threads are converted to Discussion threads in all forum fan clubs

• Chatting is still allowed within discussion threads as long as the post pertains to the discussion going on

Specifically, we are in need of a Graphics Officer (experience making graphics and organization skills are required) and a News Officer (you must be able to write brief articles like those you see in SS' News forum and in our Alan News thread. You will be shown how to find the news you will post. Experience is a plus but not required).
