Default Owl Post Office

Since 1536 the Owl Post Office has been serving the greater London area, by helping you deliver what you need to be delivered. Whether it’s a letter or a package, our owls can do the job. We have five owls who can provide a variety of delivery services. As you head through the foyer inside the Owl Post Office you will notice the newly renovated shop. All new furniture has replaced the old and very dated.

Off to the left and the right of the entrance is a bright and long row writing desks. Chairs are lined up in various spaces to seat down and relax. In the back corners on either the left or right are post office boxes, available for purchase. Ask the staff on duty for more information. Straight ahead from the foyer is rather large open space greets those entering the Owl Post Office the only real landmark is a long, rectangular stone Owl Post service desk. Written across the front panel in large, curvy print are the words "Owl Post Office". Against the wall there are three boxes; your letters, when placed in there by an employee, will vanish (to the mailroom of course).

If you approach the desk and find it empty, there is a small silver bell just off to the left. Just one ring please the enchanted bell will make no discernible sound when pressed. Next to the Owl Post service desk, several large racks have been set up. Neatly stacked inside each slot are various postcards, each depicting a different area of Diagon Alley and other notable landmarks of the greater wizarding United Kingdom. Quidditch and Gobstone team postcards can be found here as well. There are many to choose from!

Text Cut: Sending an Owl Post
To use the Owl Post system across the Wizarding Word, please complete the following OOC steps:
  1. Fill out the Owl Post questionnaire the necessary information (note that not completely filling out the survey may result in your letter/package taking longer to deliver).
    • Remember to include the username of the person the letter is intended for in the "To" section.
    • If you are sending a package and wish to use images as visuals, remember to upload to your own image hosting account. Hotlinking images will result in your owl post not being delivered.
    • If you have a certain date OOC that you would like your letter to be delivered by, specify that in the last question of the survey.
  2. RPing purchasing the Owl Post's delivery service is optional but encouraged. I want to play with you! In the event that you would rather your owl sent out sans RPing (an example being the delivery an unstalkable surprise for the recipient), please specify in the last question
This shop is STAFFED by Zachaël Lufkin (sweetpinkpixie).

Quinn had forgotten that he actually wanted to look at the postcards in the first place until the shopkeep mentioned them again. "Oh, of course!" Quinn said his goodbyes to Waful, and then made his way over to the postcards. He didn't want to overstay his welcome, and he figured it was about time to go back to his mom, so he picked out a few offhand that he thought were pretty. Quinn brought them over to the shopkeep, counting them out as he set them down. "One, two, three postcards. So that's..." He rummaged around in his pockets. "...nine sickles. Here you are." Quinn held out the money for the shopkeep.

Quinn picked up his postcards after paying for them. "Well, I should probably get back to my mom. It was nice meeting you both, hope to see you again!" Quinn turned and headed for the door, looking at his postcards. Maybe he should write some to Atlas..?

~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.

Claudine chuckled softly. From her observations, Waful seemed to be on the same level of pride as the majority of hippogriffs she had encountered. Not that she had met much… at this point in life, she had only met the ones at Hogwarts. Did Waful’s head turning perturb her though? No, it did not. After all, how many times had she not seen Hogwarts’ owls do that? Claudine was content to continue watching Waful be eager to head out. Honestly, she had not seen an owl so excited to complete a delivery. “Hope to see you next time I'm here, Waful. Be safe.”

As for sticking around? The girl bobbed her head briefly at the shopkeeper. “I need to have a small package mailed,’’ she told him. “But first, I definitely would like to decide which postcards to get.” Trying to be more polite now, Claudine quietly sifted through the card without disturbing the little guy as much as she could. He seemed to finish before her in terms of making a choice of cards. Claudine waved goodbye to him then got back to examining the stash of cards in her hand.

Soon she’d make her choice, mail her package then head out.

*sappysapper* MAJNOO, YO!

Sophia was very very very very worried.

She couldn't work, and most days she couldn't even get herself to eat. There were rumours and the lack of communication with Zev was slowly driving her insane. Deciding to not go into work at all today, which was very unlike her, she found herself heading to the one place that made sense at the moment; the owl post office.

Not caring much about pleasantries, she found herself entering the place and calling out her friend, "Zachaël? Are you around? I need to talk"

Yes. He was in. In and once again fretting over the prosperity of his business. Could the wizarding world please just take a break from disasters that cut off communication with Hogwarts? That was where he made the majority of his income and this year was yet another year where he would dip well into the red. Even worse than the last since his owls' services were no longer required at the Ministry now that their internal communications were functioning again. The bleak gray that had overtaken the atmosphere as of late also had few and few people holding parties or weddings, and if there WERE any to be had they were not seeking him out for custom stationary nor delivery services. Essentially it was bad news layered on top of more bad news from the business man's stand point.

Interpersonal concerns were yet another matter entirely.

He was in the back, tending to the wing of one of the owls who had had a nasty run in with something while on its way to make a delivery - he suspected a hawk. He had just finished cleaning the wound and was starting to bandage things up when he heard his name called and leaned back in his chair so his head peeked out through the doorway leading from the back to the front desk. He was about to say something snarky about how the door was open and therefore of course he was here...until he saw who it was that had walked in and he thought better of it.

"Always."

There was a smile. Though there was also a hint of snark. Just a hint.

"I hope that talk involves a purchase. I'm floundering." Surely she had a fashion show of some variety that required some expedited shipping.
