The Ministry RPG has recently expanded to include the Diagon Alley forum full-time, and part of this expansion is to include a brand new Wizarding World RPG-wide newspaper, the Daily Prophet.
But we can't do it without a bold new staff! The WW RPG admins, Cassirin and lemondrop13, would like to introduce you to the new editorial staff: Nabs and FoxFire. We are currently accepting applications for all other positions, regardless of your current position in the RPGs. Please read carefully below for information on how to apply:
1. To apply for a position as a writer or copywriter, please click here and fill out the application as thoroughly as possible.
2. You may only apply once. If you find that you've left something off your original application, please contact Cassirin, lemondrop13, or Nabs. Multiple applications may hinder our ability to move through them quickly and will slow the process down.
3. The application does have a writing sample. Please follow the instructions carefully, and remember that because you may only apply once, you should WAIT until your article is finished before filling out the application. Please only submit what is asked for, and not your favorite English essay.

Britain's illustrious Minister of Magic faces yet more chances of being "illustrated". This time, Minister Brennan Cooper seems to have been immortalized in Mrs Ginger's captivating work of non-fiction - From Diapers to Dabbling in Politics. Although possessing what is admittedly not a very clever title, this publication seems to have captured the members of Britain's wizarding community by storm!
Mrs Ginger, whom our sources have confirmed was indeed the minister's governess when he was a wee lad, has recorded every single stage of Minister Cooper's young life in incredible detail. The very first paragraph immediately draws the attention of the reader by describing Little Cooper's first word (you'll have to read the book to find out what it is, Mrs Ginger's publishers have refused us the right to reproduce any portion of the book). The content is without a doubt intriguing, while the writing style itself flows easily off the pages.
However, the tale does not end happily for this potentially award-winning writer as the Minister's representatives vehemently deny every fact represented in the book. One unnamed member of the Minister's office was overheard saying, "This is nothing but pure fiction, spawned from the wishful thinking of a senile woman."
Fact or fiction? The members of the wizarding community seem to be unaffected by the legal battle, as the book has quickly shot up to bestseller status in merely a week since it's release date! Mrs Ginger may end up paying millions of galleons in legal fees if the Minister's office decides to charge her for libel, but with sales of her book hitting the roof of every single bookstore in the country (and indeed, parts of the Eurozone), this little old lady will have enough to last her til the end of her days... and then some.
If you want to apply for both the writing position and the graphics position, please submit both samples.

Ooh!! This sounds really awesome!!
But I have a couple questions:
1. If you have a position in the Ministry RP and/or DA, then could you still apply as a Daily Prophet Staff Writer/Graphic Artist?
2. Could you apply for both graphics and writing? So in case there are too many writers for instance, but you're needed for graphics, then you have one to fall back on?

1. There's a place on the application for you to check your preference on this one. Essentially, we'd prefer to have a staff OOC and IC so that we can have roving reporters making trouble in the RPG too. But beggars can't be choosers and we need good writers regardless. Please apply even if you already have a great job.
2. Yes. Just do the writing sample AND the graphics sample.
^ I don't know that I do either, what with my current RP charries on SS (which I still count Rhiannon as part of, even though most of her RPing is offsite now), and about five other RP charries combined from other sites.
Oh, and work, and Quidditch, and TPing . . . I think I need to work sleep in there somewhere. So I don't really have time to worry about articles and such.

I have a question. When sending in graphics examples, do we simply post a link to graphics in the box where the writing example was meant to be? Or do we use the full [IMG][/IMG] tags?

Mmm...news item Editorials will be reserved for the editor, and a polemic sort of piece kinda falls into the same category. There is a gossip piece there that you may use, so of course feel free to be creative

Actually, while I think we'd love to see some genuine article style, there is always room for someone with wit. I would add to what Foxy says and say... if you can show ironic commentary with the little we've given you, show us what you've got.
