When I first started reading it, I absolutely could not figure out how I felt about it. Usually when that happens, I put the book down and never pick it up again. But of course I could not do that with this book. It's Harry Potter! So I trucked on.

I don't have the book in front of me (oh, how I wish I did) so I can't do a chapter analysis, but I suppose I will highlight the parts that were the most significant to me.

--The deaths. Oh, the deaths. I felt like I was being tossed unceremoniously about a ship deck every time I read about another death--especially of a person we grew up with. Lupin. Tonks. FRED! Fred's death hit me the hardest. I thought about all the Weasleys, George especially, and how they would cope with the death of one of their own. George went through so much, and to lose his twin would be like losing half of yourself. (I know. I am a twin.) I bawled like a baby when he died.
-Lupin's death hit me just as hard, although differently. I thought about Harry, and what that would mean to him. Lupin was his last tangible link to his father, and now he is gone. I suppose he has Teddy, but Teddy never knew James Potter, so Harry can't ask him what his dad was like. Harry has officially lost everybody (barring the Weasleys, who don't count, since they cared for him from day one, no questions asked) who cared about him and loved him.

--The romances. HA! I absolutely loved when Hermione and Ron started kissing right in the middle of a mad dash to get ready for the BIG BATTLE. Oh, that was priceless! I mean, we all knew they'd get together, but it was very gratifying (not to mention hysterical) that that scene was placed there. Very strategic on Jo's part. And, of course, Harry and Ginny. We always knew they belonged together, ever since she sent him that singing card in second year. (At least, I did.) And finally, they are together with no obstacles in their way and no dark lords to tear them apart. And they have children. Harry has passed on a legacy to his children that his father could not pass on to him, and it is a truly precious moment in the novel when we realize this.

So, to cap, when I started reading DH, I couldn't figure out my feelings for it. As I read on, I started to realize exactly why Rowling wrote what she did and why the series had to come to this momentous climax and denoument. It was a perfect ending for a perfect series.

all i really want to wrrite about is the great number of deaths in this book.in no particular order
HEDWIG
i dont think Hedwig needed to die but admitadly he would have been hard to take with them on the horcrux hunt but i think it hurt harry a lot because hedwig was his friend at all times. No matter what
MAD-EYE MOODY
his death came as a shock to me because i always thought of him as the guy that will never be defeated and who never ever gave up.No matter what
SNAPE
i felt sad that snape died even after we hated him for so long. I think he deserved another chance at love bt instead he stayed hung up on a girl who was dead for his entire life.I think that as horrible as he was he was a great character in the book and i was ad to see him go.
DOBBY
i am so sad that dobby died and iwas wasnt very happy about it because i think it was unnecesary and he DIDN'T have to die!
FRED
its not that i like that fred died in the fight for hogwarts but i foud it realistic because no huge family like the weasleys xould actully enter into something like this and oe out again with no one dead,
TONKS AND LUPIN
i think that by doing this jk rowling wanted teddy to be like harry and have his parents die very bravely like harrys.
CRABBE
i didnt really care about crabbe but i think that he got what he deserved for putting so many peoples lives in danger by setting that fire.

those are all the deaths i found significant
except for belatrix and voldemort but its pretty obvious what i think about those deaths so im not going to comment on them

This is MY FAVOURITE BOOK. In this book everything is revealed. It's so interesting how Harry succeeded to find all of the Horcruxes so fast. And i love the story of the three brothers. The Deathly Hallows are so misterious and i like the way how th Elder wand was transfered from one person to another and at the end it came to Harry. The end when Voldemort dies was the most interesting part. Great work, Harry .

P.S. Maybe I'll start writing a book for the children of Harry, Ron and Hermione (On Macedonian)

The part where snape dies was sort of sad. I love the part where harry marries Ginny. It was sort of expected. I never knew Ron and heermione were gonna end up married. They were constantly bickering

This book was so great.
Some of the things I liked most about Deathly Hallows were all the plot developments and surprises. First they sneak into the ministry to get the locket from Umbridge. Then (this was so unexpected for me) they break into Gringotts and barely escape on the dragon. That part was really exciting. Then Ron leaves the picture, Hermione and Harry almost die because of Bathilda Bagshot aka Nagini, (Harry's wand breaks in the process), Ron comes back, they are captured and barely escape the Malfoy's, and then after all that we still have yet to find out about the Deathly Hallows, and after we do the Trio manages a close escape YET AGAIN. This book is so packed with surprises it left my head spinning. The final battle was so intense and we all thought it was the end of Harry. Snape turns out to be good and was undercover for Dumbledore all along, and then in the very end we get Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny, Neville/Luna.The HP books are also so well written. You always feel like you are a part of it. You can really feel the emotions of the characters. You yourself are affected emotionally by what happens in the story. It is so great. I give the book 6/5 stars and 11/10. The best book in the series.

okay.... i LOVED this book!! it was by far my favorite out of the series. I am really glad that Tonks and Lupin got married and had Teddy...even though they died!! That broke my heart. The since of finality wasn't even a let down for me, I was ecstactic that Harry finally killed Voldemort, and that Molly killed Bellatrix. I was even slightly relieved that Snape turned out to be an okay guy in the end. But most of all the fact that Harry can finally live his life and he's married to Ginny with 3 kids... FANTASTIC 9/10

I think this book was great! Everything comes together in this book, and you find out a lot that you never would have suspected. People assume things from the other books only to find out that they were totally wrong in this one. It is a little sad though with some of our favorite characters dying. Overall, I would rate it 10/10.

I never expected all the loved ones dieing i mean come on Dobby, Hedwig, Fred *cries at the thought*,remus, tonks, EVERYONE! I mean c'mon the book was perfect cuz you don't know whats coming like in HBP I thought it was Voldemort. But voldemort flying, dudley nice, ron leaving and going into Sirius house was really cool and finding that letter and all and The Battle of Hogwarts has to be my fave chapter. Georges here cursed off was freaky! It brought the whole series together and kinda taught you how to lose a loved one. I mean you lost all the ones you loved. And the Sirius, Lupin, James, and Lily ghosts was cool and Peters death was so surprising. As soon as it mentioned that Lupin was dead all I could think of was "all the marauders are dead". It is my fave book in the whole worlds collection of books. Most people disagree but 100,000,000,000/10. It was unsuspecting.

There are so many things I can say about this book, but this post would be a mile and a half long if I did that. So, here are the highlights I absolutely LOVED about this book:

1. The ROMANCE! Harry and Ginny's forbidden love affair: Harry is so...stoic, and stubborn, and such a complete self-flagellating person, someone who feels he must shoulder the world by himself. He is so busy thinking about what he thinks is best for the other person (i.e., Ginny) that he doesn't spare a moment's thought for what Ginny might actually want. Then there's Ron and Hermione--FINALLY! That's all I have to say about that. Tonks and Remus, of course (awww). And we can't forget Snape's one-sided love affair with Lily. To be honest, that was the most moving romance I have read in a long time. It was extremely poignant and bittersweet, and to think that he died protecting Lily Potter's son because he was still irrevocably, unequivocally in love with her is...just...there are no words.

2. The DEATHS! Fred's death reduced me to tears. And I don't usually cry reading books...much, anyway. But Fred...we've known him since the beginning. He is Ron's big brother, and in a way, our big brother as well. He is the other half of the dynamic duo we all know and love. And I cringe when I think that George must live the rest of his life without his best friend, all because some crazed maniac decided it would be fun to take over the world, starting with Hogwarts. Then, of course, Lupin's death hit me very hard. This man was the last link to Harry's father, and his only tangible hold on his childhood. And that last link has been ripped out of his hands forever. Nobody should have to suffer as much as Harry has. And yet, he turns out alright in the end. Dobby's death was a sob-fest for me, as well. Dobby...DOBBY! The wonderful, strange, delightful house elf who was always trying to help and protect his Harry Potter. Dobby, who snuck food for Harry when he was hungry. Dobby, who wore Hermione's elf-liberation clothes when nobody else would. Dobby!!!

3. Ron's tantrum and subsequent desertion of his best friends in their time of need (even if only for a little while).

4. Petunia's story. This was very interesting. All throughout the series you hear about her hating anything magical, or anything that has to do with her sister. And you sort of shape a picture of jealousy in your mind, subconsciously. But to have it brought out in the open like that...that was just...amazing. I loved everything about that scene.

5. And last but not least, even though I've already mentioned it a bit above, it is just my favorite part so I have to mention it again: Snape's unrequited love for Lily Potter. 'Nuff said.

Dude. The Pensevies aint got nothing on you. Aslan is the God

It wasn't my favourite book, there was too much death and it got far too confusing at times, that said I still think it was an amazing book, and had the right amount of fights, tension and romance. However I felt Ron and Hermionies kiss happened to late and the fight scene was too short. I also think there were times when the plot needed to be made clearer, such as in Godrics Hallow and the arrival of the Snatchers. However I have to say one of my favourite chapters ever was in the deathly hallows (Malfoy Manor) and there was just enough emotion to make me cry at dobys and Fred and Lupin and Tonks death. All in all a good book but could do with a clearer plot.

Default What I thought of Deathly Hallows.

I was dying to read Deathly Hallows when it came out but unfortunatley iIdidn't get to until a while later. I was so happy about Tonks and Lupin also Bill and Fluer. I think it was brilliant of J.K. rowling to transform the gowl above Ron's bed into Ron with that disease. When Harry, Hermione and Ron left and went to find the other Horcuxes and Ron left after getting arguing with Harry, i was pretty sad for Hermione. Then i think Harry was being a jerk when he broke his wand then demanded to use Hermione's. I literally sat in a corner and bawled for two hours when Dobby died. Then it was even worst when the book said that Lupin and Tonks and Fred died. I didn't like that they were fighting in Hogwarts and destroying the school but i am happy everything turned out allright afterward, meaning, Voldemort was dead and Harry knew all the answers to his question. It was cool when Mrs. Weasley killed Bellatrix. Well that's all I can say for now. I do have to say though, it you haven't read Deathly Hallow you really should!!! bye d;D

I was both pleasantly surprised and a little disappointed by this book.

Firstly, it handled everything needed to round off the story. It closed a lot of gaps, answered a lot of questions whilst keeping the same quality and style we've all come to expect from the books. It also developed the characters, in ways I had no expected - such as Ron's betrayal, though not entirely self motivated, it was a nice little twist in the Hermione, Ron and Harry relationship. I also enjoyed how Rowling was unafraid to write very outstanding scenes.

But, that said, I think it did take a step away from the previous books in that it was more sensational. The number of deaths within the book surprised me, i expected some, of course, but not in the numbers we got, nor without more explanation of their death. Remus and Tonks come to mind in particular. The way they died was quite unexplained and seemed almost random, something i could appreciate in its realism (you never know when, where or how someone may die), but as a fan of the characters, also felt disappointed by the lack of detail.

The sensationalism also had its bad points in my mind. Within the last book of any series theres the danger of going overboard - because theres the feeling of 'nothing to lose'. But it can be a danger, and although Rowling used this to an advantage, there is also a disadvantage. It makes the book more interesting in places, but I also felt it was just a bit too sensational at times - as though it was really just for show rather than really particular to the plot.

Overall, though i enjoyed it, i felt that it sometimes dragged in places whilst sped up in others. I also found it to jump around a little - not much, but enough to be noticeable and put it at odds with the reader. In general, it was a decent ending to the series, and I had expected less than what we got, so i was pleasantly suprised.

I'd give the final book 7/10 - for being interesting, captivating in places, and for its character and plot development.

"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

Overall I enjoyed this book but it was not my favorite in the series.

How I felt about all the deaths:
Moody: I was stunned at how quickly Rowling had him die. I mean he didn't even make it through the first four chapters!
Remus: I figured it would be too good to be true that Lupin would live since he was my favorite of James's friends. It was also sad that Harry never really got to reconnect with Lupin after their huge fight at the Order's headquarters.
Tonks: SO SAD! I loved Tonks and the fact that poor Teddy lost both his father and mother is just awful.
Snape: I have hated Snape throughout the entire series and I was not sad to see him go. He redeemed himself a bit by showing Harry the memories of him and Harry's mom, but still I think he did so many awful things to Harry that he kind of deserved it. Sorry to all Snape fans out there!
Dobby: Having seriously hated Dobby from everything he did to Harry in the second book, I actually found myself tearing up when he passed. I'm not sure if I was sad that Dobby was dead, or more sad for Harry who was so miserable over Dobby being dead. Either way it was all bad!

Favorite Parts:
-The epic battle at Hogwarts at the end. Amazing!
-Ron and Hermione finally becoming a couple
-The whole breaking into Gringotts plot was awesome
-The conversation between Dumbledore and Harry after Voldemort kills him
-The epilogue, even though I wish it had been a bit longer.

Overall rating: 8/10

The book was awesome ofcourse, as with ALL of J.K Rowling's books. The suspense and the action, especially, kept me clinging on to every page. And also, most of the questions that remained unanswered for the 6 books, were finally explained and cleared out. It also contained a LOT of twists, that wouldn't have been expected.

The only thing I hate I guess, were the deaths of SO many characters. Like for Hedwig's death: she died. Just like that. yes, I know she's just an owl. But STILL... For Dobby, damn. my tears really came out at this part... i was just SO touched that even at the time of death, he mentioned Harry's name... Also, with Snape, how he looked in Harry's eyes... and the list will just go on and on...

Most of the deaths, were of course, explained in detail and was given enough closure. One more thing that I didn't like though was what happened to Lupin, Tonks, FRED, and even Colin... Harry just saw them lying on the ground or being carried around: dead. I mean, they're kinda important to the story and have done a lot for Harry! I don't think they should have just been shoved off dead like that... they deserved a LOT more detail and finality.

The Epilogue, also was a bit too short for me, but it was still great in the sense that everything ended well.

All in all, the book gets a 10/10, despite all the downsides. We Love you J.K!

Thumbs up Great book

I just finished re-reading this book before the movie. I still found it to be thrilling. the sad parts were all the deaths now i am thinking what a dark movie these last 2 will be. The problem i find is that they need Rowling should have gone into more depth about destroying the cup itself. that is the only part that should have had more about. If i just missed a page or tuned out at this part the my mistake and sorry.

I had a hard time putting this book down. It was excellent. Very well put together. I liked how descriptive it was.
I half way dropped my book is shock when Dudley wanted to shake Harrys hand or hug him ((can't remember which it's been awhile since I read the book)) for saving his life. CRAZINESS!
I also practially tearing up when Hermione had to whipe her parents memories about her being their child. I mean I know she did it to save them but it was so sad. ((I cried in the theather when she did it too! Also when she did it to that dude in the coffee shop because you could tell it brought back the painful memory of having to do it to her parents.))
While reading I love how there was so much time spent over Harry thinking about Ginny. I wish the movie showed that more.
I did cry when I read about Hedwig and Dobby crying. So sad. I loved them =[
I pretty much liked every part of the book. I think they may have spent a little too long in the beg of the book over talking to the muggle prime minister...because they didn't exactly fit the rest of the book? The movie didn't even mention anything about it either.
But overall I loved this book.
