Primpernelle's Counter

[Mad Eye Touz]

The counter is located in the middle of the store, dividing the beauty care potions, located on the right side, from the beauty enhancement ones, located on the left side. It is decorated with small flower arrangements, a glass bowl filled with bonbons, business cards with the store’s contact information, a few magazines, including Witch Weekly and Rumours!, small brochures and pamphlets with coupons and special deals, and small flasks of fragrance samples. There are also two old fashioned cashiers, behind which you will always find the shopkeeper and/or her assistant. This is where you must make all your purchases or be publicly humiliated with a permanent jinx to the face for the rest of your life, if you decide to make the unfortunate decision to steal something. Currency conversion forms are also provided for those unfamiliar with magical currency. If you have any questions about a product, can’t find a certain potion, or are in dire need of immediate magical help for your beauty problems the shopkeeper or the assistant will be more than happy to help you. Of course, if you just want to strike up a conversation and share some juicy gossip that is okay too.

Primpernelles beauty shop was probably one of those places that most wizards avoided and still Yoongi was found opening the door of the shop and grabbing a small piece of paper from his jeans pocket. He had already written down the things he needed before deciding to come to this shop.

After walking around and grabbing his items here and there, Yoongi turned towards the counter to pay. He placed everything which were Temporary Extreme Hair Dyes Neon Red, Skin Cleanser, Black Head Removal and Body mist Vanilla on the surface and smiled. “These please also, is there only a lip balm making kit or do you have a few without having to make them?” He needed lip balm more than anything. Chapped lips you see. Horrible.

Kat appeared at the counter when she saw a student heading that way and gave him a smile. "Hello." she said brightly to him. He seemed to know exactly what he needed and wanted to purchase. Bright red hair, hmm interesting. Well everyone had their own preference. "Of course" she said brightly and turned to get a few of them that they had on hand for those who didn't wish to make their own. "Which ones interested you? Strawberry, Coco, Almond, Raspberry or Vanilla?" she asked as she brought over a few of each, setting them on the counter for him to take a look at.

She glanced over the items he'd set on the counter, mentally adding up the total. "If you get one more bottle of the vanilla body mist, you'll get 2 for a galleon, rather than 14 sickles for one." she commented. Just as with the hair dyes he had. So far it looked like it'd be 2 galleons and 19 knuts, unless he wanted another body spray and also depended on how many lip balms he wanted, which were 4 sickles apiece or 3 for 10 sickles.

He too said a quick hello after the woman had appeared at the counter and he watched her grabbing a few lip balms from a shelf somewhere. He waited until she returned and bit his lip in thought as she placed the items on the counter. Something he shouldn’t do because he was trying to cure them. “I’ll pick the Almond one” he replied. Just that one. It wasn’t as if he had money growing on his back and he didn’t think his mother would be pleased that he bought a new one again as he still had three at home.

As for the body mist, Yoongi thought again, this time not biting his lips and then nodded. “I think one extra bottle wouldn’t hurt” he said. “I can use that one to spray everyone else if they ….smell” he made a face. He hoped the students at Hogwarts have some sense to use mists because he would NOT want to sit in a dull classroom filled with ..especially guys… smelling like teenagers normally did. “Throw in a Sports Blast body mist , please” he eventually said, reaching for his wallet.

FINALLY! someone who understood him! The students at Charms School disliked his habit of spraying body sprays on people when he did not like their smell. He watched the woman putting every item in to a bag and after hearing the price he opened up his dragonhide leather wallet and started picking out the coins.

1 galleon...2 galleons..wait.... A slight frown appeared on his face as he counted the prices. Was in correct though? Was he missing money or did he have to pay more than the actual price. "Sorry but...is the price correct?" he needed to know because he obviously did not want to pay more than he had to and he would feel bad if he paid less.

The skin cleanser is 5 sickles, so 8 sickles 19 knuts. 2 vanilla body mist for 1 galleon and the two extreme hair dyes for 1 galleon. And finally the lip balm for 4 sickles. Yep a total of 2 galleons 12 sickles and 19 knuts." She hadn't missed anything, had she?

Zhenya made her way up to the counter, excitedly, and put her items on top, the Humidity Immunity Potion and the Heat Protection Potion. She pulled out her coin purse, realising she hadn't looked at the prices. Oh well, she thought, it wasn't every day she splurged on her hair.

"Hello," she greeted the shopkeeper with a smile on her face.

Following after Zhenya, Lux headed to the counter with her bottle of Not-So-Sleeping Beauty.

This should be enough to deal with her raccoon eyes, though goodness knows she was probably exaggerating how bad her face looked right now. At any rate, soon she would be looking completely like her old self and that made her happy.

She smiled at the shopkeeper. "Hi."

Watching as two girls walked her way with their purchases she smiled at them "Hello, all set there?" she asked, reaching for the items and starting to ring them up. "Did you find everything okay? Anything else you need?"

...1 galleon, 2 Sickles, 1 Knut for the Humidity Immunity...1 Galleon 1 Knut for heat protection... Hmmm! Well...she looked a little young to be but... "Are you a dragonologist, or a student going into dragonology?" she asked kindly.

And then the lady was asking about dragonology. Zhenya frowned slightly and shook her head. "Nope. Just bad hair," she said. But did she mean that the products she wanted to buy were a little overkill for what she had intended to use them for?

As the shopkeeper ran up Zhenya's total, Lux took her wallet out so that she could pay when it was her turn. She had to smile at the thought of her friend studying dragontology. That must be an exciting line of work, and the kind of thing that Kace wanted to do with his life.

"Oh, I want a cut too if it's possible," she added as it was brought up. Surely it wouldn't be a problem to deal with split ends? Lux thought her hair was starting to look sad.

Kitty approached the counter with a bag full of potions. "There are twenty Snow White Skin potions and five Rash Removals and Two Pimple Poofers in there," she told the store clerk earnestly. "It's not that I have rashes or pimples or anything like that, but I got them for Hogwarts just in case. I mean, you never know." She had been too lazy to see what the prices were, so she waited for the clerk to determine that for her.

"Ooh thank you," replied Kitty happily as she took the coupons after paying the 44 galleons and 1 sickle. "I'll come back during the holidays to try one then." She couldn't use them right now anyway because she was expected back home and hadn't planned her new haircut yet.

It was getting late and Kitty knew her mother would be annoyed if she was late to dinner again. Taking her bag off the counter, Kitty smiled at the nice lady and said "Well goodbye then. I love your hair, by the way." Then she turned to leave.

Daisy made her way to the counter and placed her basket of items down. "Hello there. Do these come as a beauty package?" she asked as she gestured towards the basket which contained a Skin Cleanser, a Not-So-Sleeping Draught, Sunburn Unburn, Blackhead Removal and a Bruise Begone.

When she finally let herself breathe again, it was a sigh of happiest contentment. Lexi slipped behind the counter and surveyed the shop...her shop. She had to suppress a sequel of delight. Even though the shop was empty right now. It was unprofessional, and Lexi was a professional. Or at least, trying to be.

She gave it a week.

Two shimmering white sugar gliders were frolicking and leaping about the shop, filling the place with warmth, and positivity and joy. Patronuses weren't just useful against dementors, you know? They were great at uplifting spirits and spreading positivity.

Her shop though. Hers. She didn't even mind it being slow today. There was plenty of work to be done in the meanwhile. On her exorbitant to do list...sooooo long...was a complete overhaul of the products offered. She'd find out which didn't sell and which could be improved upon, and what could be offered but wasn't in the inventory yet.

And that was just the start of it. Lexi O'Brien had big plans for her little shop. Possibly a complete rennovation at some point, but for now. Inventory. She reached into her purse, and pulled out the stack of suggestions cards she'd had made and set them up beside both registers. They were a way for customers to tell her what products or magical effects they'd likd to see offered.

It was Lucy's least favorite time of the year. Christmas had passed and all that was left was the long, cold, stretch until spring. After her husband's death, she had chosen to ignore Valentine's day. Needing a little boost to her spirits, she decided to pay a visit to one of the sweetest shopkeepers she knew.

Stepping out of the cold and into the shop, she quickly made her way over to the counter. "Lexi!" She greeted with a bright smile on her face. "How are you. It's been far too long."
