24. House elf

Socks was worried. Very worried. He had recieved a christmas present to give to his mistress, Bellatrix, just days before the Christmas holidays. Rodolphus had rather unkindly told him to deliver the present to Bella on christmas day, but being a very busy house elf, Socks had forgotten and had left the present somewhere. With no idea where the present was and Rodolphus being due back at Hogwarts any day now, poor Socks had to decide if he should tell Bellatrix about the mistake before Rodolphus could. The house elf sat alone in the Hogwarts kitchens, sobbing quietly.

90.Present
"Did you like the present I bought you?" Rodolphus asked Bellatrix as he caught up with her.
Bellatrix never answered, but continued walking. She wasn't bothered about the whole present issue. If he never bought her a present for christmas, why should she care. She hated Rodolphus.
"Whats wrong now?"Rodolphus asked with a sigh.
"Not even a card, never mind a stupid present,"Bellatrix muttered darkly.
"What? Didn't you get the present? I asked that ugly house-elf of yours to give it to you?"Rodolphus said, clearly taken aback.
"Of coarse you did," Bellatrix said sarcastically, raising her thin eyebrows and entering the Charms classroom.

10. Arithmancy

"Class," the Arithmancy Professor called, "Professor Mcgonagall would like to talk to you."
The class fell silent as Mcgonagall walked into the classroom. "Now class, this summer we have decided to hold a yule ball. It will be necessary for you to each find yourselfs a dancing partner." She sighed as the girls started talking to each other in a burst of excitment and the boys stared at her in shear horror.
"I'm not going", Bella announced in a loud voice. Rodolphus felt his heart sink at her words, but chose to ignore it. There were plenty of good-looking girls who would just love to go with him.

51. act

Bellatrix was trying to appear happy with herself. After announcing she was not attending the ball, she had quickly changed her mind after news that Rodolphus was taking pretty Darlina Ocean to the ball spread around Hogwarts.
Trying to act like she couldn't care, Bella had proceeded to accept an invitation from Lucius Malfoy. Her younger sister Narcissa was not best pleased, but Bellatrix hadn't a care in the world. Many girls were hoping to attend the ball with Lucius and were now slightly envious of her.

33. Classroom

As the rain thundered down outside, the Slytherins were sitting in an empty classroom at break. Rodolphus was sitting beside Darlina, who was talking to him about what colour of dress she was going to wear to the yule ball, while Rodolphus nodded. He wasn't listening to her at all, but was glaring at Bellatrix who was deep in conversation with Lucius.
"I don't feel too good, I'll see you later,"Rodolphus told Darlina.
"I'll come with you,"Darlina announced, eagerly standing up.
"No, you stay here."
As Rodolphus left, leaving an upset Darlina behind, Bellatrix couldn't help but smirk .

52. bore

"Has Darlina picked her dress yet?" Bella asked Rodolphus at breakfast. Rodolphus shrugged and continued eating.
"I've picked mine," Bella continued,"So, are you looking forward to the ball?"
"Yes,"Rodolphus said, not looking at Bellatrix, but at the girl now standing behind her.
Bellatrix turned around and noticed Darlina.
"Darlina!" Bella said standing up, "This bore here was just telling me how much he's looking forward to the ball! Now, I must go and find Lucius."
As Darlina sat herself next to him, Rodolphus felt sick as he watched Bellatrix leave the hall, her black hair swinging behind her.

64. Nap

Rodolphus entered the Slytherin common room. He had received a detention in Charms so it was about nine o'clock at night when he eventually returned to the common room. Everything was quiet. However, Rodolphus noticed Bellatrix sleeping peacefully in the chair by the fire. He slowly approached, deciding not to wake her. Rodolphus watched her sleeping for about 10 minutes until someone else entered the common room. Snape. Rodolphus muttered a quick greeting to Severus, before heading to the boys dormitory. Snape looked curiously around the common room before noticing a sleeping Bella and smirking. Lying awake in his bed, Rodolphus felt sick at the thought of Bellatrix attending the ball with Lucius Malfoy.

40. Spell

"AAAAHHHHHH!!!"
A scream ripped through the silent atmosphere of the Slytherin common room, waking up Rodolphus and the rest of his fellow Slytherins. He heard people running down the steps which led to the common room and followed quickly, confused. A circle of students had gathered around the fire, some trying not to laugh, others looking shocked. Bellatrix Lestrange was standing by the fire, her eyes burning with a fierce anger, her face covered in black fur.
"WHO DID THIS!"She screamed, causing people to back away. "Rodolphus came in late and was last to the dormitory last night,"piped Lucius Malfoy, who looked as white as snow.
