Default Transfiguration Lesson I - Always Take The Weather With You

If you care to glance out of the corridor windows on your way to the Transfiguration classroom on this mid-October morning, you’ll notice that the sky is typically dreary for this kind of year -- grey and overcast. Don’t let that get you down in the dumps though, Professor Darlington has quite the lesson planned.

Upon entering the classroom, you’ll be surprised (or not, this is Hogwarts after all) to find that you haven’t walked into a classroom at all. The classroom has been charmed into what appears to be a large, open clearing outside on the grounds. It’s still morning, but in here the sky is a clear pale blue and there isn’t a cloud in sight.

The only thing out of the ordinary you’ll see, is the portable blackboard in the middle of the clearing and this is where Professor Darlington is standing and waiting, arms crossed and expression neutral.

Well, don’t dilly daddle! Come on in and find a spot to stand.

OOC: Welcome everyone! Class has started! Come on in and let's have fun! Remember, although this is the first RPed Transfiguration class of the term, your kiddos will have had lessons with Professor Darlington already. We’ll move on in about 24 hours.

He watched as the cloud managed to get into the air. He thought about bad weather and decided on wind. He pointed his wand at the sky and prepared for a gust of wind in his mind, "Tempistas Horribilis" He waited to see if the wind would pick up and maybe make it harder for Madison to get her cloud to do anything.
Patrick was making another cloud, and Madison knew that she wanted to send some rain his way, since she had already had fun with snow. Maybe a bit later on she would cause some hail, but she didn’t want to do that right now.

Of course that was proving to be a lot more difficult now that she had to deal with wind. Good job, Patrick! Now there was even more of a challenge, which made things funner. Madison had to speak loudly as she went to send some rain down on him. "Tempistas Horribilis" Now he would have to deal with rain. Hehe.

Other than the little fire incident, *the class had mostly been an uneventful one. They weren’t terrible. But then again, they also weren’t the most talented bunch either. Sadly.

“That’ll do everyone,”
she said loudly, returning to her spot in front of the blackboard and flicking her wand, causing all the clouds and weather to poof away. “Many of you could do with more practice if you want to excel in this subject, but unfortunately today we’ve run out of time.”

“For homework, I want a detailed essay on why this spell mustn’t be used in close proximity to muggles and how it could impact our environment if used incorrectly. No less than 500 words, due this time next week.
” She paused, green eyes narrowing as she dared any of them to moan and groan about it.

“Return your rain macs and use a drying charm if you need to.”
She didn’t need anyone slipping in the corridors, please. “Class dismissed!”

OOC: Thanks for playing everyone!! That’s it, class dismissed. You can have your charries finishing up if you want, I’m gonna lock this thread in 24 hours.
