Shrieking Shack

The Shrieking Shack is positioned up a slope from the Three Broomsticks and is accessible to all who take the muddy and puddled pathway up and down the hillside to get there. Though much of its history has been revealed to wizardkind, the place is still eerie as ever and continues to hold the reputation as the "most haunted house in Britain." If you listen or look carefully, maybe you will hear a noise sound or see a flicker of light come from inside.

Still the windows and doors of the house are boarded shut with wood. No one may enter or exit the premises through those openings without breaking and entering. It would be advised to simply stand on the other side of the fence that surrounds the property and enjoy the home and its dank overgrown garden from a safe distance. You never know what could be lurking about inside that dusty run-down place after all these years...

Everything about the Shack screamed forbidden, which was exactly why Evan Eastwood was slinking around the fenced building with bright eyed curiosity and a very red face. English Winter was brutal even with a charmed beanie, a charmed scarf and a charmed jacket. Overkill? No, not really. Not when you considered how painful hypothermia could be. Gripping the fence, Evan leaned over it as much as she dared, her dark eyes widening as she strained to spot something- anything- which would make her lonesome quiet trip worth writing home about. She knew one aunt in particular who'd be over the moon to hear about the Shack and whatever apparition Evan might be able to spot.

She glanced from one boarded up window to the next, only to see absolutely nothing- was it too early? darkness had fallen, sure, but it was nowhere near truly late. Maybe I oughta come back.. Evan bit her lip, letting herself fall back gently onto the balls of her feet. A nice warm butterbeer would have been pretty good... a butter sammie to wash it down...

Indecision kept the Ravenclaw rooted to the spot, all the while the wind whispered and howled at her.

Thank Merlin for Hogsmeade weekend because he really needed a break from everything. Ever since the feud with Missa Renaldi, things hadn't been easy for him and it interfered with his concentration for OWLs and stuffs. It kind of affected the things between him and Nettie too since they started going out and the girl shared the same dorm as his best friend... or ex-best friend, he wasn't sure what they were now.

Wrapping himself in a coat and heating charm all over him, the Ravenclaw walked by himself to the village. He decided to not visit some places where most people go like Three Broomsticks or Honeydukes, even though a cup of warm butterbeer seemed like a good idea for a weather like this. Keenan just kept continue walking and somehow it lead him to... this shack. Huh, okay. Not sure if there was something interesting that he could see but... At least this place was quiet and (sort of) peaceful and he needed this kind of atmosphere. Apparently he wasn't the only person who observed this haunting shack because there was some kind of girl observing it from a closer spot.

He didn't say anything, just cleared his throat loud enough to catch her attention.

He just gave her a small smile when she referred him with that nickname. Burtoni was a nickname she gave, to be honest it sounded like he belonged like this Italian mafia family except Keenan doesn't have Italian blood on him. He had never mind when someone called him with a specific (read: silly) nickname like what Evan did and also Missa... Crap, let's just not think about that girl for a moment. "Just wandering around." He said while adjusting his glasses. The Ravenclaw didn't have a plan to visit this historical site because the only thing he wanted to do was avoiding the crowd of Hogsmeade and get some quietness.

"What are you doing here?" He asked the same question to his housemate.

She nodded, tucking her ungloved hands into the pockets of her parka. "Yeah, same. I didn't really have a set plan coming out." She hadn't needed supplies, or sweets, or anything the village could have offered. "But, you know- it beats being stuck in the castle." Even if it was freezing, and there was a killer mist on the loose.

"Here here, or here, here?" the Ravenclaw asked, her points very clear and obvious to her.

The cold didn't really bother him since he was born and raised in Scotland so this kind of weather was just like his everyday life. In fact he had never really experienced the climate outside the Great Britain so... yeah. "I agree." The lanky boy nodded when his housemate mentioned about being here vs getting stuck in the castle. He truly needed a break, even just for a while. That was his personal reason why he decided to step out from the castle.

"Here, as in the Shrieking Shack." Keenan made it clear about his question.
