He couldn't help but smile as she talked about her brother's job. "Well all jobs are different, so his might not have the great employees like I have or they have stronger deadlines. We have plenty of deadlines, but lucky for us they can be spread-out at times and if they do come quickly we have enough people working to help pitch in. Like today actually." He smiled knowing some of them helping weren't part of immigration.

Grabbing another file he opened it to fully see the date of the visa, "Wow, this one is a bit overdue." He jotted down the name and the information he needed and set the file aside. He hoped the division head was ready for some work because the out of date pile and almost expired piles were starting to add up. He was glad to hear she liked what she was doing. He had some thoughts and had already started to make his ministry closed to do list. He'd been wanting to have someone on one conference soon, but it might have to wait until they had come back.

Looking up when Claudette had come in he nodded with a smile, "It's alright, you were working. Plus getting the updates that way is better than needing to track them down after we find out they aren't up to date here." He pulled a few more files from the stack. "Go ahead and jump in to the files. I do have a stack here of expired so those will need to be looked at and meetings set up with the individuals. If they are back in their own country they correct paperwork will need to be filed so we can put them away."

He scribbled a few more things before looking up at everyone. "Do you have the file that you just did on the man?" He could put that in the processing pile since he had to start one of those soon.

It was a relatively straightforward task, thought Emily as she grabbed a stack of files and began shifting through them. She didn't join in the conversation at first, and she didn't even notice when Claudette joined them.

Mostly this was because she hadn't slept well at all last night and someone had trampled parts of her garden. She suspected angry gnomes, but couldn't be sure.

"Ah, this one'll be overdue after today," she said, breaking her silence. She took out a red marker and slashed a line through it.

So much was going on! They had a name, they had a location,
they had thoughts of places. It was all coming together. His team had worked so hard and he was actually sad to have seen Sleater leave before seeing this all come to an end. The man was part of the reason they had the information they did. Though he knew he was excited to start his new career, so he couldn't help but feel okay about it. He had lost two employees over break, though one he wasn't fully losing since he was stepping in as an ambassador. They would be meeting with them very shortly.


For now, Erec had packets for each employee to see. Inside had a name, Rodrick Micheals he was the main suspect, he was the American smuggling eggs. There was a picture taken of him and information about him and his location. Also, he had brought a white board in for this, he wasn't having just a laid back meeting today, no, this was a serious one. The teams had been working very hard for over a year on this and they finally had the guy. After today a few other departments would be brought in as well, but his team deserved to hear everything first. They would all have jobs to do.

The first thing that Rani noticed when she came into her workplace was the memo from their department head. Apparently, there was going to be a very important meeting for all the International Cooperation employees. The way it was addressed, the woman believed it to be urgent and so she didn't hesitate. She made her way to the conference room, where she had last been to when she was sorting out those expired passports and files. She made a realisation that she would probably be coming to this room often, since Erec held quite a lot of meetings.

Rani pushed open the conference room door and noticed first that she was literally the first employee who entered the meeting. It was only Mr. Delacroix present in here, aside from her as of the moment. "Hello, Sir," the raven-haired twenty seven year old greeted her boss with a smile as she closed the door behind her. "I... must be early." Was she? Or maybe she didn't properly read the memo and might have missed out the time schedule.

Nevertheless, she went over to find herself a seat. Hopefully she got it right, and that her fellow employees would come pouring in soon.

After attending the W.E.R.P conference Claudey had thrown herself back into the work that awaited her on level 5 after the christmas break. As always the amount of urgent memos, files and cases to take care of always stacked up when you were away. Work sadly didn't stop just because you had a vacation. Slinging a few blond strands of hair back between her ears the blond left her cubicle with her notepad and quill and ink under her arm for the URGENT department meeting that Erec had called.

Claudey assumed that it had something to do with the egg smuggling business that some of her colleagues had been working with non-stop over the last year. Or it could be to welcome new colleagues or both. Entering the conference room and closing the door some moments later Claudey waved to first Erec and then Rani as she walked closer to the table with a cheery smile pursing her lips. "Hello Sir and Rani!"

Slipping into one of the vacant seats next to Rani and her eyes landed curiously on the packets, but she didn't ask what they were for.

One didn't waste time after receiving an important memo from the boss. Well at least Emily didn't, not if she could help it. So she arrived exactly on time, wearing her usual standard sky blue suite and purse - a quick quotes feather following behind obediently.

"Hello Sir," she said, smiling courteously at her boss. 'Hello Rani...Claudey..." So far two of her co-workers were here. She wondered if you know who was showing up.

Of course she noticed the packets. "May I ask what is in those packets, Sir?"

It was odd thinking about how her niece and nephew were both already at Hogwarts. Riley a fourth year and Ailis a first, and Caoilainn was basically three years out from starting herself. Definitely weird, but the other side to that was that her kids were old enough that it was easier to handle them. Easier on her parents, Jeremiah, Isabel and even Patrick if he wasn’t at the shop. Easier on her when it came to getting to work on time. The still-pink-streaked hair was only the slightest bit disheveled as Kendall had gotten to her desk and noticed the memo about a meeting. URGENT meant important, so after snagging some chocolate from her desk drawer, she had made her way over to the conference room.

“Good morning Mr. Delacroix,” she greeted him, noting the lack of snacks but the presence of the whiteboard and the packets on the table near the department head. “Hi Rani, Emily, Claudey,” she added, slipping into a seat near Claudette. She had chocolate if anyone wanted any. Even a serious meeting could use snacks.

Being a Division Head meant getting the news earlier compared to his staff in Enforcement, and apparently, this news...or update if you may, have been on the top of his priority list this year. With or without his department head, Albert knew better than to depend on Becca entirely. In fact, he's in Level 5 not because he was told to be there, but because he needed to be there as the Enforcement's Division Head. It did seem that he's bypassing the chain of authority by being there without Becca's consent, but having the initiative to get things done was his primary drive. If he had to be 10 steps ahead without jeopardising his Division, then his presence shouldn't raise any concern whatsoever.

Dressed in his usual attire, Albert pushed the door open to where a small group of employees have gathered and paused at the spot opposite Erec Delacroix. With an air of elegance and a hint of arrogance, he took in the details of the space first and then acknowledged the man helming this Department. "Mr Delacroix, a very good morning to you. Ladies." he said in a confident tone, giving each of them a polite nod of the head and a minuscule smile. "May I sit down?" he asked gesturing to an available chair, well away from the rest of them. He was, after all, a distinguished guest.

Erec waited for his employees to come into the meeting, while he was waiting he skimmed through the papers. As he heard the door open he looked up. Usually, he would have seen them coming through the class, but this time he was too preoccupied. Standing as he watched them come in he nodded in a greeting. "Hello" Usually friendly, but today he meant business so his more professional tone was around.

Looking at his watch he was getting impatient, which wasn't something he really liked to be. He usually enjoyed being laid back and easy going, but this meeting was the most important he had in his career. Looking at Emily as she asked the question. "These packets are two years worth of information on the egg smuggling we've been working on." He glanced around the room knowing all the returning employees would know what he was talking about, but the new might not know it all. Seeing the person from creatures he extended his hand. "Thank you for joining us."

It was time to get started so he stood. "As I said this packet holds all the key evidence in our smuggling case, but we still have some ends to tie up. In here you will find the key suspect that will be handed over to MLE. I have asked creatures to join us because we have collected some of the eggs. Once the testing team is done with them they will be transferring them, but if Mr. Morgenstern would like to examine them in our testing area as well to see how many he is welcome, I hope one of you will escort him." Was any of his testing team there?

"Now he is an American so I need my immigration looking at his file, he's had a few connections I need an immigration scan done on as well. Their names are in the file (Cutty Mordaunt and Soracha Mordaunt). We will need someone to go speak to transportation as well, have them keep an eye on portkeys, floo, to make sure things aren't being missed." He has tasks for all departments.

"Any questions so far?"

"It is my pleasure to be here, Mr Delacroix." So they were already starting? Good. He likes being prompt and getting down to business right away. Although his request to take a seat had been snubbed, Albert didn't take it to heart and simply stood with Erec, and slowly paced the available space left to him-- his left hand in his pocket and the other stroking his chin. He could not help but think of the other missing details...perhaps most if not all were indicated in the packets, but who seriously has the time to go over it when the culprits are right under their noses?

Albert stopped pacing and turned to face the DIMC team squarely, his chest puffed out to signify that he was listening. "Thank you Erec. Doing my own test would be better...and would perhaps yield more interesting results for the DMC. However, before we all take a look, would anyone know what kind of eggs are we talking about?" Dragon eggs? Hippogriff eggs? The reports he'd been getting were actually of little importance to him. It was all about tracking their whereabouts but not much about what exactly they have smuggled. He wouldn't call out on anyone for the lack of detail because that would only be a waste of his precious time, It was also why he was in attendance today. He wanted to know first-hand the information most dear to him and his department.

As more employees came in the conference room, Rani gave each of them a smile and a polite nod. She was in a rather professional work mood, considering just how formal her department head was acting at the moment. She didn't mind, of course. Work was work. As for the man who had just came in, the woman was sure he didn't come from their department. For three years and counting, Rani had been working with the International Cooperation department and not once did she see him in their level. Perhaps he was a guest? An important person who had business with Mr. Delacroix? She was yet to know.

Oh, right. This was definitely about the egg smuggling incident they have been working on for quite a while now. Rani was relieved to know that they finally had a lead on the culprits. The raven-haired twenty-seven year old listened intently and nodded as Erec shared more information regarding this issue to all of them. It was all... interesting.

And now their department head was giving each team a task to do. Being under the foreign relations division, Rani waited for something she could offer to help. She wasn't part of the testing team, so escorting Mr. Morgenstern was out of the question. Someone with skills in that field would be more suited. And she wasn't an immigration officer, either, though she did help out sorting the files before the holidays. Aside from that, she had no idea.

Rani raised her hand a little at the mention of sending someone to the Transportation department. That sounded like a job for a relations officer! "I can head over to Level 6, sir," the woman offered with a smile. "Is there anything you'd want for the Transportation head to know?" Details? Security checks? She wanted to make sure she covered everything once she paid a visit there. One visit was enough to disseminate information.

Having abandoned her favorite game of 'see who's paying attention' as this meeting seemed rather serious, Sky was seated at the table quietly shifting through the packet of information provided when said meeting began. And she had to admit, she didn't like what she was hearing. Did the Creatures department not trust them? Or did they just think they could do a better job of the testing teams job? If it had been up to her, she would've just told the Creatures man to trust them. But Mr. Delacroix had already told the guy it was okay publicly, so she couldn't refuse.

But that didn't mean that she had to be happy about it.

"They're basilisks, sir." Which he would've known if he were looking at the information packet that had been handed out. And yes she was sure, seeing as one had hatched on her. Thank goodness she hadn't been bitten.

The egg smuggling case was something they'd been working on for two years, and as official Undercover Buyer and Magical Trade Personnel, Emily had been very close to this case. Her emotions right now were a combination of grim satisfaction and controlled excitement. Things didn't seem like they could go wrong from here, but she knew they had to be careful.

"I volunteer to run a scan on Cutty Mordaunt and Soracha Mordaunt," she said, leaning forward. Her curiosity was pricked. And she could also volunteer to accompany Mr. Morgenstern if needed, though perhaps someone else was more qualified.

He was getting a bit agitated and it wasn't because of anything his employees were doing, but it was just the vibe in the room. His first glance was towards the creatures person, what was his name again? They had been conducting the investigation for two years now on the Dragon Eggs and he was going to come in and just take them? "Well I think as I said before my testers can take you to the lab and show you the eggs. Once they have completed their tasks on them for our department they are all yours. They check for any smuggling charms or curses. If you would like to run any test there while they do that you are more than welcome. I know Miss Carter-Hope can take you there once we are finished."

Speaking of Miss Carter-Hope he gave her an interested look. "There was a Basilisk egg mixed in?" Had he missed that in a report? All the smuggling had been with the dragon eggs. Looking back to creature man he shifted a bit, "Dragon Eggs, Romanian Longhorn to be exact. As the reports show Mr. Micheals has been smuggling them the past three years from Romania and his final destination is to be Canida, but it seems he was getting some extra cash to send eggs to other countries as well. My Ambassadors have all filled out where ministries have come up with these eggs as well as my employees have been doing the investigation here in the UK." That's all they needed was muggles to end up with an egg some how.

Glancing at the rest he nodded towards Kitty, she was very eager to help, which was great. "Very good, but I will need you to team up with one of our immigration officers. We will need to look into their status here, plus if they are a citizen one of our passport staff can help see if they have been traveling recently." That could help them figure out if they were helping Mr. Micheals or not. "If we get enough evidence on them and would like to bring them in for a chat let me know and I will gladly sit in on it."

Good, good they were getting somewhere.


Now his eyes went to Rani as she said she could head to level six. "Thank you for the offering. You can take a packet up so she can see what is going on. I need them to keep an eye on floo, portkeys, any type of transportation that could seem suspicious with these three at the moment. Mr. Micheals doesn't leave this country. I will be taking the info to MLE a bit later today so that they can handle the arrest."

Aaannd.....this particular American was now pinching the bridge of her nose. 'Cause it was obvious now that whoever had written the report on their testing had failed to mention the basilisk eggs. Which had inadvertently sort of confirmed the Creature man's apparent viewpoint and made her look bad not only in front of the Department Head, but someone from a different department to boot. Grrr.

"Basilisks, sir. As in, more than one. I did mention it to my fellow testers, I don't know how it managed to be left out of the report. I dealt exclusively with them, had no idea about any dragon eggs." What a mess.

Anyway....

"Mr. Morgenstern, follow me, if you will." Sky stood up and began to lead the way to the testing area.

Katja had taken a quick moment to adjust her fascinator and touch up her lipstick before sauntering into the conference room. She was displeased to see that it still bore its usual striking resemblance to a bubble. Was it too much to hope that it would be redecorated? She'd said hello to everyone who was already here upon her arrival, paying extra attention to Mr. Delacroix and the gentleman from Magical Creatures (Albert).

She already knew about the egg smuggling operation, having worked on the case for the past two years herself, but she still took a moment to look over the packet, just in case there was anything she'd forgotten. What, basilisks?! She thought they were working with dragon eggs. Had she missed something? The knowledge was surprising, but the only outward sign of emotion she displayed was the slight raise of a perfectly sculpted eyebrow.Goodness, how embarassing! she thought as she listened to Miss Carter-Hope's explanation. Thank Merlin no one in Immigration had made such an egregious error!

The Immigration Division Head was just going to volunteer to run a scan on the Mordaunts when Miss Valentine spoke up. "I can help with that scan," she offered with a smile. She couldn't wait to get started! She was determined to uncover as much information as possible to help the case.

This was a good thing. They needed a more serious though he hated it and rather have the laid back meetings he always had. "Once this is all over we will have a team outing. Maybe a quidditch match or something." He'd find something for them to do.
For now though business was the most important thing. Nodding as Sky left with Mr.
Morganstern he turned to the rest of his group.

"Katja I think working with Emily is a good idea. Please make sure to check all the immigration files on these three and go to the passport office and check there as well. We need to collect all the documentation because this isn't just our ministry involved now." MLE would most likely need to send him back to America or even Romania for his sentencing.

Now that it was all laid out he looked at the notes again. "I will be holding an Ambassador meeting in the next few weeks with Charles, so if anyone would like to attend to talk about what's going on you are welcome, but I need to see what other countries have been involved. Plus with our trade show in the works, I need to know where we are on that." He glanced to any of his foreign trade group, he would be speaking to them soon about that.

"Rani please go ahead and head to transportation for me as well." That was another piece of the puzzle that could be put together. Putting the packet away in his bag he stood. "That's all I have for now, please go ahead and get to work on this and thank you for all your help."

Was he a little stressed, yes, yes he was.

A pair of sharp, ice-blue eyes darted from the department head to the woman who answered his query. "Basilisk eggs?" The information was met with a frown and furrowed brows, and the scowl deepened when Erec seemed confused by their own report. Not only was the MLE not doing their job inspecting places for chicken coops, but this department seemed to be inconsistent with a simple intel. It was a good thing that Erec thought it wise to invite him over to Level 5 for this brief meeting. It did look like they needed an expert.

Albert, with his nose in the air still, took a step forward and reached his hand out towards the packet, but stopped to look up at the other woman when she mentioned the name Mordaunt. Being a Morgenstern, it was hard to miss that name. His family had been rubbing elbows with their fellow elites, but Merlin knows if Alfonzo Mordaunt ever spawned a son outside of his marriage and produced more members under a prominent...almost exclusive surname, unofficially?

Huh. And just like that, things got more interesting for the Creatures man.

Albert picked up the packet in a delicate way and fished out the report from within, and scanned it quickly with his eyes, allowing Erec to fill him in with the rest of the information that was not on the report. If he were still teaching in Durmstrang and in University, the report he was holding would've definitely ended up in his firepit. He was, however, able to suppress his annoyance, and picked the information he needed. Romanian Longhorns. Golden horns that are prized potion ingredients and are tradeable. Above all, the eggs that they have now are quite rare despite the Romanian Dragon Reserve's effort in their intensive breeding program. He would know, considering that he holds a place in the Russian Dragon Reserve's Board of Directors. "Very well, Erec. As the confiscated subjects are technically under our jurisdiction, I will have my personnel take the eggs from your care, once your employees are done with their own tests. Rest assured that I will personally give you a copy of the laboratory results, as well as the next steps to be done to ensure that these eggs are properly turned over to the right authorities."

Albert held the folder in his arm as he looked at the woman who would lead him to the testing room and a quick glance and nod towards Erec, "I shall take my leave now. If you have any questions, Mr Delacroix, I will be more than happy to accommodate you in Level Four." And with that, Albert strode out of the glass bubble and followed Ms Carter-Hope to Level 5's Testing Room.

The boa constrictor patronus found its target pretty easily. Slithering into the room, wagging it's tongue as a real snake might, the fake, transparent snake climbed into the table and stopped in front of the Department Head. "We have a situation. One of the basilisk eggs has hatched and escaped from its egg carton. The creature is now loose somewhere in the department," it spoke with the voice of one Sky Carter-Hope.

Its message now delivered, the snake disappeared.

Now that the meeting was over Erec had some other business to get to. Collecting his things he shuffled the papers and got everything in his bag just as he saw something that probably would have made him jump back if he was afraid of snakes at all. To see patronuses at times was to be in awe of their forms and this snake that just came slithering in was something that left him in awe only until the voice came out. A voice he recognized to be Skye's.

Well, this was not good.

"Looks like our work is going to have to be placed on hold. I need all the department on the look out for at least one basilisk." Was it just one or did they even know? Since he didn't even know about the damn eggs being mixed with the dragon eggs. "Anyone that can figure out which place these basilsk eggs came from will get a paid day off from me." Yes, he did reward his employees for hard work and finding out where the snake eggs showed up from would be a task.

Now with that said he left the conference room to find a deadly snake. Thank Merlin it was just a baby and loose he'd have his job taken if it was old enough to kill people.

Claudette sat in her seat next to Ran curiously eying Erec's name tagged packets in silence. When the meeting started she made big eyes as the facts were revealed that the trio they were after had not only been smuggling romanian longhorned dragon eggs but at least one basilisk too. Shaking her head Claudy scribbled down notes as Mr Morgenstern from the Creatures department joined them and it was interesting to see the slight power struggle that ensued between him and her own boss. Mr Delacroix came out as the winner Claudey deemed as Mr Morgenstern agreed to not take the egg's with them before their tests had been finalized.

Erec then issused taskes that Skye, Rani, Emily and Katja quickly nabbed before she had the chance to even open her mouth. Claudey supposed that she could offer assistance to Emily and Katja but three people doing one task seemed like a waste of resources. Before the blond had a chance to ask Erec for a task when a snake patronus slithered into the room and spoke in Skye's voice about a lobby situation. A basilisk egg had hatched and now a snake was on the loose. Oh dear....

As her boss made to leave Claudey shouted after him remembering her CoMC lessons "Don't look the snake directly in the eye......It can petrifiy you." or even kill you. But this was a baby so maybe it wasn't as lethal? Forgetting her notepad and quill the blond rushed out after her boss to find the loose snake.

Emily was just about to thank Katja for offering to help investigate the Mordaunts when a silver patronus in the form of a snake entered the conference room and disturbed the proceedings.

One of the basilisks was loose?! "Merlin's beard!" she hissed softly when the boa constrictor finished speaking.

Emily quickly stuffed the papers into her purse and allowed the quill to fly back inside. Then she made to follow her boss out of the room, acknowledging Claudey's warning with a nod in her direction.

"SIR!" she called out as they were leaving. "Should we stun this thing if we meet it?"

How did Basilisk eggs get into the dragon eggs. He was still trying to figure this out. Had someone slipped them in and now smuggled eggs were still missing or had the smuggler been the smart one and sold a shop the wrong eggs without them even knowing. All that was interrupted by Claudette and then Emily.

"Merlin no, just catch it in something. It has just hatched so it will only make you feel sick if it looks you in the eyes. The bite will leave your arm feeling a bit tingly and you will need medical, but it is harmless for the most part. Only when it grows for a few weeks does it start getting more dangerous." Which meant they needed to find it before it lasted a few weeks.


"Alright everyone head out and lets find it." He headed out himself.
