What do you guys think about Remus's bite? He was bitten as a child because of something his father said... How do you think it impacted his childhood?

I think it affected him very much... remember if it wasnt for Dumbledore he would have never been able to attend school.
He probably wasnt allowed to be around children his age (minus the other Marauders & Hogwarts students)

I think it impacted greatly, not being a normal child, always being locked up in a shack during the great parts in his childhood. While everyone else was enjoying their time at Hogwarts, Remus was always concerned he would attack someone. If it weren't for his friends he probably would have but since DD trusted him so much and Remus didn't want to break that trust, he went inside himself and found inner strength which propelled him into what he is today.

When he was younger before school he was probably sheltered away from the other children, never going out during the night for sleep-overs or parties. He had to learn how to be independant at such a young age he doesn't know what to do now. I give him a lot of credit for being so couragous, and never giving up hope. There's no cure for it and he's moved on, now if only he would go out with Tonks...lol

I think it must have affected him greatly. I think he must have had a sheltered life and maybe that's why he is sometimes shy. I would also think that it must of been very hard on his family with him being a werewolf and they might have blamed him for their problems.

I think it changed his childhood forever in a teribble way, but a good thing is in a way.. is that he could understand other people with problems.

I believe that effected more then just his childhood, it effected who he was. It changed him, drastically and quickly. I could see it hurting, that maybe it was his father's fault. But, being a werewolf is in Remus, it made him who he is, now.

Although if possible, he would surely take that part of him out. I don't believe Remus would be the same man he is now, if he had never been bitten that night..

It totally affected his whole entire life. Once he was bitten, everything changed for him. It was not only not possible for him to have a normal childhood anymore, he could no longer even live a normal life at any time and he knew that. It had to be horrible beyond our imagination, especially the first time he transformed, imagine having to go through something that traumatic as a young child.

It really changed his life. He couldn't have a normal life anymore He's had a hard life, but I'm happy that he handled his condition well.

I would imagine it meant he wasn't really a child at all. He'd be isolated and without friends. He'd have had a monthly agony and he'd have been stressed more than any child should be. That said, I think it made him more of a man than, possibly, anyone in the books. I think he had a lot of maturity from a young age, and knew how to deal with pain and problems. I doubt that would have been a lot of consolation for him, though
