| Oh my gosh Linda! I LOVE your Canary Cream entry for "hex"!! That is so awesome! I would totally fall for that, too. Looks sooo yummy!
I can't wait to see what others are making. I'm still not decided on mine, unfortunately... but I will make something soon! |

All right. Time for a new challenge... and Erin's passed me the mantle of power. So I'll be posting a new challenge today. | Quote:

The hex one has me stumped though. Linda's canary cream is genius though, and very cute - too bad knitting is out of my league! |

| Wow! hermygirl, I love how you incorporated the challenge prompt into your charms/key rings! VERY clever and appropriate. They look great! (Yes, I wish I'd thought of it.)
I'm slacking again on the challenge front. I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing. Upside is I have something else to post to my craft thread. |

Thanks for all the kind words, guys! That was quite a difficult challenge subject, and that's what really makes it more fun! |

Alina Newtington Magical Games & Sports | Thanks! I've made quite a few more now, in different colours...I think I'm a bit addicted to them. But they're so pretty and simple to make...and great for clearing out all my odd beads!
Linda, I totally agree...that one was quite a hard one, but I love the way it made me think about how to incorporate what I could make and what materials I had into something new and different. And I must say, I'm loving your new challenge. I know what I want to make, but I'm going away for two weeks, so I've got to delay starting it til after I get back - I'm not sure Mum would appreciate me packing all my craft stuff to take to the airport with me! Though hopefully I'll find some nice materials whilst I'm abroad... |

Enrico Antonio Serio International Cooperation | Matt made an egg! Well, she entered the Death Eater challenge thingy with a picture of an awesome black-and-white egg....
It looks nifty. And it's edible too. |

Samantha Rose Magical Education | Ern, you've made another imaginative and unique piece of jewelry for the COMC challenge. It takes true inspiration to be able to come up with something like this and it reminded me of that movie "The Water Horse". Remember, Hagrid wanted to keep the Loch Ness Monster, world's largest kelpie, in the lake at Hogwarts once, maybe he would have been company for the giant squid - lol! Anyway, I can easily imagine the creature wearing a bridle like this.
Good job! |

| YES! Ditto Linda! I love faceted beads right now, so this one reaaaaallly appealed to me. Just GORGEOUS.
I've got to take pics of my CoMC submission tomorrow. I have finished only one of the two projects this theme inspired, but I hope to finish up with the 2nd one soon, now that I'm home from my trip! WOOHOO! |

Samantha Rose Magical Education | Jan - I see you've risen to the challenge once again with your amazing ashwinder and her eggs project. How imaginative, I really like how you and Ern both came up with something totally creative and different rather than just following the normal standard. You definitely rock! (I like the color you used for the eggs, too!) |

Guys, you know I chose and did the same ashwinder eggs like Ern accidentally. But Ern's was far far better than mine. *clings* |

Ern did that cool Kelpie bridle. But you know.. I LOVE your Ashwinder!!! I was well finished mine when I remembered that ashwinders are more like SNAKES than lizards. *headsmack* I must have been thinking fire salamanders when I gave my pendant legs. Darnit. So.. mine's not really much like a proper Ashwinder.
Off topic now, my daughter and her friend painted rocks yesterday in the back yard and they had a great time. I varnished them with mod podge last night, so the poster paint won't just wash off in the rain when they go back outside. They look just awesome, and I might try to incorporate painted rock art in one of my challenge entries here soon. Just to warn you. hahaha! |

Minister Brennan Cooper Minister's Office | Jan - Pretty! I would wear that too. You're right, it reminds me of the salamander, but the stones are just so dramatic. Maybe red jade or dyed fossil? We have some fossil beads that are really vibrant red like that too.
Matt - I think your ashwinder is darling. What kind of cereal is that? |

| I have some faceted red jade, and they're nowhere near as brilliant red as this. I think you're right about the dye.. not sure what it is but it sure is bright! hehe |

Oops! You're right Jan!! But you know I see Ern in you and Jan in Ern. *seems good excuse* Haha! And we can take it as a hybrid Ashwinder, with legs. so..yeah!! Quote:

Enrico Antonio Serio International Cooperation | Awww, all the CoMC crafts are cute!
The Kelpie bridle is really imaginative, I would have never thought of something like that. And Jans' and Matt's ashwinders are too cute! ha! I could actually see the tongue in that second picture, Matti.
I was thinking of doing something with some Sculpey...hmm...maybe a mini-abraxan? |

Samantha Rose Magical Education | Mathi - I love your ashwinder, too! It looks so real and lifelike, I am very impressed by your efforts, as well, and that there were three wonderful entries for this partiicular challenge. That's really rising to the occasion.
Roro - I think the abraxan would look great, you should do it! Remember, you can still submit stuff to a challenge even after it's over, I don't think there's ever a time limit on that. |

Samantha Rose Magical Education | Ern - Yep, I agree! Those earrings are absolutely - bedazzling! I'm still thinking about your challenge for this round, I suspect I will probably be a bit late on that one. (Still have no clue, except for something I would like to make but it will take quite a while if I do.) Matt - Only 35 minutes to make the ashwinder? Whoa, that's amazing. It would have taken me a lot longer than that! Everyone - I'm going to the Scrapbook Expo all day this Friday and Saturday. I'm excited about that because even though scrapbooking's not reallly a craft that I can use for any of the challenges here, still, there just might be some good ideas there that I can carry over to this forum. You never know! (I'm taking six classes on all different kinds of stuff, plus attending two six hour crops. I will be having a busy, busy couple of days, but I love it!)
Does anyone else here enjoy scrapbooking?

Donovan Calrissian Department of Mysteries | Hey all, I'm kinda new here and haven't posted in this forum yet . . . so excited to see someone else into scrapbooking! I've been scrapping for years and used to do some work for a scrapbook company and a few websites. That expo sounds really cool. I haven't been to any of those yet. Please tell us about your classes when you get back!
I have a pretty cool idea for the new divination challenge that incorporates papercrafting. Now to find the time to do it . . .
BTW - I am in awe of everyone's talent here. I do lots of crafts too - not just scrapping - I just haven't found the time to complete any challenges yet. Although I am working on some scarves in house colors for me and my kids, but it will be a while till they're done. I'm a slow knitter. |
