Default Ministry Cocktail Hour

After months and months of waiting, the Ministry has once again officially opened its doors to its employees. Walking through the security checkpoint, you may have already noticed a few small changes here and there. This is a direct result of the renovations that took place after the massive efforts of specialized forces to stabilize the Ministry following the disaster that was Morgan P. Nickels. Eager as many of you are to get back to get to your levels and throw yourselves back into the full swing of things, wait awhile. Your Department Heads and newly appointed Minister for Magic have organized a cocktail hour in the food court for everyone to catch up. Additionally, the event will provide necessary updates now that the situation has been handled. Think of it as one big, cozy ministry wide meeting--but without the long tables, office chairs and questionable coffee. Soothing music is played by charmed instruments, harps and other "soft" instruments to be exact. The lunch tables have been pushed against the back walls, housing dainty little sandwiches (some vegan safe), fruits, the most tempting pastries and your choice of drink--wine, fruit juice or water. Welcome back.

"That's cool. Your Dad's job was cool." Owen punctuated with a fervent nod. He had a particular admiration for people who worked with memory restoration and such. It was a very delicate task.

As for lunch, "Do you, er, have a certain favorite dish? I can cook some of it for you." This. This was the Hufflepuff way of extending friendly relationships, and Owen was a pro at it. "I'm a pretty fine cook, if you didn't know." Cue more grinning. Just so she wouldn't think he had any other ulterior motive. He had none...yet. But if she wanted to stick with foodcourt food for then he wouldn't get hurt. Okay, maybe slightly.
Admiration for a parent that wasn’t her or her brother. That was interesting. Though there was the occasional run in with a student of his that gave her the feel of someone else liking her father and his skills. “Yeah…it is…Was.” Back before she had been born into the family and the consensus between Gavin and Tasha McNally was the Ministry was too hectic a schedule to deal with when they had a baby on the way.

Favorite food? She suspected he was thinking lunch foods since that was the theme currently. “Fish and chips…” she offered, thinking on one of her options that seemed to fit. “But you needn’t have to go through the trouble.” It was sweet of him to offer though. “Pretty sure I didn’t know…” seeing as they really didn’t know much about each other. “…but it’s a cool and helpful skill to have.” For real.
