A corridor on the sixth floor.

With his Hogwarts uniform impeccably clean, Jean Raoul Devereux strode down the sixth floor corridor, subtly looking around him. He may have been walking with extreme purpose and confident, but the seventh year was actually lost. Very, very lost.

He had originally aimed to go to the library, until he realized he had no idea how to get there. Then he had planned to take a walk on the grounds, while the weather was still fair. But when he realized how confusing the staircases were, and how difficult it was just to get from the ground floor to the first floor, Jean Raoul had given up. Now he was just headed to the Ravenclaw Common Room.

And he didn't know where that was either.

Running down from the seventh floor, Alexis looked around to see if TK had followed her? Where was heee?? And was Hippo with Vannah? Gah, these confusing pets. Not paying much attention to where she was going she crashed into a person and ended up on the ground. "Ow." She muttered as she hit the ground. Last time she had fell like this she ended up dislocating her shoulder.

Of course though that was becuase she tripped and not just bumped into someone. And it sooo wasn't her fault. What kinda of smart person sat on the floor in the great hall anyways? Dismissing these thoughts Alexis looked at the boy she had bumped into and had brought crashing down also. He did not look familiar at all. "Hey sorry!! Sorry! My fault. Sorry." Lex said standing up and offering her hand to the guy.

The sound of footsteps had barely registered in Jean Raoul's brain when he suddenly found himself on the floor. On the floor! Oh, the horrors.

"Quite all right, mademoiselle, quite all right," the French transfer said absently as he calmly brushed himself off and stood up. He looked down at the girl and scraped his hair from his forehead. Oh... she had offered her hand. And he had ignored it, oops. He smiled bashfully at the girl.

"All you all right, mademoiselle? You seemed to come to rather an abrupt stop."

Looking at the boy Alexis blinked. Mademoiselle? Weird word. His accent was kind of weird too. Lex couldn't really place it. But she knew she had heard it before. Maybe....Spanish? No that wasn't it. It couldn't have been Italian because she knew that like the back of her hand. And Italian people did not sound like that. Maybe....FRENCH. Yes. It was French.

Grinning Alexis nodded. 'Yup i'm okay. Oookay. Sorry about that again." She was kinda of surprised that he wasn't annoyed with her. Most boys probably would have been. "I'm Alexis Chosen. I don't think I've seen you around before."

Jean Raoul blinked for a moment as the girl suddenly perked up. And why had she looked at him like that, as if pondering something? It baffled the seventh year, but there was no use in questioning the girl. Especially since the context of the question had passed.

"And again, it's fine, mademoiselle," the tall boy repeated. "Ah... I'm a transfer, actually. Jean Raoul Devereux. And it's a pleasure to meet you, Mademoiselle Alexis."

Were transfers to Hogwarts uncommon? Jean Raoul hoped not, and willed Alexis Chosen to somehow guess that he was lost. And that she would be tactful enough to not outright ask if he was lost, for that would be horribly humiliating.

Jeano? No Jean....was like kinda like the pants jeans? And did he said he say one of his names was ravioli? Or was she just going insane? "Nice to meet you Jean...Raviolideverax?" Uhoh. That did not sound like a thing that he said. Oh well. "You can stop calling me Mademoiselle, you know." Lex said happily. "I don't even know what that means."

"Ohhh Transfer! That makes sense. What year are you in? Do you like Quidditch? Why are you so tall?" Lex said blinking at him. It hurt her neck just to try to look at him in the face. She wasn't even short for her age at all. It was just that Jean Ravioli was a giant.

What was it with people having difficulty in pronouncing his name? Jean had never had a trouble with mispronunciations of his name until he moved, but since then he had not met one person who was able to say his name correctly on the first try. Though he had to admit it was entertaining, what people came up with. "Erm... it's Jean Raoul, actually..." he politely corrected her. It would probably be easier to just introduce himself as Jean, but there was no way he would do that. His name was Jean Raoul, after all. No abbreviations required.

"Mademoiselle means Miss, mad- er... Alexis. And I'm a seventh year." Jean Raoul grinned slightly, the skin around his eyes crinkling good-naturedly. "And of course I like Quidditch, doesn't everyone? As to why I'm tall... I couldn't tell you. Quite sorry about that."

Alexis stared at him. Jean Raoul. Yes. That was his name. Jean Raoul. Not Jean Ravioli. That was a stupid guess. But....she wondered if she could get him to agree to let her call him something else. "Hmm...uhuh...can I call you Genie instead?" Lexi asked happily. Blinking at him Lex realized this Jean guy was really weird. He was soo....polite. It was strange.

"I know some people who don't like Quidditch." She answered back simply. So he couldn't explain why he was so tall eh? Well hmm..she guessed that was alright. She could think of many more questions he would probably be able to answer. "Why are you so polite."

Genie. She wanted to call him Genie. Jean Raoul took a deep breath and held it in for a moment before exhaling with a heavy sigh. "No. Sorry. I just happen to be rather... not fond... of nicknames. Again, sorry," he said modestly. He really hated telling people no when they asked things from him, but he had to draw the line somewhere. Like at the name Genie.

"The only people I know who don't like Quidditch are Muggles," Jean Raoul said with a small chuckle. The very few Muggles Jean Raoul knew who knew of Quidditch, meaning his parents, did not approve of the sport. Actually, his mother did not even approve of him playing football with his friends, but he drew a line in listening to her worries as well.

"Polite?" Jean Raoul repeated, his forehead creasing slightly in puzzlement. "I... It's... I was raised to be so polite, I suppose. I've never really thought about it."

Patricia was still walking around, trying to find all her classrooms and cool places to hang out. But now, as she looked up and down the corridor, she wasn't too sure of where she was anymore. Puffing out breath from the corner of her mouth, making a stray lock of hair fly away from her face, she saw a couple of students further on. Luckily for her, one was a Gryffindor and the other a Ravenclaw. Great!, she thought with relief, they might be able to help.

As she came forward, she caught a little of their conversation and was surprised to hear a french accent from the Ravenclaw boy. "Excuse me... Pardonnez moi!" She said both in english and her broken french. "Could you please tell me what floor this is? I think I'm lost, again!" She felt a bit awed and intimidated, speaking to these much older students. But if one never asked, one didn't get many answers, she thought wryly to herself.

Drat. He had said no!! Who even said no to her? That was INSANE! She would get him to say yes! "Have you ever had a nickname before? The name Genie is a reeeeeeaaallllyyy good nickname compared to most." Lex said slyly.

"Well yeah." Lex said with a confused look. Did Muggles even know about Quidditch? Wasn't that like against the rules or something? Well maybe Muggle parents of wizards knew...but did they really know?! "I mean how many muggles do you know that have even heard about Quidditch?"

"Why were you raised to be polite?" Politeness was weird. Crazy. Insane. And Genie seemed that way too. He was also pretty interesting though too.

Hearing a voice Alexis turned to the smaller Ravenclaw. "It's the floor you are on." She said with a grin. "But it is the 6th floor for sure."

Patty smiled a little, "Thank you miss... I'm sorry to have disturbed you." she replied quietly. "This place is really confusing." she added, looking both ways of the corridor. That's when she saw something a bit further along that might be a flight of stairs behind a tapestry. Or was it?

Jean Raoul was distracted by a little voice coming from a little girl... who appeared to be a Ravenclaw. What!? Ravenclaws did not admit they were lost! Even if they were first years... This was going to make Jean Raoul look bad, that he was in a house with people who admitted they were lost. People who asked for directions. Great. He gave the tiny Ravenclaw a tight-lipped smile before turning back to Alexis.

"Yes, I have had a nickname before. I hated it. My name is Jean Raoul, not Genie. I'm terribly sorry, Alexis," he said bluntly. Muggles who knew about Quidditch... haha, what a laugh. The seventh year grinned down at the girl. "Muggles that have even heard of Quidditch... I don't know any Muggles who know what Quidditch is, but my mother knows it's my kind of sport and hates it," he explained. Did that make sense? Well, it made enough sense to him. He could always explain slightly more if absolutely necessary, but Alexis seemed to be fairly perceptive.

"I don't know why... I just was," Jean Raoul said with another chuckle. He had honestly never considered his politeness to be out of the ordinary. It was just part of him, and part of his family. He doubted there was a reason other than that, but who knew? Maybe there was a deeper reason.

Amanda headed up to the 6th floor corridor to be alone. She was just concerned about Alex, since she hadn't seen or heard from her since they were talking that day in Diagon Alley. She just hoped everything would be okay, and she would see Alex soon.

Kayla walked along the corridor blissfully minding her own business. She hoped that she was never late to school again, trying to go over the school in one day was rather tiring but she just had to see it all. Being away from it for so long was more than she could bear.

Rounding the corner she stopped short when she saw Amanda up ahead. Kayla sighed deeply, why was it that she always seemed to run into this girl and she had only been back a couple of days...maybe she should play it nice and see how it goes. Kayla continued her walk and as she got closer to Amanda she gave the girl a small nod. "Amanda" she said as she walked by.

"Kayla..well well, it was nice of you to finally make an appearance at school" She said with a devillishly evil smile. Course she'd play nice for now, there was no need to attack her quite yet. She wanted to show that she had more patience since they last met.

"Ah not bad, I stayed with one of my friends and I got threatening letters from the person out there that's looking for me." She said and smile sweetly, though it truly was a fake smile. She was going to play up this whole nice act as long as she could before the claws came out and she left no mercy.

"Aww...that's no good. I can't understand why anyone would take a disliking to you Amanda" Kayla replied sarcastically. Oops did she just say that out loud and she was supposed to be playing nice too, but the memory of Amanda's little flirtation with Nico had just entered Kayla's mind.
