I've been trying to think up a topic for a FF for a while, and after reading DH I decided Victoire and Teddy would be an interesting couple to write about. Once the forums are integrated this will probably go in the romance section. Sorry my first entry is so short, this story will probably be mainly very short little intervals.

(oh yes, and the meaning of the title will become clear later, if you've ever listened to a certain Hannah Montana song *mysterious look*)

(edit: reading the rules in the song FF section I will add this disclaimer: the song I have based my FF on is If We Were a Movie by Hannah Montana, it is on the Hannah Montana soundtrack. I feel obligated to add this, I love a lot of her songs enjoy )

feel free to PM me about the Fan Fiction if you like it

Entry one:

Victoire Weasley was standing in the Great Hall of Hogwarts. After glancing around briefly at her fellow new Students she looked down at the floor. She wished there was someone she knew going to Hogwarts this year that would be a first year as well. Teddy Lupin had been going for a year already; Victoire just hoped she’d be in Gryffindor as well so she could see him more than if she was in another house. She suddenly realized her wet robes were steadily dripping on the floor. She had apparently stepped in more puddles than she had thought. She had been too distracted to notice before. She stepped out of her puddle as the new deputy Headmistress stepped out into the Great Hall, (McGonagall had left a few years ago, she had decided she ought to give Ernie Macmillan a chance to be Transfiguration teacher.) The girl next to Victoire gave a nervous jump when she saw the doors opening. Victoire felt somewhat better when she remembered she wasn’t the only who was freaking out about what was about to happen. The doors started to open; Victoire had tuned out what the deputy headmistress had been saying. What a good start for her school year. 

As they entered the Great Hall Victoire stopped for a second and the person behind her ran into her. She had heard about the Great Hall, about most of the rooms in Hogwarts, but it was still a bit surprising to see a room that big. She hurried up slightly so she wouldn’t be the last in line. She watched as the other first years were called up to be sorted. The girl next to her was sorted into Hufflepuff. Finally, after what seemed like an hour, her name was called. She went up and sat on the stool, nearly tripping all the way up the three stairs. The hat was placed on her head and the crowd in the great hall watched for a few seconds as the hat considered, then shouted “Gryffindor!”

I'm not actually meant to be on and I'll get shotued out by Papa, but once I saw those lyrics to the song (Yes, I know the song and i LOVE it! If the plot's following the song, I may just know where it's going) I just HAD to read it, and it's brilliant so far!

Love,

thanks. the whole fanfic actually came from having the song stuck in my head, and thinking about the idea for the fanfic at the same time.

I'll get on and post more a little later. I have school now

Entry 2

Victoire came into the common room, backwards, talking to Teddy. They had been to the library; Victoire hadn’t been able to find it yet, so she had to enlist the help of someone who had been there several years. They had, of course, found the library with ease and found the book nearly as easily. (Madame Pince was following them around telling Victoire the rules of the library.) Then they had stayed for a little while. She may not have been a bookworm like her aunt Hermione had been but Victoire still was amazed at how many books were there and enjoyed looking around a bit. Now they were discussing what Madame Pince must do in her spare time.

“Why I’ve got it Teddy, she makes up more rules for the library! And makes sure she hasn’t forgotten any of the ones she already had.”

“That must be it. Either that or she thinks there is no such thing as spare time and patrols her library 24/7.”

“I wouldn’t put it past her. I’ve heard about her from dad.”

“Oh, and she must also put more spells on her books. Things like if a book is kept out past its due date it flies back to the library in the dead of night, though of course not before soundly whacking whatever student had it.”

Victoire laughed, but she also ran into something. She turned around to see what it was and saw that it was an older student. She looked down at Victoire for a few moments then moved on without saying a word. Victoire and Teddy stared after her. After a few seconds Teddy said
“That was odd…”

“Must have bumped into her at the wrong time, maybe her homework is late.”

“I suppose, but Hazel has been very unpleasant lately. It’s not just this one time”

He looked thoughtful. Victoire went over to a table and began to look up answers in her book she had borrowed from the library, thinking up more things for Madame Pince to do in her spare time. She might mention some of them to her the next time she was at the library….

That Saturday was the Quidditch tryouts for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Victoire didn’t want to attempt to try out, not in her first year, but she decided to go down and watch anyway. On her way she ran into some of her fellow Gryffindor first years who were on their way down to the pitch as well. A few of them were going to try out, three guys and Victoire’s new friend Ella. Victoire saw Teddy in the entrance hall and waved to him. Ella asked who he was.

“I don’t remember seeing him around”

“That’s because he’s a metamorphagus,” Victoire answered. “So it’s rather hard to pick him out of a crowd sometimes.” She smiled at how impressed Ella looked. She had known Teddy all her life and was used to it, but it was always interesting to see how people reacted.

They got down to the pitch and those that were trying out went out onto the pitch. Victoire sat down in the stands to watch right behind the goal posts. She looked around to see if Teddy had come down as well, whether to try out or to watch, but she didn’t see him anywhere. She turned to watch the tryouts, resolving to check on where he was later.

After the Tryouts Victoire went back to the school to look for Teddy, followed by Ella, ranting about all the reasons she really did make that last shot, it just looked like she didn’t. After depositing Ella at the common room Victoire finally found him in the library.

“Why weren’t you down at the Quidditch pitch today Teddy?”

“Well, I didn’t really see any point in going down since I’m not going to try out until next year. I considered it, but I figured I could probably find something more useful to do with my time…”

He trailed off. Victoire looked at him curiously for a moment, and then decided she wouldn’t ask. Teddy seemed a bit out of sorts about something, but she had never been sure how to approach him on things like this. He had always been rather quiet and kept to himself.

Late November Victoire ran into Hazel again. Victoire had just left the library; she was passing on a message from Harry to Teddy saying he could stay with the Potters at Christmas. Hazel stared down at her for a second, looked like she was going to say something, and then seemed to think better of it. She nodded to Victoire and walked on into the library.

Victoire went to go find Ella; she would get her opinion on what was going on. This was not the only time she had run into Hazel like this. Ella was not very helpful.

“Maybe she thinks you’re distantly related to her great grandmother’s least favorite person. Or maybe you accidentally looked at her the wrong way once at the wrong time. I don’t know, I don’t attempt to fathom the minds of older students, even if they are only a year older.”

“You’re not the one who’s going to be getting detentions if she becomes prefect.”

“No, I probably am, you need to work on this troublemaking thing.” She winked.

“Thank you, Ella, but that’s not helping. She has to have some sensible reason for not liking me.”

“No she doesn’t… oops… ok, reasons she doesn’t like you…” she interrupted herself at Victoire’s death stare. “Well… I don’t know. I’ll get back to you after I figure out what in the world powdered bicorn horn does.”

At Christmas time Victoire was fairly relieved to go home for a while. She had of course had fun, but she would be glad to have some time to rest from classes and homework every day. And she was looking forward to the yearly Christmas gathering with all her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was the oldest followed by Fred who would be starting school next year. And Teddy always came along as well, so he was just counted as another cousin. Victoire had always enjoyed listening to her aunts and uncles talk about their years at Hogwarts, and she would have at least a few stories this year to add to the storytelling.

This year Mrs. Longbottom had come to visit as well since Neville was staying at school because he was a professor. She had brought her three daughters as well, Hannah was 7 and the twins Vida and Chloe were four years old. All the guests had a bit of trouble fitting inside Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione’s house, but when they did get inside comfortably no one even noticed if they were a bit squished.

However a few weeks later it was time to go back to school. Victoire packed, having gained a few items including books (less to borrow from Madame Pince she joked to Teddy) and a set of Wizards chess which they had been lacking up to that point. They had been left to invent different ways of exploding snap which had resulted in demolishing one of the chairs in the common room and a “stern” warning from the prefects who were collapsing from suppressed laughter.

During the middle of January Victoire was headed down to the Quidditch field accompanied by Teddy and Ella. Halfway there Ella realized she’d forgotten her scarf back in the common room by accident. Victoire and Teddy headed down to the Quidditch field to save a space for her. They got down there and Victoire realized she had left the flags she and Ella had made in the common room and Teddy headed back to get them for her. As Victoire sat there wondering how many other things they could have forgotten someone sat in one of the seats she was saving for Teddy and Ella. He was a larger third or fourth year but Victoire didn’t hesitate in telling him he needed to find another seat. As she did so the person on her right side got up and left and he promptly took their spot. A bit surprised she went back to looking for Teddy or Ella, who (she hoped) would surely be coming soon when he commented suddenly,

“I find that these are the best seats, though you can’t always see farther down.”

“Yes I always try to get seats around here.”

“My name’s Ben by the way.”

She nodded then, feeling somewhat rude replied “My name is Victoire.”

“Very pleased to meet you. Ah, I believe that would be someone you’re waiting for. Either that or she’s going to have to find another row; there aren’t any other seats in this one besides those two you’re saving.”

She looked over her shoulder, “Yes that’s her.” Ella sat down looking curiously at older student who seemed to have been in conversation with Victoire. Victoire noticed and explained “Ella, this is Ben. He was trying to steal your seat.”

“Charmed” said Ben “I’ll be sure to remember that introduction.”

Then the game began. Ella and Ben started discussing how the professional Quidditch teams had been doing that year and Victoire moved over so they wouldn’t have to talk over her. By the time Teddy arrived they were arguing whether the Chudley Cannons had a chance of finishing second to last this year.

When their tests for the year came around Victoire was thankful to have some friends around to hang out with when she was tired of studying or had just finished an exam. She was also thankful that they were there to keep her from studying too much, though that was more of a problem with Teddy. As for Ella and Ben, Victoire had to keep reminding them that the teachers probably wouldn’t be very sympathetic if they hadn’t studied at all for the exams. So between the four of them they managed to survive. Ben was third year and knew that he had to study, but still needed some reminding to do it. Ella was completely calm and confident she didn’t have to study. And she may have been right; she usually caught what was said in class even while doodling.

By the end of the week they were all very studied out and ready to take a break. Though Victoire hadn’t really though about the fact that they’d be going home soon. It struck her quite suddenly that Sunday as she was playing wizard’s chess with Ben.

“It’s only just hit me; we’re going home soon aren’t we?”

“Yes….” Said Ella slowly, looking over the edge of her broomstick catalog at Victoire, slightly bemused.

“Sorry, I just wasn’t ready for that. I mean, it’s going to be weird going back to being at home for a while after spending this much time at school.”

“I suppose so,” Ella said, now looking thoughtful. “I guess I hadn’t though about it either. But you’ll all write right? Because if you don’t you’ll be attacked by as many letters my owl can deliver in one day.” She added glaring at Ben in particular.

“I’ll write!” he said defensively. “I don’t want to be the death of your poor owl.” He added as he turned back to the chess game.

“I’ll write, and don’t worry, if I don’t Victoire will find Fred and plot something to make sure I do” Teddy added from his position watching the chess match.

“Ooo and Fred’s coming next year, that should make things interesting” Victoire sat up as Ben’s queen took her bishop.

“As if they weren’t interesting enough, I think the prefects dread us coming into the common room.” Teddy glanced up towards the dormitories “I think they’re hiding upstairs now…”

When the day came for them to go home Victoire was finally used to the idea and went down to the last feast in high spirits, especially since Gryffindor had once again won the house cup. They did admit that Ravenclaw had given them a run for their money but they were not afraid to somewhat gloat that they had won… again…

As they headed down to the train they discussed plans for next year. Mainly they discussed how they would get back on the Prefects’ good sides.

“I mean they really have no reason to not like us. We haven’t done anything dreadful… yet.” Ella attempted to look innocent.

“Yeah, we’ve only nearly blown up the common room twice” Teddy added somewhat sarcastically.

“Well… besides those two little incidents.”

“And the armies of wizard’s chess pieces marching across the common room floor to fight in a “real battle” as you said.”

“Well you at least have to admit we haven’t done anything outside the common room. And we only act up on nights when we don’t have homework.”

“When you don’t have homework, I’m never going to not have homework after this year I bet” Ben predicted gloomily.

“Thank you Ben, now we feel so much better about the coming years. I’m glad we have you to warn us of these things. I’ll cancel all future appointments to make way for transfiguration.” Victoire joked. “Cheer up Ben, just how many people have made it all the way through Hogwarts over the years? I think you’ll live.”

“Oh I’ll live; I’ll just never touch a book again in my life.”

They had come to the station and didn’t have time to talk again until they were settled into their compartment and most of the way home they played exploding snap (their wizard’s chess pieces wouldn’t listen to them anymore.) As they neared Platform 9¾ they started getting their luggage all together and were some of the first few off the train. Victoire’s parents had come to pick up her and Teddy and Ginny Potter had come along as well. They said goodbye to Ella and her parents and Ben who was looking for his and headed out through the gateway to Kings Cross station.

climbed out of the hole....

Victoire was back on Platform 9¾ looking for her cousin Fred. She tried to see over the crowd for a few minutes before seeing his bright red hair; he had apparently been looking for her as well. She told her mother who was talking to her Uncle Percy that she had found Fred and went to join him. Her Uncle had been visiting and came along to bring Victoire to the station. Victoire pushed through the crowd and got to Fred and his mom and dad.

“There you are, I thought you said you’d be here early” she pretended to reprimand him.

“Now now there, Fred was trying to get us out of the house three hours early but we thought that was just a little too early.” Her Uncle George grinned at her.

“All right I see you tried. Come on we’ll find a compartment and come back out to say goodbye.” Victoire grabbed Fred and pulled him towards the train. She passed Ella and Ben on the way and waved. They found a compartment at the back of the train and deposited their trunks in the rack then worked their way through the crowd back out onto the platform, stopping for a moment to find either set of parents. Victoire’s father and mother had decided it would be easier just to stay in the same spot as Fred’s parents so they didn’t have to look far. Plunging back into the crowd they made their way towards where their parents were. Victoire fought for a sight of Ella or Ben to tell them where she and Fred had put their trunks. However she needn’t have because when they finally reached their parents Ella and Ben were waiting there for them.

“We’re all set then Mum” said Fred.

“Though, have any of you seen Teddy yet?” Victoire asked.

“No but he’s probably around here somewhere” Ella said as she got a better grip on her trunk.

“All right then, we know how eager you all are to get back… can’t imagine why though…” joked George.

“Yes I think Fred’s practically bouncing off the walls ready to go, maybe we should say goodbye and let them get on the train” said Fred’s mother.

“We’ll wait for you on the train” said Ben and he and Ella headed off towards the train as Victoire and Fred said goodbye to their parents. They pushed through the thinning crowd to the train and went back to their compartment. After they had finished helping Ella with her trunk Teddy finally showed up.

“Sorry I was a bit late. Bit of a hold up at Harry’s, he forgot Kingsley was coming over for dinner.”

Victoire laughed at Ella nearly dropping her owl’s cage which she was holding. “We live such strange lives. Things like visits from the Minister of Magic and former Death Eaters seem so normal to us. I guess you can’t think something’s strange if you’ve lived with it all your life.”

The train started to move and Ella finally got her owl out of the way. Victoire was quite ready to go back to her abnormal Hogwarts life.

Teddy and Victoire waited eagerly for the first years to come in. Fred’s excitement had slowly mounted on the train until he was practically bouncing off the walls. Both were sincerely hoping he’d be sorted into Gryffindor. Victoire was fairly certain he would be, she’d known him all his life and couldn’t see him in any other house. Personally she had thought she’d end up in either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, but she had always got nervous just thinking about it.

The Great Hall doors opened slowly and the first years filed in. As always Fred was easy to find because of his bright red hair. He was radiantly happy Victoire could tell. She knew how long that wait to be called would be, having a W as a last name wasn’t good for alphabetical order. However she thought Fred would have to be held back from just going up before called. Professor Macmillan placed the sorting hat, looking older and more battered than ever, on the stool and it began singing.

What seemed like hours later Fred was called, ran up and jammed the hat on his head. The hat was barely there a few seconds before the brim opened and shouted “Gryffindor!” Victoire breathed a sigh of relief and clapped as hard as she could. Fred ran along the Gryffindor table until he had reached them. He sat down between them, beaming.

Victoire woke up early the next morning and stared up at the bed curtains. She was very happy to be back at Hogwarts, but she was slightly homesick. She missed the view outside her house every morning, the ocean and the cliffs. But mainly she missed her dad trying to get her out of bed. He had stated he was amazed she always got to her classes on time; he would be surprised how early she actually got up. And she missed her Mum trying to keep their garden neat with her dad always inviting her cousins to play Quidditch because they were so secluded and had so much space.

She got up and dressed and headed down to the common room with her books. Ben was already down there searching for his quill he had already lost and Teddy came down shortly after Victoire. Ben looked up and smiled “It’s amazing how organized we are this morning… well, how organized you are. Later in the year we’ll be rushing down to breakfast a bit too late and forgetting half our stuff.”

“You will, and maybe I will, but Victoire never seems to run late, even when Ella does her hardest to maker her late.” Teddy said as he found Ben’s quill right out in the open on a table.

“Yeah I suppose I should start exerting that power a bit more at home, though we don’t have as large a reputation for being late as Uncle Ron does. I feel sorry for Aunt Hermione.” Teddy climbed out of the portrait hole and she started following him but stopped, “Have you seen Fred go down yet? I would have thought he would have been down there as soon as it was technically morning.”

“No I haven’t seen him, but that probably means he just went down before I got up.”

Victoire climbed out and ran after Teddy towards the Great hall. Sure enough Fred was there waiting for them. He was reading his schedule; apparently he had already eaten breakfast.

“Oh look, I haven’t broken the tradition; I have potions with the Slytherins, though it’s not double potions.”

“Well it’s not quite the same as your parents always had, they had Snape teaching. Is that what you have first?” Victoire asked, pouring herself pumpkin juice.

“No, that’s right before lunch. I have Herbology first.”

“Oh that’s good, Neville’s a fun teacher.” She glanced at her schedule, “I have Defense Against the Dark Arts First. Oh good, that’s a fun subject. What about you Teddy?”

“Transfiguration, though I’ll be wishing I had something worse, it’s better to get the bad classes over with quickly.”

“Well it gives you something to look forward to. Why don’t you head out to the greenhouses now Fred? I’m done so I’ll go with you on my way to DADA.” Victoire suggested. She could tell Fred was all ready to go and needed to burn off a little energy. She was pretty excited to be back herself and could understand why. She grabbed her stuff and headed out with Fred

At the end of the second week were the Gryffindor Quidditch tryouts. Much to Ella’s delight most of the team had been in their seventh year last year. After much nagging she and Ella convinced Ben and Teddy to also tryout. However no amount of nagging could get Victoire to play in front of that large of a crowd. She was a good player but she didn’t think she would perform well in front of a large crowd. Fred was also trying out of course, but he didn’t think he would get on, being a first year. Victoire cheerfully encouraged the four of them all the way down to the Quidditch field and left them when she came to the entrance to the stands. She chose a spot near the goal posts since all four of them would be trying out for either keeper or chaser.

The captain was a sixth year who played seeker and one of the beaters from the team last year was there for one more year. The captain had the tryouts for the beaters, he had the previous beater try out so it was fair but he still got in. The other beater was another sixth year who definitely looked big enough to be a beater and nearly unseated the captain with a well aimed bludger. Next were the keeper tryouts, Ben was trying out for keeper. Victoire thought he had a very good shot at getting in, being considered an older student now That he was a fourth year. He blocked the same amount of shots as a fifth year girl. After some debating with the beaters the captain decided on Ben, Victoire cheered as loud as she could.

Last of all were the chaser tryouts, Ella didn’t seem very happy about this. She had been completely confident up in the common room but seemed a bit shaky now. She waved up at Victoire as she climbed onto her broom. She made 5 of the 6 shots she attempted and just barely missed the last one. Fred went next and made 4 of the 6. Victoire was sure he had purposefully missed at least one. Teddy was one of the last people up and Victoire held her breath as he made 4, 5, 6 of his shots! The captain decided on Teddy, Ella and a third year girl with waist length dark blonde hair.

Victoire ran down as the stands cleared out. She found Fred as the others were talking to the captain and the rest of the team. She shook her head, “Really Fred, you could have made those shots if you’d tried.”

“So could you, but you weren’t out there were you?”

She shook her head again but didn’t deny it. “Besides,” he added “I realized it would be more fun to wait until next year and try out for seeker. Then we can try to get you to try out again,” he grinned at her denial as the others walked up.

“Congratulations to all. Fred and I will enjoy watching you this year.”

“And next year you’ll both be on as well.” Ben said confidently.

“Really, you’re all convinced I’ll be all ready to be on the team next year. Where did you get this idea?”

“Well if you haven’t convinced yourself by the end of the year that you really do want to be on the team Ben and I are going to storm your house and practice with you every spare minute” Ella said cheerfully.

“And we’re happily convinced that your dad will be happy with this situation.” Teddy added, “Though your mum may not be as happy about us playing Quidditch over her garden.”

“She’ll adjust” said Fred “Besides, she wants you to become and international Quidditch player as much as any mother right?”

“Well I suppose I’ll have to get used to your nagging and hope you’ll give up by the end of the year.” Victoire maintained.

“Oh no, you’re not that stubborn.” Victoire rolled her eyes. “We’ll be just as patient and wait for you to give in.” Fred was quite unperturbed by her refusals, he was entirely used to them. He changed the subject and they continued towards the castle in high spirits.

On the day of the first Quidditch match Victoire woke to the sound of Ella leaving the dormitory. She knew she wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep so she got ready and went down to the common room, Fred was there waiting for her.

“Ah there you are. I’ve seen the whole Quidditch team go down already and I thought I’d be seeing you soon.”

“You saw the whole Quidditch team, how early did you get up? I would have thought Chris would go down before the sun rose.” Chris was the Team captain; they had all got to know the rest of the Quidditch team very well because Fred and Victoire were usually there at the practices or waiting for them afterward.

“Well… he did. Don’t yell at me. I was up kind of late disposing of some Joke Shop merchandise I had forgotten about. (You didn’t hear that last night did you?) And I woke up early this morning when one of the Prefects came down for some reason or another and found out about it. He wasn’t very happy about it. After he finally calmed down and I was nearly asleep I heard someone moving down here again and it turned out to be Chris. After that I pretty much gave up on trying to sleep. It’s so much more interesting down here anyway.” Victoire shook her head. It was amazing he didn’t fall asleep over his homework the way he stayed up at all hours of the night. She had got used to it over the past few weeks.

“Well it seems you’ve been awake for a very long time. I assume you’re ready to go down for breakfast?”

“Been ready for a while, I was going to go down without you if you didn’t come down soon.”

“We’re not on the Quidditch team we don’t need to be up this early.”

“Yeah but if you’d been waiting down here for as long as I had you’d be hungry too.”

Victoire shook her head once again. They headed out through the portrait hole towards the Great Hall, when they got there the found the Gryffindor Quidditch team sitting in a group towards the far end of the Gryffindor table. The two beaters, David and William, were trying to get Ella to eat something. They claimed they always regretted not eating before the game, though it didn’t seem they had eaten much either. Chris was pacing and Tabitha the other Chaser was trying to get Him to sit down and eat. Ben and Teddy were sitting on the ends apparently attempting to look calm. Teddy was succeeding at this much more than Ben. As Victoire and Fred were followed by a large crowd of Ravenclaws Chris gave up on waiting for them and told David to grab a piece of toast to make Ella eat and head down the Quidditch pitch.
