I really love this idea, but how would it work? It's definitely something that would be fun, if we could figure out a way to do it.
What do you guys think? Any ideas? |

| Viva Buymoria! Maybe she means we all pick a pattern and start it at the same time, posting pics as we go and such? That would be cool.
I think I might make that snitch. |

Getti Forde Daily Prophet | Nabs!Ama | | Honours Graduate There's this GORGEOUS Golden Snitch that this person made, and I'm dying to learn how to do that. But since so far, all I've learnt is how to knit a scarf (nooooob), it all looks like gibberish to me. |

Samantha Rose Magical Education | SS Featured Writer Lovely Lady Nabs - Wow! That pattern is really nice, a knitted one at that, too bad the directions are incomplete. I don't think it would be hard to make, it might be a good beginner project even, and hopefully the directions will be filled in soon!
Jan - I do indeed have a pattern in mind for the next challenge, however, I will keep it a secret until the 5th of April! It will be quick and simple, and it should be interesting to see what everyone does! (Isn't it always?) |

| Viva Buymoria! That is so cool! I'm even more of a beginner at knitting than I am at crochetting.. I wouldn't know where to begin to make a snitch like that! WOW!!! Thanks for sharing, Nabs! |

No roses from the tree that brushes his shoulder on the way back here! I want knitting needles! lol
Never mind... found this great store in Waterloo which I'm just aching to visit myself!

| Viva Buymoria! I've started something too and should have it done to post tomorrow I think.
I must say though, I REALLY love Erin's ribbon bookmark; everyone check it out! This is such a GREAT design and so easy to make; you could make designer bookmarks for all your favourite books in colours that match the book cover, if you're that nerdy *secretly wants to do this*. How awesome!
Can't wait to see what theme you come up with for the April 19th challenge, Erin! |

Samantha Rose Magical Education | SS Featured Writer Lovely Lady Erin - I think the bookmark is beautiful, too! That would be awesome, if you designed them in different colors to match all your books, oooh, I would like to see that! That would make a nice gift for someone who likes to read, or for yourself, for that matter (thinks). I can't wait to see your challenge for next time. This is so much fun!
I am always done with my bookmark, I will post it up soon. |

Minister Brennan Cooper Minister's Office | Made of Awesome YAR! It was really easy too, considering I had a mad supply of beads on hand (but went to buy some anyway) and the ribbon was on sale at the craft store. Thanks for the praise - the planning definitely took longer to do than the actual craft, but it's actually been in my head for a while.
The other bookmarks posted are gorgeous... Nabs, those stitches are perfect. Did you design the pattern yourself? Jan, I want to grow up to bead like you .
I am working on several bracelets right now that are all themed after the HP women, which is a little bizarre but as is evidenced from my Quidditch bracelet, I love to find slightly off-beat inspiration and run with it. |

Getti Forde Daily Prophet | Nabs!Ama | | Honours Graduate Heh heh how could anyone resist buying more beads? You can never have enough!
It wasn't much of a pattern, lol, I just took my fabric pen out and started drawing on the calico. Chose which stitches to use for each section and started I have to say that embroidery is much easier when following an already established pattern.
Jan's bookmark made my jaw drop... it looks like something I'd buy! |

What I make isn't hard or even very original, I'm afraid. I wish I could come up with more than I do but it does make me happy to just fiddle and make stuff. Quote: |

Minister Brennan Cooper Minister's Office | Made of Awesome YAR! Jan, where did you get that lion charm that you used for your bookmark? I'm looking for charms for House related bracelets... I think the badger will be the hardest to find . Eagles, lions, and snakes are a bit more common. |

I think I paid about $1.97 each for them, with my designer's discount. They have no website to shop from, sadly. I have seen pretty decent badger and eagle charms online but it's expensive to get them retail, shipped, and I've only found sterling silver ones, not cheaper metals. Check these sites' charms: Bird charms, bluemud.com (price ranges according to volume bought; you can get eagles for as low as $5.30 each) Badger (& other animals) charm at artsconnect.com (charms = $$$$ here. the badgers are $11 each!! )
I haven't ordered from either of these places because I just don't want to pay that much for such a specific charm right now. If I had a special order from someone willing to pay for sterling, I'd buy them though.
I have yet to find a decent snake, to be honest. None of the ones I've seen are what I'd like to see. |
