We just found out that George got married! To Angelina Johnson! So do you think it is a good match? Did you see it coming? How do you think she feels about him only having one ear? This Discussion was started by Linda Black!

As Rowling said, Angelina is Fred's ex, thats why George picked her. I dont think she minds about the one ear, she knows he needs her there to cover part of the hole Fred has left in his life. I guess you could say I did see it coming. George was in tatters after Fred's death.

I think it's a marvelous thing that George and Angelina got married. In a way, it's like JKR gave each of them something back that they had been missing. George knew Angelina and had a fondness for her, it was only natural that he would take up with her after his brother died. And to Angelina, having lost Fred, it was almost like having him back again when she married George. I agree, they both needed one another, and I'm sure she could care less about his ear. I'm sure they really learned to love each other deeply and that their marriage was very successful.

I agree with Linda. I think this is a great match on JKR's part. They just feel right together. I don't know why, but they do. I think Fred and Angelina was too much...umm...stubbornness in a couple, but George is a little more flexible, which compliments Angelina's drive to get things done. I dunno how to explain it.

I think, since Fred was killed, it was the only logical pairing for George. But I like it.

As for his ear, I'm sure Angelina jokes with him about it, but I'm also sure it doesn't bother her.

I like her so why not? F&G have been always very close, haven't they? So what's wrong with it that George got married with the girl who reminds him about his brother?

I think they both needed each other. They both lost someone they loved, so it only made sense that they got together. I was glad when I found out that happened.

For me, it's kind of wierd.
I dunno, but his twin died so he marrys his ex?

Roxanne kinda sounds Georgish to me, its kinda bold and out there, just like George!

I kinda saw George and Angelina getting together after she and Fred broke up, Fred would have wanted George to be happy and He and Angelina were still friends so I though that would have been alright...
But that was before I read Freds sad death, so for a while I wasnt sure if George would still get together with her or if he would consider it an insult to his memory, but I was happy to see that they did!

I think as Linda said to both of them its like they got back Fred.I tthink to Angelina it was almost like she got Fred back and she could care less about the missing ear.It might remind her of her husband's bravery...

I think Angelina misses Fred too, which may be partly why she married Fred; because George reminds her of Fred. They also have a son called Fred.

I was thinking about this and I believe Fred would be happy that George married Angelina. And I believe that Fred was there at the ceremony (in spirit).

Anyways, *sniffle*, I can definitely see them joking about his ear, and Angelina would fit in perfectly with the Weasley family. She'd probably gang up with Ginny againts Fleur....

Fred and Angelina were better as a couple, but George has a very similar personality. It's a good match because they were both on the Quiditch team for a few years, and she can deal with his jokes and his ear and also understand what he's been through. They both lost someone important to them.

Its okay....a kinda like Alicia/George better than Angelina/George. But I'm happy george found happiness!

I think that it is a good match, almost as if they were brought together by the grief of losing Fred. I always thought George wouldn't marry, I thought he would lock himself away, but its good he found someone.

I think they'll make an excellent pair. I must agree that Fread and Angelina were together, but that wasn't really serious. Angelina is funny, daring and she's a quidditch lover, I think she's the perfect match for George. After losing his ear and his brother, he needs someone like that in his life.

*sigh* I see that I'm in the distinct minority here. I really hate this pairing. Since Angelina dated Fred, to me, it's almost as if Angelina couldn't have one so she settled for the other. I really feel like George deserved his own girl, not the girl that was his brother's and now she picked him because he was so similar to Fred. I know that they were twins - looked alike and had similar personalities - but they weren't the same person. I think I'm way too opinionated on this subject though. Yeah, George is a fictional character, but he's my favorite and I'm a little too protective over him, so I prefer him with OC - yes, I read too much fan fiction. *points at tag*

Actually, I'm in denial about Fred being dead anyway. So Angelina can have him, lol. I read a ff called Fox Ears (anyone else read this?) about George and Charlie using a time turner to save Fred. It's fabulous! (and that's what I think really happened, lol)

George was devastated when he lost his brother and Angelina was there for him, not because she was in love with Fred, but because she was really good friends with both of them.

I don't think that George would have even considered dating Angelina, if Fred, his brother, was ever in love with her or she with him.

ummm how do we know they got married? It wasn't at the end of deathly hallows was it? Anyway, I think it's a good pairing but I didn't see it coming. I think they probably have a right laugh though! lol

i agree with most people here i think there a really good match for all the reasons already said i also agree Ginevra_P the book never really said that Angelina or Fred were in love with each other or even dating all we know is that the went to the yule ball together and that could have been just as friends
