in the sixth book it never actually stated that hermione and ron were an item it only mentioned that hermione was crying on ron's shoulder at the funeral...she couldn't cry on harry's as he was still dating ginny.

i also always thought that whoever harry ended up with in the sixth book wouldn't be who he ended up with in the end so i was kinda glad when he ended up with ginny lol.

the way i see it is that harry and hermione have been through way too much to not have some deep emotional connection, i think it just takes one last struggle for their lives to realise how much they've always loved each other and how much they need each other. we've seen throughout that books that harry can tell things to hermione that he can't share with anyone else, and they can read each others moods and feelings in a way that allows them to communicate without words, they're often on the same wavelength, leaving everyone - ron and ginny included - one step behind

Harmony, I respect your opinion, but I do not share it. In the early books, I also assumed that the Hero gets the girl, because that is standard and usual. All the fights and hints are leading to the Sidekick kicking the Girl and Harry being happy that his best friends are happy.

Yeah..thanks for sharing your opinion. I respect it too as i also used to think that the hero gets the girl. Even though it most probably will not happen in the books, that will not stop me from being an H/Hr shipper! I've been an H/Hr shipper since i read the first book. Some people think this ship is stupid because it won't happen... and then i get to know that they ship Crookshanks and Ms. Norris!!! Anyway..for me this ship is very important because in my opinion (i'm also speaking for other shippers that i know) the relationship Harry and Hermione have is one that few of us may be lucky enough to have with someone! But you're right...even though Ron and Hermione will get together Harry will be happy for them. JKR would be giving a very good example.

Anyway, no matter how anyone else views it, I still say the hero gets the girl. All other films and books have done it, so why should HP be the one to break the rules? (not that it wouldn't be cool )

I think they have been through too much together to think about romance.

I think that Harry and Hermione belong together. i mean, Hermione doesn't like Ron seriously and they don't have a lot in common even if the scene in POA was a bit convincing. Harry and Hermione also are really close friends and don't fight a lot. They probably have a better chance since they know a lot about each other, but it's starting to show in the movies. Hermione and Ron do too much fighting.

I support Harmony. I know that ship is unk. But I don't care. I mean...if Harry didn't want to save Hermione then Ronadn Hermione would never have met. Before they even knew each other, Ron was already making fun of her. He made her cry adn all that....

Good perspective. I've supported Harry ♥ Hermione since book one. It doesn't matter if the ship is sunk in (evil) canon. What matters is that there are a lot of shippers out there that still keep it afloat no matter how, ahem . . . persuasive, some other shippers can be.

Harry and Hermione till the end! They are meant to be together. They are the future of the books. They love each other and that will help Harry in the long run. I am a H/Hr shipper till the end!

Has anyone ever thought of maybe no one hooking up? its always possible that in the end of the seventh book, they will all find new loves, and just stay friends. Now don't get my wrong, I'm a H/G kind of girl, and I'd definitely be okay with H/Hr, but I'd feel terrible for Ron. He deserves Hermione. They just seem to fit together. And xAmyx, you brought up Hermione hugging Harry and not Ron, but couldn't she have just thought it to be awkward hugging him? Anyway, I'm okay with Harry being with Hermione or Ginny, but thats it, no one else haha.

Initially it bothered me that Hermione liked Ron vs. Harry. I felt like he deserved some happiness and, as the protagonist, you kind of expected it to happen for him. But once Ginny came into the picture, and I read how happy she made Harry, I was completely for Hermione and Ron! If H/G and Hr/R are the couples in the end, everyone is happy with no hurt feelings... plus, if Ginny and Harry marry (eventually), Ron and Harry will be brother-in-laws! What could be better than that! They'll be family just like Harry has always wanted!

Hollywood was the one that changed the stories to happy endings, and started putting the boy and girl together ... but if you've read the books any books all books, namely books written before the Hollywood age, you'll see the boy doesn't always get the girl ... etc. So ... if you ship off the books then you'll see that the movies are stupid because they're not following the books.

That said, I still think in the movie Ron and Hermione will end up together, oh and Emma can't act, please send flames about Emma's lack of acting ability to Dainsie she told me to say that ...
