House-Elf Quarters

Tucked away in between two cupboards in the kitchen a tiny elf-sized door can be found. Opening this door, too small for anyone to squeeze through besides a first or second year, will reveal the private living quarters of the Hogwarts house-elves.

This space is warmly lit due to a roaring fire that illuminates the place. Near the fireplace are a few wooden rocking chairs with little patterned cushions on them. Here the elves talk to each other about their work or discuss other elf matters. Lining the walls are bunk beds and pillows for each of those hard-working creatures to sleep on once all of their day's work is done. In spite of the beds being present in the room, there are certain house-elves that prefer to make nests beds of their own from random pillowcases, tea towels, potholders, bits of yarn, old lint, and the like.

Noelle had literally NEVER been to the House elves quarters. She didn't even know if she was allowed down there to be honest. Did house elves get mean and territorial of their space??

But this was a good reason why she was down here. Well.. her and Olly. They had discussed doing something for the house elves. These elves were so hard working and made their stay at Hogwarts 200 times better. They deserved something.

So Olly was supposed to meet her down here. In the kitchens. She'd seen the tiny door to the house elf quarters.... but she'd wait until Olly was here to actually knock on it.

Olly ran up the stairs, taking them mostly two at a time and sometimes jumping even more. He flew right into the kitchen and skidded to a halt next to his partner in crime. Er, his best friend. They weren't committing any crimes here. How could he? Olly was so out of breath he couldn't say anything at first because he was breathing so heavily.

"Sorry I'm late," he managed to get out eventually. "Drawing. Lost track of time." It was not something that should surprise her, considering who she was talking to. Olly just hoped she wasn't mad at him. It wasn't like he was that late.

This was a tiny door. House elf size of course. Noelle wanted to enter but without her partner in crime, she wasn't going to. Behind her back was a basket. Inside it, was filled with little goodies and treats that Nolly had made. Well, mostly Olly seeing as Noelle wasn't the best baker. She followed directions well though, and that came in handy with helping.

Where. Was. Olly??

Noelle just started to pace when an out of breath Olly came sliding into the room. She grinned wide like she always did when he was near. "I figured" Which was true. But she knew that he wouldn't forget. Not something like this! Olly was a giving person. "Hopefully you were finishing something for me?" She asked teasingly, giving him a moment to catch his breath before she knocked on the elf door. "I brought the goodies. Wrapped them up nicely." She said showing the basket from behind her back. "Hopefully they like them."

Because she had no idea what house elves really ate.

As soon as Olly had his breath back enough that he was sure he wasn't about to die, he wrapped his arms around his person and gave her a very squishy sort of hug. The best kind of hug. "You'll have to wait and see," he teased. If Noelle wanted his painting he certainly would give it to her. He'd given her a lot of paintings. She was going to start running out of room for his art eventually.

Noelle's dorm was full of Olly's paintings. She had her favorites behind her headboard. The rest were scattered around the little wall space she held. She was definitely an Olly painting fan. and well.... an Olly fan too.

"Well, you did most of the cooking. Teamwork!" She said giving her person a smile.

Now.... time to knock.

Noelle lifted her hand and knocked on the house elf quarters. Open up please! They have treats for you!

Knock knock knock.

Argyle had only slipped into quarters for a small rest. A rest that ended with the sound off knocking coming from the kitchen side of the door. The house-elf waddled over to it and opened it, curious to see who it was. Only a small portion of the Hogwarts population came to the kitchens all that often and an even smaller group even registered the door was actually a door and not just another cabinet.

In this case it was a duo of older students there outside the elf-sized door. "Mistress...Master..." Argyle greeted with a half-squeak. "What can Argyle do for you?"
