I think, in view of the way Fred liked to live, that you could expect the unexpected. It would have been seen to that various pranks were happening to people throughout the funeral, all kinds of crazy stuff would be going on. I do think people would be dressed outlandishly, in order to commerate Fred's personality. It would be very unconventional but still sad, of course (how could it not be?) It would just be the intention to liven things up and remember Fred the way he wanted to be remembered, as a great prankster.

Well, I imagine that there would probably be fireworks worked in at some point George would wear his dragon suit in remembrance of the success they had at the shop. And the founder of Zonko's would probably attend.

Those are just a few things that popped into my head just now

I thought he would of had a twin funeral, twin jokers, jesters, pranksters and everyone had too dress up as the Twins ;D

It would of been just a little something to celebrate the twins relationship wih one another.

I think that George was with Angelina and they both were crying. George was probably was wearing something that reminded him of him and Angelina probably what she wore to the Yule Ball.......I'm not sure

I think that if Fred wanted to come back as a ghost, he would pick his funeral as time time to show up and pull numerous pranks on everyone.
I can see Fred giving Peeves a run for his money!

I don't really either, I just think that he would make an amazing ghost if he chose to go that route

wow- this topic really makes me think.
I think that there would be a huge turnout for his funeral.(if they had one... which they most definately would. *tear*)
but still- I agree that there would most definatley be fireworks. and probably some major display going on.

I bet there was A LOT of people there. I'm sure they were mourning over their loss, but I'm sure it wasn't all sad and dreary. I'm sure Fred wouldn't want anybody to be sad at his funeral, and I'm sure people knew that. So I don't picture his funeral as a sad event, but rather an event of where people rememberd what a good person he was and how he always made them laugh and be happy.

I'm willing to bet on loads of people, such as family, friends, Quiditch members, Diagon Alley shop owners, Hogwarts Professors, their customers, and maybe even some Hogwarts ghosts. George probably rigged up a ton of pranks that Mrs. Weasley wouldn't have been happy about. I see the funeral as strange - Mrs. Weasley trying to keep it more formal (however a formal magical funeral works) with George messing around with things and telling tons of jokes because he knows that's what Fred would want.

I really like the idea of there being fireworks, and I definitely agree that that would be a very appropriate and fitting thing to remember Fred. I bet they probably did have fireworks there!

Anybody who was anybody was probably there (and others). Mrs. Weasley was probably tied up until it was over and everyone wore what they like because Fred never had a wedding. (Who said that, Fred or George? I think it was Fred.

I think that there would be a mass turn out for Fred's funeral, all of his family and friends would be there. There would also be those members of the Wizarding World who would want to pay their respect to this amazing man. A hero who fought the good fight and even knowing what could happen carried on, not fighting for himself but for his family and friends, so that they could live in a better world. A world, without the shadow of Voldemort, lurking around every corner waiting to take over . There would be an explosion of Weasley products on display. Flibuster Fireworks, Sparking Spears, and numerous Whizz Bangs going off at regular intervals, throughout the ceremony. The family along with Harry and Hermione, members of the D.A, and The Order of the Phoenix would give speeches on the bravery, loyalty and character of the one that would be missed so tremendously. Then would come the time when George would walk slowly up to the podium with his head hung low to say his goodbyes, not only to his best friend, but to his brother. Clearing his throat and with a tear in his eye he would raise his head and speak.

"You knew me like no other person and you understood me as no other could. We grew up together and walked in this world side by side. I know that you are waiting on the other side of the Veil for me and that I will see you again someday."

With tears in his eyes he would place a Pensieve upon the top of a table where images of Fred would be displayed for those crowded by the hundreds to witness this tear-filled goodbye. Every person who knew Fred had placed a memory in the Pensieve even Draco Malfoy who was saddened by the death of his once former foe. When the Pensieve finally went out George would wipe his eyes with a handkerchief and blow his nose loudly.

“We had this bond you and I. So I know that you will understand this and I know you would have loved this."

All at once The Hogwarts Quidittch team would fly over trailing a line of smoke in the Gryffindor colors. As dusk settled in to blanket the sky with the first hint of the darkness to come, a massive amount of fireworks would be released. When the smoke cleared there for all to see flew a banner that hung from mid-air a portrait of those who fought on that final day and there stood Fred with his arm around George and Fred had a smile on his face.

I loved that one too ^^. I would just like to add: that at the end there would be alot of fireworks and the last fireworks to spell out: FRED.

Onna, that was absolutely beautiful! I could see it all in my imagination as I read your words...it would be a funeral to beat all funerals, and we know Fred deserved it all! Goodbye Fred! You will always be in our hearts. You will be remembered in the laughter that tickles our ears, you will be remembered at every fireworks desplay or practical joke we see ot hear about. Each flash of color will spell your name in our mind's eye. But, perhaps most of all, you will be remembered as a true and loyal brother, son and friend who stood up for what he believed in even when it was dangerous to do so! Goodbye sweet prince, and may the angels carry you on you to your new journey and the rest you so deserve!

Thank you all for the comments I only wanted for Fred to have a send off like no other. I wanted for George to have his time to say goodbye. I wanted just what tatewin said for you to see through what I wrote the send off of a hero and friend. A man who loved and was loved. To pass on a simple message that every action that we make in our lives touches someone so we need to make the most of all and hope only that what we do is for the good of others always. So once again goodbye Fred may you rest in peace knowing that your scarifice was not in vain and that your family and friends are now safe.

Hmm I think people would have tried to dress and act to crazy, I'm sure that is what Fred would have wanted. They would have tried, but probably failed because they would have been so horribly sad.. I mean, it's Fred... Fred...

i think everybody would be really happy but really sad at the same time fireworks, jokes and pranks from George but he still wouldn't feel the same i also think there would be loads of people because, who doesn't like Fred *wipes tears* and mostly just what everyone else has said

Everyone will surely miss him..he was such an amazing wizard!
