In the end north side of the street of Diagon Alley, sandwiched between Quality Quidditch Supplies and an intersecting alley that leads to Knockturn Alley, sits a small building made of light grey stones. A peal of small bells made of gold tinkle together in a rather quiet unison as the glass door of the shop opens and reveals the stationary supplies store, which is brightly lit thanks to the front glass window that allows sunlight to filter inside the shop. The smell of the store is a surprisingly pleasant combination of wood, old parchment, ink and, shockingly enough, scented candles.
Every single inch of the store seems to be crammed with shelves full of the artifacts sold at the shop, and though it might look and sound messy, the place is surprisingly organized, and whatever item that costumers might be looking for, can undoubtedly be found easily; rolls of parchment, stationery sets, quills made of the most unthinkable and exotic feathers, and every imaginable sort of decorative paper -– you think of it, and this store has it. Inks are the place's specialty, and as such, here you'll find ink of every colour and style that you could possibly imagine.
Behind the tall and smooth wooden counter, the shopkeeper can normally be found. With a frown on his forehead, the shopkeeper is usually busy sorting through piles of parchment, which would be stock orders, bills, magazines, or just plain letters that have been addressed to him. This is the place where you come if you are in need of help, or to pay for the items you wish to acquire at Scribbulus Writing Implements.

AND she had let him borrow a ton of books which was just an instant recipe for friendship. "You really REALLY don't mind?" Because he asked her for help WAY too much now.
Wait. A Fwooper? "What's a Fwooper? I don't think I've heard of that bird before.." Had seen the flamingo quills though, and peacocks! He knew those two. "And your older sister was a fan of those too then? Because she liked the... Fwooper?" Whatever it was.
vnjreknfljmoit. Did she just suggest color coding their Friend Bucket List? E was pretty convinced Solana was his match from best friend heaven. "I LOVE that idea! It'll make it easier to pick which things to do next!"
Sol shot E a glance and shook her head. “Please!” She never minded anything with him.. showing him around was fun for her, and she got to show off just a bit for her friend. She kinda liked doing that. And really any moment spent with Evan was a good one! “Since when do I ever mind being with you and showing you stuff? ” She said as she bounced on her toes again as she looked around to see what she should take him to first!
But., ohh goody another question to answer!
“Ohhh! A Fwooper is a brightly colored magical African bird, whose cry drives whoever hears it insane. They can be pets, But they are sold with silencing charms, so as to not drive whoever buys them,. Bonkers. ” She said with a grin.
“Mmmm, Az adores them, even has one now.. so I love them as well. ” She grinned at him happily, as she fiddled with the edge of her shirt.
Yayyy!! He liked her idea.
“Right? Goodness it’s going to be so awesome E! ” She leaned forward on her toes as if to hug him again, but instead did a quick turn and beckoned him towards her. “This way. ” She said with a soft smile.

Tugging on a strand of hair as she pushed into the shop Charlie glanced left and then right at all of the ink and amounts of things that she usually made her mother get for her. Now at 14 she needed to come in herself. Sometimes she needed different inks for different things. Like what if she needed to write a note to a crush, or a note to a friend. There had to be some fun inks she could find.
Stepping further into the room she looked around again trying to find some pretty pink ink, that would be perfect for notes to her crushes. She had this all figured out if you couldn’t already tell. Taking a deep breath and tugging on a curl she stepped further into the room.

Zayn really wasn't a fan of school shopping. Mind you, he enjoyed school as it challenged him. Shopping, however, did no such thing for him, unless you considered forcing him to be sociable a challenge. Which, honestly, it was. Nevertheless, there he walking down the alley, a few shopping bags being lugged about, as he tried to weave his way through the crowd. Once Scribbulus was in sight, he darted toward the shop door, certain that it would be less chaotic in there.
And it was significantly quieter inside the shop. That and the smell of fresh parchment was rather calming to him. Quietly and trying not to ruffle the bags he had brought with him, he began making his way down the aisles in search for a new quill and his favourite colour of ink.
Making his way deeper into the shop, he took in the sight of another person. He was familiar with who she was since they were in the same year, but he couldn't say they had interacted a whole lot during their time Hogwarts. The debacle of whether he should say something or not came to Zayn's mind. In the end, he decided to speak. "Hi, Charlie."

Fowl was looking forward to Hogwarts, of course. The castle seemed cool from what he'd read, and the grounds quite vast. There was no need to deny that he was excited but, unlike many of his classmates, he wasn't all jumpy and shriek-y about it. All wizarding kids eventually had to learn how to control their magic and most, if not all, of them who lived in the UK went to Hogwarts. It felt more of a natural process than a huge deal to him.
Feeling like the big boy that he was, which he enjoyed gloating about now that he was eleven by the way, Fowl pushed the door open to Scribbulus for both him and his Riri. He knew he needed quills of every kind, and maybe inks of various colours if he had spare coins for that, for Hogwarts. For homework, for note-taking, for the little scribbles he'd make when lyric-worth phrases come into mind. On top of that, the shop smelled nice. Wood. Scented candles. Almost natural.
"Hey, Riri?" The eleven year old said, picking up an inkwell of glow-in-the-dark ink to give it a little shake and inspecting it. "Did you know there are colours recommended for better memory retention?" Fowl felt like sharing that bit of information, even when he knew his older sister probably already knew too. Riri was smart, after all, and is, simply put, everything Fowl looked up to.

Glancing over the different pink inks, some with shimmer, some with magical properties, it hit her that she may not be able to decide today. Maybe she should just come back another day. Tugging on another curl she turned at her name.
She smiled the face was familiar, they were in the same year. Ugh she should absolutely know his name. Come on Charlie. Finally she remembered and a smile grew on her face, “Hey Zayn. How’s your summer?” She could keep it casual and then he wouldn’t feel awkward or anything right?

He couldn't help but notice that she was looking at the pink inks. Zayn didn't make a comment about that, even though it was a bit impractical in his opinion. Darker colours -- like the navy he had been eyeing up during his debate on whether or not he should say hello -- were easier to read against yellowish parchment, but to each their own.
Those thoughts were soon distracted by the smile that was on her face and the fact that she remembered his name. Normally all of that, especially the growing smile, was a good thing, but for him, well, it made him feel ... well, he didn't really know how to describe it. It was nice, but ... girls ... boys ... it was all very complicated.
"My summer was good," he responded quickly. "How was yours? Ready to head back to school?"

The color was amazing on black parchment but he may not have tried that yet, she would have to write him once to let him know. She was sure that after a cute little note from her he would understand her desire to look at the pink inks. Turning a bit further away from them so she could focus on him more fully she nodded her head at his answer.
Ah just good, did he mean that it was boring, or that he was worried about boring her? She always meant what she asked, unless someone was asking about an outfit then she tried to err on the side of caution. "Oh, mine was alright bit boring. I actually am, starting to miss my friends." Although she supposed that he may feel the same way.
