Ludicrous Patents Office and Laboratory

Once on level seven, the smell of the coffee cart was too powerful so he had stopped a moment and grabbed a cup but soon found himself in the patents office looking around. "Hello? Anyone around?" Figuring they were at their desks, hopefully, he would stay towards the door to make his arrival known. He didn't think it was very courteous to just walk in on someone's work space unannounced.

With a few waves of his wand, Adam had proven that there was nothing completely sinister about the trainers, but that didn't necessarily mean they were completely safe. He jotted down a few notes, and was about to pick up his wand again when he heard a voice.

"Yes?" Adams gaze turned from the shoes to the door, slipping off the lab stool and heading over to it. "Hi. How can I help you?"

As he stood there Giles thought about how he hadn't been in the ministry for quite some time. A veteran player he just owled most his paper work and he had settled down from his younger years when paying a fine wasn't that big of a deal. He had to be a role model for his girls, so he would work very hard to be that role model.

Then he heard a voice and soon a man. "Hello, Giles Low, I hope I'm not bothering you. I have an issue with my brooms and I was hoping maybe you could help." He had at least been sent here from the pitch, so the Cannons beater hoped they could help. "I was at an event about a week ago and since then I haven't been able to fly correctly. It's like both my brooms have been possibly curses or something to just either fly in a circle or buck me off." He wouldn't say cursed, but that was the term his coach had used. I was hoping maybe your department could check them and see what's going on."[/b] Good thing it was the off season still, he did have time to work things out.

"Giles, of course," Adam offered a hand to the beater, whom he recognised. Although when he was younger, he hadn't enjoyed Quidditch, it was more a bitterness that he was no good at it. With Lorelai and the kids in his life, and working in this department, Adam found himself following the sport a lot more in his adult life. "Not a bother at all."

And, of course, he wasn't lying: if the Quidditch player had a problem that he thought they could fix, then the Ludicrous Patents office was the place they should be. "What event was it?" Adam asked, leading Giles over to one of the empty lab benches and indicating that he should place his brooms on the surface. He was hesitant to think they were cursed, purely because he didn't want that the be the case, but of course it couldn't be ruled out.

Not a bother, this was good. Giles extended his hand and shook the man's. He was hoping the brooms weren't a total loss, but he had to get them fixed before the season or get a new one to use. He couldn't be risking his life (more than he did) when his family needed him to be home.
"You just never know with crazy fans what they'll do." Following the man to the empty table he pulled open his bag and laid the two brooms
down.

"Fan meet and greet over at the stadium. It was ticket holder day,
so they get a special tour of the facility which includes the locker room,
pitch, pretty much where all our stuff is located." He hated to think it was a season ticket holder, but maybe it was someone that slipped in some how. They've had crazy fans before, he even had a stalker once so he had to be careful.

"Mmm." Adam let out a small noise of appreciation as Giles spoke, nodding to let the other man know that he completely understood why he was worried. He cast a few non-verbal spells, a few muttered ones under his breath, before levitating the brooms and pulling a small magnifying lense from on of the draws.

"Have you ever had any trouble with 'fans'... Or anyone else, before?" He spoke as he walked around the desk, inspecting the brooms manually from each angle.

Giles watched and let the man work. If there was one thing he understood it was needing to focus on a job at hand and this was a very important job to the beater. Without these brooms, he would have to buy new ones and that process was a long one for such a picky broom person.

He laughed when Adam said about fans. Giles had been in the profession long enough to have had run in with fans. "Yeah, you could say I have had my moments with some." There had been that stalker not too long ago. So yeah he had reasons to be suspicious when things happened.

He wanted to have more details, well Giles thought about it. "Well there was a stalker at one point that was hanging around our locker rooms. Tried to sneak in a few times and put a curse on a few of the players. I've had a few love owls that have come, my wife has had a few as well." Maybe it was someone that was actually in love with Esme and they were trying to get rid of him or possibly he had been in this business way too long and it was all starting to get to him.

He stayed back and watched Adam do his thing. He wondered if there was really anything he could do for them. "There has been some woman hanging around and I saw her at the event." Maybe it could have been her, but he really had no clue.

Adams eyebrows shot up at the first thing out of Giles' mouth. A stalker was definitely something to make the man worry, and to make Adam himself worry as he continued inspecting the broomsticks. He let out a little laugh at the idea of love letters, before turning to the important matter. "So, this stalker..." he started hesitantly. "I mean, if you don't mind me enquiring, how was the situation resolved?" Because if it hadn't been, then he was keeping a hold of these brooms for a few days.

"Anything about the woman worry you?" They had to explore every avenue, after all.
