This book was a very fitting end to the series. It was incredible. I cried SO MUCH while I read it. Fred and George=my favourite characters and everything that happened to them in this book sucks. Then there are the deaths of Hedwig, Dobby, and Mad-Eye. I keep tissues by my side when I read this book. |

Not going in order!
Rating: 8.5/10
1. Why kill off so many characters?!?!?! Why Hedwig?! Why Moody?! Fred?!
2. I like the snatches of humor JKR tried to put there.
3. A bit dull near the Goblin--understanding it was to beef it up, but still....
4. Malfoy Manor-still creeps me out.
5. Wish we had a stronger ending. Like: Who does Neville Marry? Where are the Patils? Does Harry ever tell his kids? etc.

This film is very emotional because so many people die. Hedwig and Fred. But dobby dying was too much for me. I cried in the cinemas when that happened. I love the fact that ron and hermione kiss at the end and I imagine that that will be an amazing sight to see in the cinemas. I also love the fact that ron becomes mature and all grown up at the end. But I think that it would have been more interesting if one of the main characters where to actually die. I mean, I know that Harry dies and comes back to life and everything, but I think it would have been even more emotional if Ron or hermione was to die.

I'm not sure if I loved this book or hated it...
Loved it because it was Harry Potter and awesomely written, with so many subcategories and hidden meanings and everything just coming together in a brilliant climax...
Hated it because it marked the end of my adventures with Harry and co.
I hated that all those people had to die, especially colin creevey... people don't always think of his death as a big deal... but he stayed back even though he was underage. He stayed back to fight evil and he dies... it's just so unfair, he was probably the most irritating person in gryffindor, but he was also in my opinion one of the bravest. Also I have to mention, as others have done before me, Lupin, Tonks, Dobby, Hedwig, Ted Tonks, Fred, Mad Eye and Snape... Yeah, Snape too...
The plot is brilliant of course... but I never expected anything less from Jo... The epilogue is a bit dissapointing though... she should either have left it completely or done a bit better... no matter what Snape did, and for which cause, I don't think Harry would ever have named his son Severus... although he was always a bit of a softy I guess..
Anyway, brilliant series and an awesome, gripping ending to it... Now lets all pray that Jo writes another novel/series! :-D

The beginning which sees the Dursleys departing forever, is a big chunk of Harry Potter because without realising it, I became attatched to them just like Harry did subconsciously. They were the ones that have been with us throughout all the books, and immediately we are leaving them forever. I then think that the story of the 7 Potter's is just fantastically clever and JK Rowling consistantly gives me more reason to respect her. It is brilliant and action packed and from the word go, kept me hooked.
I then went on to find that I'd become emotionally attatched to the Weasley's, because at the wedding when Harry is amongst friends and what he would call family, they it will be the last time and it is sad but friendship is conceived throughout this and shines through beautifully. When he leaves to go on his journey, friendship is entailed again throughout, and it is just magical and you can appreciate Harry's hardwork because all throughout the books JK Rowling has managed to link everything which is why this book is THE most inspiring.
I also really enjoyed meeting Aberforth Dumbledore. I think it is brilliant how it is linked into the book and brings a sense of realism to the book. It is so realistic you wouldn't believe. It also gives Harry and friends a link to Hogwarts castle which is where the action really begins.
The battle of Hogwarts is thrilling and exciting, it entails heartbreak and fighting and love and suspense. It brings all the characters together, fighting, and gives you a last chance as a fan to appreciate the characters all together.
The use of the resurrection stone bringing Harry's most loved ones back is beautiful and sad and I really appreciated that part.
My favourite bit was the meeting with Dumbledore in King's Cross. (If they don't include this in the film I will be gutted.) It gave a finality to Dumbledore, and answered everything Harry and fans needed to know. It was crystal clear in my imagination and just beautiful.
I love Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I love Dumbledore. I love Sirius Black.

I guess the right word for this book is "sad" and makes me ask why should those who died, I read with feeling very emotional, lots of characters died. mad eye, fred, dobby, Tonks, Lupin, Snape, Hedwig, colin. they are all the characters I like. I cried at the cinema when I saw dobby die, and I still cry when I saw it on dvd, and there are several questions that remain unanswered. like
1. how harry, Ron and Hermione after the last war against Voldemort. do not they do not attend school again?
2. what happened with Dolores Umbridge?
3. what happened to luna, did she marry Dean?
4. what happened to the Malfoy family, not all already know if their families were death eaters?
5. after the last fight where harry lived, he back to the Dursley family or stay at home ingiven by sirius?
6.what happened with the Dursleys?
7. etc
all is still a question mark for me. I hope JK provide all the answers in pottermore

I think DH should get 10/10....The plot was brilliant.....every piece of puzzle set together exactly at the climax......I cried when dobby died...It was the best book in the series....The best we expect of from the final one.....I'm unhappy she is not gonna write another one......but still there is pottermore...so we can really look forward for some fun..... it was really a gift to us |

Well I thought the book was great! It was quite dark and there was a lot of deaths. But it was amazing.

Deathly Hallows was one of the first Harry Potter books I read. I totaly went out of order, but I had to read the book, before part 2 of the movie came out. Personaly I like the book better than the movie. I loved the last book, because it cleared up so much that you never knew! If I would have never guessed Snape liked Lily, and the Narcissa would actually lie to Voldemort, about Harry's death.
I loved the whole book otherwise!

9/10. I totally loved that book. It explained so many things as to why Dumbledore had those plans. We also managed to see the real Snape and his role on the whole story. But yeah I got ****** off in some points. So many favourite characters dying - Hedwig, Fred (OMG), Lupin and Tonks, and ofc Snape. I liked that it had those hints of humour in the right amount and in the right time. But I agree with Neville_Matthew101 on the points she mentions that were not in the book. I would also like to see the family of Neville and other characters.

8/10.
Loved the ideas and storyline - the wedding, so many characters returning and a really great way for the series to end. But honestly, it was a lot to fit into one book. So that was a good job. On the other hand, the deaths were ridiculous and unbelievable. I see the logic behind the deaths and certain explanations that J.K Rowling has made concerning them. But for a beginning, the death of Hedwig, Dobby and Fred (especially fred..attached to a character!) were not neccessary. I found them to be extremely illogical and a bit over the top. I saw the definite logic behind the death of mad-eye, and the points made afterwards concerning the deaths of Tonks and Lupin made a lot more sense than is seen in the book. The execution of the story was impressive and satitisfying, but a lot has been left out and many unanswered questions, as well as the upset of many un-neccessary deaths. Colin Creevey, Really?

This book was a great finale as it gave us closure! The only bad thing I can say about it is the epilogue, as it made it look like JKR was continuing with another Hogwarts story... (It's called the last book for a reason) however still a great read. 7/10.

I cry when Hedwig, Dobby and Tonks died. It's so sad
The epilogue is amazing, although it's felt kinda awkward when Harry meet Draco
And the whole climatic battle in Hogwarts was epic. Harry VS Voldemort... A great way to end the epic series.

Review: This book is a win. Oh, there's so much to talk about... The escape from the Dursleys, the gallivanting across Europe trying to hide and find horcruxes, the return to Hogwarts.... Mainly when I think of this book, however, I think about the battle. It is quite an amazing literary feat, I must say. This book really shows the climax of characters as well as the climax to this series. So many characters grow into such beautiful people. We see with Luna, a quiet, easily-ignored person with strange views demand to be heard. Her confidence takes over and she ends up being quite the lifesaver in finding one of the last horcruxes. We see with Snape, a man who was consumed with "hatred" for Harry actually show his love--we see him caring for Harry almost more than Dumbledore. We see Molly Weasley stand up for her family and destroy Bellatrix Lestrange. We see McGonagall stand up to another teacher, defending her students, defending her castle and taking charge. We see Ron and Hermione grow together--finally tolerate each other, then finally find love. We see Neville Longbottom constantly growing until HE is the one that stands up to Lord Voldemort when no one else does. We see Malfoy regretting his dark choices, wanting to be on the good side. We see Narcissa willing to betray the Dark Lord to protect her son. We see Ginny stand up for Harry and continue on with Dumbledore's Army (along with Neville), even after Harry has left. Skipping many other relationships... we see Harry grow. He finally understands what must happen and faces death head on, fully willing to give up his life to save the rest of his world. The characters in this book truly make it great and worthwhile. This was quite a marvelous end to the perfect series.

Oh, I never mentioned the deaths... I meant to mention the deaths. The deaths were CRUCIAL to this book. To be a good ending, people HAD to die. Voldemort and an army of Death Eaters can't completely invade Hogwarts and everyone survive it. It isn't logical. So yes, it was sad that characters we love died, but it would have been a terrible story if they hadn't.

I love this book. The storyline were amazing.
But this book is also very sad and emotional. Especially when Lupin, Tonks and Fred died. Dobby and Hedwig's death are quite heartbreaking too. I cried when Voldemort "killed" Harry, I cried when I read Snape's memory... It was epic. The best book I've ever read.

this was an amazing book good way to end it. so sad tho so many amazing people died i.e fred, dobby, lupin, tonks and hedwig. i loved the battle at the end and i liked when they were hiding and harry went to see his parents grave tht was sad. the only thing tht shocked me was tht snape was a good guy after all (even tho since the first book my mum was like theres something about snape i think hes good) so she was right all along. and seeing the princes tale tht was so sad and made me respect snape and i felt bad tht i always thought he was evil but really he wasnt..and i now like snape what a legend. (:
