I know Beijing is over now, but we're up to 11 challenges in here now, and it is time to start counting up our credits so we can reward some crafters for participating! I'm pretty sure the general response to this kind of idea was positive, so here we go...
For every Craft Challenge you post, you'll earn a point. The crafter(s) with the most points at the end of the year will win some prizes donated by the group. Prizes could be anything: finished handmade items, yarn/needles/hooks, beads/findings/tools, gift certificates to craft supply sites and even SnitchSeeker Cafe Press gear. If you wish to donate, please PM me with the details.
The 1st ever SS Craft Olympic Challenge will end in March 2009, since that's when we began holding craft challenges. So prepare your donations for shipping by March and get your crafting skillz ready to go!
Rules: - All submissions to Craft Challenges over the year will earn you a point, no matter when they were submitted during the year. (So late entries count, and challenges #1 to current all count towards the 1st Olympics).
- Any artisan craft media is eligible in any challenge.
- Ties for the most points will share accumulated prizes as evenly as possible, and we'll try to match donated materials with your primary media (we'll try to give the donated yarn to knitters/crocheters before sculpters, and beads to beaders before quilters, etc).
- There will be a big Craft-Off at the end of the year (so between January and March) worth more points. It might have different rules/requirements each year so I won't elaborate right here. (ie we haven't thought it up yet hehe)
- You must make links in your first post of your personal craft thread to each of your challenge entry posts, so that we can calculate your points really easily. If you wish to add them up and keep a running tally of your points there along with it, that helps too! We'll edit the 2nd post of this thread with current points as we go along.
