Hello all, welcome to the Song Fics forum. We've been noticing a lot of one shots and short fics being posted that are based on popular music lyrics not written by our writers. Since that work is not our own and doesn't necessarily fall under the realm of 'original fan fiction', we're going to put it all here in a special forum.

As you all know, plagiarism is strictly forbidden on SS, and since the use of lyrics written by others could be construed as infringement, we are asking that writers pay attention to the following new rules and guidelines for this forum:

• All stories based on songs (not stories that just contain music references, with proper credit notes) must be posted in/moved to the Song Fics forum.
  
• Any Song Fic which doesn't include a note of proper credit in the first post will not be approved (tell us who wrote & recorded the song at least, what album it appeared on and the name of the record company, preferably). You can find all the information you need about almost every professionally recorded song in existence at allmusic.
  
• Authors of threads which were approved before these rules will get a PM asking them to make sure their threads comply with the new rules. failure to comply will result in the removal of the thread.
  
• All SnitchSeeker.com and SS Fan Fiction rules apply, as always.
  
• Song Fic threads will remain open until 1 month after the last update (if its a continuing fic rather than a one-shot). The threads will then be closed and remain in this forum if finished, or moved to Inactive Fics forum if they're not, as per our Inactive Fics Policy.
  
• The threads will be ordered by last post, so finished, closed threads will move down the thread list and onto later pages as new threads are created.
