*gapes in awe* That was a-ma-zing! One thing though, I don't know if it's because PoA was longer or what, it seemed like you took more shortcuts that the previous 2 poems. i mean, it seemed like you skipped more stuff this time. but still, it was an amazing poem!! *bows to the master*

Thanks Lai, for the gracious comments, you are right I did really cut it down since the story was so long, I didn't want the poems to become too lengthy but still keep the highlights if possible......

Good job. I'm not sure if you've done one about Hermione, but if you didn't can you please write one?

Well there's certainly no rule about how long or short a poem needs to be. I tend to make them all about 7-10 stanzas if trying to tell a story but some of mine are only 1-2. And I write them sporadically, sometimes I get inspired and will write several in several days. Other times, it may be a couple of weeks before I think of something to write about. In fact, below is my newest one that I decided to include in one the HP sites that asked for a submission to go along with one's name for entry into the WB contest that several sites are particiating in including SS.

good luck

I was looking at another website who is also running the WB contest and they asked for an essay, pic or some other HP related thing so, as usual, I wrote a poem since I can't draw or write essays.......

and I deciced to post it here too because it's relevant with tomorrow's release of GoF......enjoy

The Maze

Through Dragons and Merpeople you came out ahead,
Even though you didn’t enter the race.
Though you beat all the odds by not ending up dead,
It’s a monstrous maze you must face.

To the winner all glory and a cup made of gold,
It’s the chance of a lifetime, they say.
Use your instinct and magical talents you’re told,
To defeat dangerous foes on the way.

Your wand is your compass to “four-point” left or right,
And lead you to complete victory.
You progress through the maze using Lumos for light,
And not knowing where danger may be.

You complete the Sphinx riddle and the upside down cloud,
Feel you must be so near to the end.
Had to jinx Viktor Krum when Cedric yelled out aloud,
And you both thought he could be your friend.

To the middle you race as the spider moves in
And it’s Cedric that now you must save.
You both grab the Cup so together you’ll win,
But are port-keyed to Tom Riddle’s grave.

With some bones from his senior and blood from your vein,
Lord Voldemort rises anew.
And he calls his Death-eaters to join him again,
To begin doing what Death-eaters do.

The Dark Lord is unsure as your wands lock to each,
It’s a battle between life and death.
You grab Cedric’s body, for the cup then, you reach,
And return to the maze out of breath.

All the galleons you’ve won doesn’t mean anything,
To what the Wizarding world has learned,
That the headlining piece on the Prophet will ring,
Lord Voldemort has been returned.

Default Owls and Elves, Christmas at Hogwarts

I have always wondered what goes on at Christmas in the Wizarding world other than what we've seen in the books so I took the liberty of taking a guess........hope you enjoy it and Happy Christmas...

Owls and House Elves

The new fallen snow on the ground is so bright
That it wakens them early this day
For the busiest time of the year is tonight
To do Christmas, the wizarding way.

Chocolate frogs that keep leaping, trying hard to escape
Pumpkin Pasties and fresh Cauldron cakes
They’ve even delivered an invisibility cape
Plus whatever the Zonko’s shop makes

Once the presents are wrapped and tied neatly with bows
It’s the owls that deliver the toys
From the homes of the wizarding parents, to those
Good wizarding girls and boys

Hand sewn sweaters for Weasleys and candy galore
And a box full of Bernie Bott’s beans
Brand new trainers and self correcting quill pens will soar
It’s one of the most magical scenes

They take flight from their perches and set to the air
Never thinking about themselves
It’s their owners and keepers for which they all care
To return with their loads for the elves

As they fly through the night trying not to get hit
By that Muggle who dresses in red
A right jolly ole elf, but he drives like a git
They’d be better off owled instead

They pass over the grounds near the Hogwart’s Great Hall
Where twelve towering Christmas trees stand
With holly and mistletoe hung on the wall
And soon sparkling snowflakes will land

Enlightened suits of armor enchanted to sing
Christmas carols of holiday cheer
Sending promise of what the next Christmas will bring
And be thankful for blessings this year

To the top of the owlery the packages fly
On the wings just as silent as ghosts
Where a line up of house elves stands ready to try
To deliver these Christmas Eve posts

To each dorm they must go without making a sound
They pass secretly throughout the night
So when morning arrives each four poster is found
Stacked with presents by dawn’s early light

With the joy of a two-year-old, wrappings are torn
And the secrets within are released
They compare the new trinkets and the clothes to be worn
‘Round the school, to the Holiday feast

There’s a hundred roast turkeys and beef piled high
And tureensful of sweet buttered peas
Christmas puddings conceal silver sickles inside
Pumpkin juice mugs are stacked up in threes

As the wizarding holiday draws to a close
We’re reminded of why we are blessed
Seasons greetings to you, Happy Christmas to all
Now the owls and house elves will rest
