Post SnitchSeeker talks 'Fantastic Beasts' teasers & challenges with Yates, cast in Paris

SnitchSeeker headed to the world premiere of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald in Paris last week and had the chance to speak with some of the cast involved, as well as director David Yates (who confirmed to SnitchSeeker that he's already at work on Fantastic Beasts 3).

Yates briefly commented on some of the newest challenges that came from helming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and how those different from the final four Harry Potter installments he directed, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Quote:
SnitchSeeker: This is the sixth Wizarding world movie you've worked on. What's been the newest challenges?
David Yates:
This one is really balancing the multiple stories - there are so many characters, there are so many storylines. It's giving each one the proper weight, so it feels cohesive and it retains momentum. That was the biggest challenge for me.
Jude Law, who brought a younger Dumbledore to life in the saga, briefly commented on the road he'd like to see his character go down as the series continues.

Quote:
SnitchSeeker: Family is such a big thing in Dumbledore's life, and has been talked about in the Potter books, so where would you like to see Dumbledore's character go, in this movie?
Jude Law:
I think it would be interesting to see how he finds the inner peace and the serenity of as he appears as an older, older gentleman.
Claudia Kim, like so many fans, thought about where her character Nagini would go in future installments, including when and where she would eventually meet Lord Voldemort.

Quote:
SnitchSeeker: We know where your character goes, but how would you like to see her where she is now to where she'll be in Harry Potter?
Claudia Kim:
I want to see if she discovers that ability to being able to speak parseltongue, does she ever go into Hogwarts, or where does she meet Tom Riddle? Yeah, those are my next questions.
Finally, SnitchSeeker spoke to actor William Nadylam (apologies on the typo in the video), where he teased the story behind his Fantastic Beasts character Yusaf Kama and how he may tie in to future movies.

Quote:
SnitchSeeker: Tell me about the character; how does he come into this story?
William Nadylam:
My character, OK. My character is someone who's on a quest. He's someone son and someone's brother. His story is one that has been interrupted, and he's trying to reconnect the dots. He's trying to rebuild the story, he's also trying to salvage the memory of his family.

What I love about my character is that he's trying to restore the dignity and pride of his mother. And that's something that matters to me.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is the second of five all new adventures in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World™.

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

The film features an ensemble cast led by Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Carmen Ejogo, Poppy Corby-Tuech, with Jude Law and Johnny Depp.

“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is directed by David Yates, from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling. The film is produced by David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram. Tim Lewis, Neil Blair, Rick Senat and Danny Cohen serve as executive producers.

The film reunites the behind-the-scenes creative team from the first “Fantastic Beasts” film, including Oscar-winning director of photography Philippe Rousselot (“A River Runs Through It”), three-time Oscar-winning production designer Stuart Craig (“The English Patient,” “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Gandhi,” the “Harry Potter” films), four-time Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood (“Chicago,” “Memoirs of a Geisha,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”), and Yates’ longtime editor Mark Day (the last four “Harry Potter” films). The music is by eight-time Oscar nominee James Newton Howard (“Defiance,” “Michael Clayton,” “The Hunger Games” films).

Slated for release on November 16, 2018, the film will be distributed worldwide in 2D and 3D in select theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures.

This film is rated PG-13 for some sequences of fantasy action.
