When did they make you laugh? Did you cry at all when Fred died? Or when George's ear died?

I am still upset about what happened to the twins in DH. It just didn't seem fair, and really pretty unnecessary. First George loses his ear, then Fred dies. Why did J.K. Rowling pick the twins for this tragedy to happen to? I was so shocked and upset when I read these things that I almost didn't want to go on reading, even though the book did have a great ending. So sad, I wish it didn't have to be, someone please say it ain't so!

I think George losing his ear wasn't that serious. I mean he didn't really seem to mind, did he? And it is better then dying. When Lupin brought him to the house I thought he was going to die, but he didn't. Fred died so suddenly, I didn't see it coming. It hit me like cold water. I still can't believe J.K. did that.

I didn't like what happened to the twins in DH. I won't say no more due to spoiler bans. lol.

I definitely cried when Fred died. I knew one of the Weasleys would die (not because of spoilers, but because I just knew one of them had to die, maybe more), but I never expected it to be one the twins. I always thought it would be Ron, or maybe even Percy, but not one of the twins!

I was worried about George and his ear, but that was so funneh about the Holey thing!!! and, I was also wondering, that since Harry has the Elder Wand that repaired his own wand which was damaged by Dark magic, could that wand have repaired George's ear?


I so cried when Fred died! I am so not over him!!! I mean, I prefer him over George because he's funnier, braver...cuter! Why did he have to die!!! I know there's no magic than can bring the dead back to life, but I wish the Elder wand would make Fred live again!!!

Freds death made me sadder than anything else in any of the books. He was the best!!!! And George lost one oh his beautiful ears... *snuffles*

It's so sad that George lost his ear. But it kinda made me a littl happier when he made a joke out of it. It didn't seem much of a big deal then. But then Fred had to die!!! No!!! *sobs, sobs* I kinda preferred Fred over George, so... NO!!! Why did Jo have to kill him?! I thought that Ron was gonna die out of all the Weasleys.......

For some reason I thought it was gonna be Percy. I feel terrible that it was Fred, he was my favorite of all the Weasleys. His and Snape's death were just horrible for me, I didn't want to continue reading after those two happened. It was hard.

I went all squeaky when Fred died! My mom was like are you alright? And I was like (in high pitch voice) "They killed Fred!!!!"
I was so sad and yes I cried!
I got all squeaky when George's ear was cut off too!
My mom thought i was tripping throught the whole book

I cried so hard when Fred died! And then I felt so sorry for George, not only did he lose a sibling but he lost a twin! But Fred was my favorite weasley and I think that was the saddest part of the book!

I cried so hard when Fred died, I mean he just got Percy back and everything was going great. Then, bam he's gone. It's just heartbreaking to think that Georige will be left alone, earlesss and twinless. It's always haard to loose a twin, there's a special bond between them that can only be broken by death, and it never comes back. George will be empty for all his life now, knowing his second half is gone.

You know...I always figured that Fred would be the one to die. George...seemed like he was kind of trying to be Fred and now he can sort of come into his own person and still be a prankster *sad smile*

I cried when Fred died, it was all so sudden and kind of cold. It was horrible. I feel sooo sorry for George, because losing a twin surely has to be like losing half of you, and that would be a horrible thing to get over. I hate the way that the Weasleys have lost their spark now Fed's gone and George is on his own.

I agree with you!! It was horrible when Fred died, I had to put the book down and cry for a while (Im the over dramatic lol)! But I LOVED the way she made Percy act to it all! I Loved it, but Im sad that half of the twins are gone!..

I hated when Fred died. I thought that either both of them or neither of them were going to die - I didn't think that just one was going to die! I'm a twin myself, and though we aren't anywhere near as close as Fred and George were, I'd be devastated if my brother died.

When Fred died, I was too shocked to cry! The battle was so lively and active, I had no time to cry! It did upset me though, I was like "nooooooooooooooooooo! Freddy!!!!!"

I cried when Fred died and how Percy reacted to it. I felt so bad, because I love Fred and George so much. And of course it was hard for George, because he lost an ear AND his twin.

For some reason, I never pictured Fred or George as being the one to die; thought it would be Ron or maybe Hermione (i know she's not a weasley, but for main characters that die...).

However, after thinking about it for awhile, there's a lot of symbolism in George losing an ear and then Fred dying. Fred and George were both like the king of pranksters, and no matter what happens in life, nothing can stop a true joke/laugh. They could laugh about anything; from the 'holey comment' to how Fred died with his last laugh on his face. Life has its ups and downs, nothing was made to be easy... but if in the end, you can laugh about it, then you know it was worth the ride (or fight).

Therefore, as sad as Fred Weasley dying was, it was worth it because he made it so. He laughed as death took over him, and that makes him a true hero and will in the end, allow George to keep telling jokes without him.

I miss Fred. Nuff said.

Seriously though, I woulda liked more details relating to his death. and poor George.......what will he be like without his other half???

Yeah!!!!! I wish they had more about how horrible it was that he died! I mean Molly was awesome though lol!

I cried when Fred died. I thought that after George losing an ear, the twins were safe. But noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Well, I was extremley worried when Lupin and George got to the Burrow I thought George was going to die. You know, if he wasn't a wizard from a wizarding family he probably would have died from the loss of so much blood.


I cried when everybody died ecspecially Fred, Tonks, and Lupin. It all happened so fast you didn't see it coming.

I was soooo sad when Fred died.

When George lost his ear, it didn't upset me, though it startled me a bit... I wasn't expecting it. I didn't cry when Fred died, but when Harry went back into the Great Hall and saw all the Weasley's around him. Fred was my favourite of the two, I dunno why - but they were. I think they didn't deserve what happened to them - it didn't seem fair. It was unessecary.
