I guess the challenge has come back to me, once again. Remember in the very first challenge that Jan made how we had the theme of making a snitch? Well, this challenge is going to be a little more general, it is simply going to be the theme of quidditch itself. (I thought this might be a fun subject to work with.) So -


The theme for challenge #4 is QUIDDITCH.


Here's your guide:

1. You have to begin it now, it can't be something you made before the challenge was issued.
2. It has to be related to the theme in some way, but not necessarily in the most obvious way.
3. You can use designs you found online or in books, or you can design something original.
4. You have two weeks from the date of the challenge issue to complete the craft.
5. Your craft can be any artisan craft medium; knit, crochet, wirework, beads, sculpture (bread dough, sculpey, fimo, porcelain clay, wood, stone, clay, metal art clay, glass, etc), food (cake deco, etc) or any other three dimensional object. Sorry, no graphics or pictures; we have other areas on SS that highlight that kind of art.
6. You must post a picture for us in this thread when you're done. Include info about it, what it's made of and such. If you want to share your pattern or include process pictures (how you make it), feel free!
7. This challenge is open and supportive of all levels of ability, from the very beginning beginner to the most advanced artist. All are welcome and praised!
8. Tell us what you're going to do with your final product; keep it, gift it or donate it.
9. First one to post their final project gets to pick the theme of the next challenge!!!

This challenge expires on May 17, 2008. (Though members are welcome to continue posting pics of any of their projects relating to bookmarks in this thread after the challenge ends as well as the previous themes (snitches, bookmark and house pride).

Note: I'll be gone a few days and won't be home till late Sunday night the 18th. Anyone who has posted a project here in this thread by that time is the next challenge poster. If there is no one to post yet, we will wait!

Well... I waited to the last minute, but YAY for me.

Because I'd already created a Quidditch themed bracelet, I went a totally different route with this one. I did an homage to the Quaffle, and Kris and I named this one "I Dream of Technicolor Quaffles". Heehee. I made it using a base metal wire and multicolored 8 mm rounds. I also made the clasp... rather proud of my first clasp effort.

This is REALLY late, but here it is! It's a cap I made from a pattern I found on line. The cap is black and features the snitch in yellow and white. It's neat, because the cap can be tied under the chin -
