Default Butterfly Garden

Whether it was following the fluttering little wings or simply walking into this place by accident, you've now come to the butterfly garden. It's a small little paradise somewhere along the grounds but for some reason the garden keeps changing location, sometimes appearing closer to the lake while at other times one might swear it was a stone's throw from the wooden bridge. Wherever you've managed to stumble upon it, you're here now and so are its inhabitants.

The Butterfly Garden didn't get it's name for no reason. Throughout the year different species of butterflies can be seen floating about save for winters where the entire garden appears to be asleep.

There is a wooden bench or two located in the garden for those who would like to have a seat and take in the scenery as well as a wide array of vibrant flowers that leave you oddly captivated. See to it that you do not disrupt the balance in here.

Hairs all over his body tingling, the clear leader of this herd spun around lightning quick at the sound coming from his right flank. Determined to protect his family at all cost and mistaking the human speech for the heinous hissing that had followed, Aletag charged forward with an unprecedented determination to protect his family at all costs. Even if it meant his days of turkey worship were numbered. Front four limbs raised high, Aletag waved them wildly with a deep shriek.

"BACK! BACK YOU FIEND!"

Eyes quivering in terror, the great acromantula's legs returned to the flower bed while tearing out several dozen in the process. Menacing at first, he paused long enough to sense that he was not in the presence of it...but to humans.

"It is not safe here," he warned gravely.

Her hand hovered near her wand but she hadn't made any attempt to grab it. Nor would she unless she felt completely threatened. She would never harm a creature, not even an Acromantula unless there was no other way out of harms way. Which right not she was not in... but this was every bit nerve wrecking.

With her eyes trained solely on the herd of Acromantula before her, Rylee didn't risk movement. Not even when her beloved violin case was plucked from her fingers. "I do... I've only been playing a few short years," she answered casting the professor a very quick glance and allowing her hand to drop down to her side as the violin case was returned to her. "N-no. I don't think it would be... perhaps another time." Maybe when they didn't have the chance of being eaten alive!

Rylee was perfectly okay with Sandhu handling this. If that's what she was doing. The largest one spun on them and it's limps were waving about madly as it shrieked at them.

Fiend?! They hadn't even done anything! But wait... something wasn't at all right... Th-the acromantulas looked... frightened??? More so than even the professor and herself.

'It is not safe here.' The warning lingered in the air and the hairs on her arms stood up. She knew something was off. All the creatures had been acting so strangely lately.

"We mean you no harm," she began, her voice coming out just above a shaky whisper. "What is it you're running from?" The fear of the creatures overcoming her own fear. It had to asked and while she may have spoken the words a part of her was afraid to find out the answer.

Cornish wasn't the MOST observant professor in the world. He was more interested in maintaining the equilibrium of his personal sphere (students included) than worrying about what was going on up at the castle. Especially because his personal sphere kept getting invaded by creatures that didn't particularly belong in that sphere. But even Cornish would notice giant acromantulas marauding out of the forest.

And even he wasn't so callous as to leave students directly in their path. He took the path from his hut and caravan in long strides, nearly losing one of his wellies in the process.

Then he halted. The acromantula was being destructive, but not terribly threatening to the student. Prichard. Or to Sandhu. "Hey, mate. Acro-mate. Attention over here, fella. How about we sit down for a nice cuppa and a couple of rabbits?"

"Me, fiend?" she asked, shocked, horrified, INSULTED. In fact, Simran had never been so insulted in her life. Being called a fiend by an acromantula when she'd been doing nothing out of the ordinary. Goodness, it'd been a good seven decades since she was even near an acromantula colony, she had no idea why they'd be throwing such insults her way now of all times. Goodness gracious.

"My stars -- not safe?" Not that Hogwarts ever truly had been safe, but if the Acromantulas were being scared, that didn't bode well for her poor elderly nerves.

Miss Prichard was talking to the Acromantula and Simran was a little bit concerned, but if the spider wasn't being aggressive and was being all cordial, there seemed no reason to fear.

Oh, Cornish was here! How delightful! He was always such a presence, and always delightfully entertaining. And very good looking too. Oh ho ho, indeed, very much a sight for sore eyes. And being the Magical Creatures man, would know exactly what to do. Right place at the right time indeed.

"A tea party?!" asked Simran, gleeful. "I have just the tea! My granddaughter sent me a new blend and it's absolutely delightful."

She was very sure that even the large man-eating spider would be happy to have a nice cup of masala chai. Her masala chai was very famous, you see, and very very tasty. Just spicy enough to ward off the winter chill that had been creeping around weirdly strong for so early in the season.
