Haiiiiiii. So, yeah, I've never really been all that big on poetry (at least not writing it... at least not for people to read...) sooooooo I hope I do myself justice with these. I'll try and cover a whole range of topics. :3

Anywayyyyyy. Basically, I'm Zoe. I'm sixteen. And I'm about to try my hand at poetry.

This one starts off about that mirror, when Harry thinks he sees Dumbledore, then he keeps thinking about the guy.

Through the mirror

I see that shiny twinkling eye,
And though I know it cannot be,
A hope, a wish inside my mind,
Wants you to stare on back at me.

The cut my finger has sustained;
Well that can just be healed.
The memories of that night remain,
Maybe somehow... it wasn't real?

I blink and stop and stare and hope
In vain for just one clue.
But in the end, I've lost that rope.
Of course; because it's you.

As days and weeks and months pass on,
I never became aware.
It was not you, but Aberforth...
That saved me from the lair.

So more and more the time passed by,
I thought you were my hope.
And then your brother, he said 'hi'
The one obsessed with goats.

That night we heard your tale and,
As your brother droned on and on,
I forgave your age old plans,
And realised you were gone.

*Jaw Drop!*

Okay, well... here's another one, and, if you've ever read The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe, you'll recognise the rhyming scheme. If not, you'll soon see it. It's my favourite rhyming scheme EVER!

The Dementor

Once when I had flown so highly, missed the snitch; made Cedric smiley
Then there came an awful chill that I had felt but once before
Once when on the train to Hogwarts, hearing screams and cries and all sorts
And right there, before my cohorts, down I fell, down to the floor
From the seat where I’d been sitting, down I fell, down to the floor
There I’d lain and smiled no more.

Surely in midair when flying, surely this should end in dying
Surely, surely, I thought nothing as I fell through deafening roar
There the screams returned so fearful, there I heard my mother, tearful
Ne’er again would I be cheerful, so I thought, whilst falling more
Gave up hope from that there moment, so I thought, whilst falling more
Landing- SQUELCH! -in mud galore!

Waking in the bed of healing, I stared up towards the ceiling
All the coldness here forgotten, though my teammates seemed outdoors!
Here they all stared, wond’ring freely, why my gaze was now so steely
All I knew that only, really, I’d a weakness to abhor
Or rather, it was a creature that I knew I would abhor
How I loathe thee, Dementor.

WOAH! That rhyming scheme is soooooo prettifull! i love it! i need to stalk the raven, if i can find it OMG you have such a way of making words all nicey please please please write a FF!! (if you dont have one already, and if you do, point me to it NOW!)

P.S. especially "There i'd lain and smiled no more." soooooo just... i cant think of a word even! erm...feely. Its feely! coz it makes you feel! there, all good.

here's another. just generally about when you cant do spells, then you can, and then they tell you something is beyond your age, and you can do it anyway xD

A sense of achievement

Have you ever cast a spell
And seen a great explosion
When all you really wanted was
To give a book some motion

You sit and cast and read all day
Research ‘til you fall down
But when you try and wave your wand
You’re met with a stern frown

And then, at last! You say your words
Look away; you can only hope.
The cat that you were vanishing
Is now a puff of smoke

But in the book it says, right there,
‘This spell is for beginners’
The poor little cats are gone for good.
Conjuring is for winners.

Ignoring rules of spells your age
Again you raise your wand
And say the magic wands, and LOOK!
The cat’s no longer gone.

Good job!!!

*sniffles* this one was hard to write, but something I always wanted to write. It's Harry looking back (the summer before his 6th year) to about Sirius dying

This is Goodbye

The worst thing, perhaps, was seeing you go
The features your face held, they hurt me to show
Surprise in your falling, life starting to fail
And backwards you fell, back through the veil.

If only I’d know, that my actions would lead
To you being banished. Why did I not heed…
The words of my friends, they knew of the lies
And now that you’re dead, a part of me dies.

It is all my fault, I can’t fix my error
And you, my godfather, you died, to my terror
I missed you that day, and every day since
My actions to blames, those words I won’t mince

If only I’d learnt, to close but my mind,
I wouldn’t have have charged off, thinking I’d find
You in the halls- but now I must cry…
Because now I have realised… this is goodbye.

Lessons and Homework

I gaze upon your irksome words
And think of things to write
For some, the ideas come in herds
For me, inspiration's tight

The Runes that come in old stones
On paper and on wood
Will etch themselves upon my bones
If I ever think them good

The numbers in Arithmancy
Where one plus one is two
Will scramble brains to their fancy
'Til the answer ne'er comes to you

Astronomy, with moons and stars
And planets made of gas
If I could fling this work to Mars
I'd party o'er this landmass

The creatures of this wizarding world
Well, they don't seem so bad
But wait 'til they take a bite outta you
And you hafta draw one... without your hand

The subject that seems easiest
Well... magic-wise... is Charms
But you go make a Pineapple dance
And tell me it's no harm

Defence Against the Dark Arts
One you can't be without
To magically stop one with a Dark heart
Instead of punching them in the snout

The lesson not for doubtfuls
Where the future is divined
'Prophecies' made in mouthfuls
And some are less than kind

Venemous Tentacula
You'd do well to watch your back
Though Herbology ain't spectacular
The danger has no lack

There's tales of great rebellions
And wars, about things earned
But the textbook is but a skeleton
To fun info, never learned

So, this class is quite pointless
If you were raised by muggle folk
To good wizards it is fascinating
To death eaters, a tasteless joke

All kinds of real gross creature parts
Are used in a pewter pot
The result will smell like rat farts
If your potion starts to rot

Now, soaring high on school brooms
That's one thing we should like
No cars will backfire with great BOOMS
No effort of a bike

Transfiguration is super
It calls for use of wand
You can point this at your homework
It's there, then- POOF!- it's gone!
