| thank you so much everybody......okay here's the next one it's a parody of "twas the night before christmas".....just one note that the characters are changed a bit from the books since I wrote it using characters from an RP.....enjoy....
'Twas the Night Before Qudditch
Twas the night before Quidditch, when all through the pitch
Not a seeker was stirring, not wizard nor witch
The brooms had been placed in their stands with great care
In anticipation of splitting the air
The players were nestled in their four posted beds
While visions of snitches danced in their heads
With Jay as our chaser and Ron as our keep
We’d all settled down for a restless night’s sleep
When out on the grounds there rose such a noise
I sprang from my bed as did the other boys
Away to the window we raced just to see
The source of the clatter and who it might be
The moon was so full on the grounds there that night
That you could have been fooled and thought it daylight
When what to our wondering eyes should come out
But the Gamekeeper Hagrid, and to us he did shout
Now Winston and Potter, is Weasley there too
Come down here right quick, I’ve got something for you
More rapid than hippogriffs all three boys went
To meet the half giant, but a civilized gent
He was dressed in all skins from his bottom to top
His teeth were all crooked, his hair like a mop
A bundle of something he had flung on his back
And he looked like Mundungus with loot in his pack
His eyes, how they twinkled, his hair so ungroomed
His breath held the traces of the meade he’d consumed
He had a broad grin and his beard, what a sight
Was so bushy and long as black as the night
He was chubby and plump ‘bout the size of 20 elves
And we laughed when we saw him in spite of ourselves
A wink of his eyes and a tweak of his ear
Soon gave us notice we had nothing to fear
He spoke not a word but went straight to his task
Gave us each a few presents with a pause for his flask
They were charms for good luck for tomorrow’s big game
To each they were tailored with none being the same
For Jay as the chaser, an eagle to fly
For Ron a charmed mitt, so no quaffle gets by
To the seeker, that’s Harry, well he gets the last
A new set of glasses to catch the snitch fast
And when he was done, Hagrid turned with a jerk
He’d given his presents and finished his work
And laying his hand in his cloak with a wink
He wished us all well and he left with a drink
He walked back to his hut where he turned at the door
And he waved us goodbye as he spoke up once more
We all heard him exclaim as the through the door, he fell in
Good luck in the match and I hope y’all win ....Sir Spots

| Okay, to all my loyal fans, sorry it's taken so long to submit another poem, hope the wait was worth it, ......enjoy
Hogwarts
She rises in the distant sky,
Her silhouette you’ll see,
The home for wizard teens to try,
To learn their fate, like me.
Each day the sun casts rays of gold,
Upon her stones of grey,
Each night she stands up strong and bold,
It’s always been that way.
She protests not the pounding rain,
Nor howling winds that call,
While inside future wizards train,
Oblivious to it all.
Her towers reach towards heavens near,
Her walls hold in the grounds,
Protecting hearts of those who fear,
The dark forest that surrounds.
Her hallways hold the tales of past
Adventures, mystery,
Where memories linger, echoes last,
Awaiting more to be.
For those who wish more mischief play,
Or sneak amongst the grounds,
A maze of secret passageways,
And tunnels can be found.
Through times of perils and of joys,
Her dungeons’ve stood the test,
Where once the lives of girls and boys,
Were chased by Basilisk.
The common rooms of houses four,
And fireplaces greet,
Each new term class pass through their doors,
To gather, and to meet.
Above those rooms, the bedrooms lay,
Protecting all from sight,
And grant them hope for each new day,
Through peace and dream-filled night.
In all her corridor’s expanse,
There’s one that bests them all,
Who’s ceiling sky is night enhanced,
The Hogwart’s own Great Hall.
The feasts and celebrations here,
Rival those of Queens and Kings,
The House awards at end of year,
The revelry it brings.
The colored banners proudly wave,
Upon her arches high,
Proclaiming all the victor gave,
And dare the rest to try.
For years she’s stood a symbol for,
All wizards to aspire,
To thousands past and thousands more,
If that is their desire
So welcome first years come and spend
Seven years with her and see,
If castle at the long road’s end,
Is all I’ve said she’d be.
She stands a rigid testament,
For all whose fate she calls,
To join a ritual that’s been spent,
Amongst her hallowed walls. |

A bolt of lightning, a thunderous boom
The last things I remember
The sudden held breaths of those who witnessed
My death, that game in December.
A seventh year seeker for Gryffindor
This victory would seal the Cup
The snitch held tight within my grasp
In celebration I held it up.
A gesture made a hundred times
To honor my Quidditch instructor
That fateful time, the metal ball
Would act as a conductor.
A thousand volts, a million more
Passed through me, sure to kill
But those who’d celebrate my death
Were cheated by my will.
To fly, was all I ever knew
The game was it, to me
To die would end my dream come true
Now death will never be.
Between the stage of life and death
Is where I play my game
And though my dream still lives in me
Alone, it’s not the same.
I’ve lost more than the game, you see
Serena was my life
Next to Quidditch, she meant the most to me
In my dreams, to be my wife.
To her I’m gone, in truth, I am
She’s forgotten how much I cared
I’m grateful, at least, that she can live
Though, I long for what we shared.
But now I get a second chance
As Gryffindor House Ghost
To be around this school again
And the game I loved the most.
Headmaster Hendrik’s made me feel
So close to the game again
Although a ghost, and not alive
I seek, I clutch, I win.
To assist the teachers in this school
And tell my stories too
Was more than I could dream about
And more than he should do.
So here I am and here I’ll be
Ghostly Quidditch will I play
And if they’ll keep a place for me
Then this is where I’ll stay.

Just one thing, the following stanza didn't quite flow for me: Quote: Headmaster Hendrik’s made me feel
So close to the game, that I’ve
Never felt as good as this
Since when I was alive. | thanks to Kris's careful and appreciated assistance this stanza became Headmaster Hendrik’s made me feel
So close to the game again
Although a ghost, and not alive
I seek, I clutch, I win. thanks....Spots |

| Would Anybody Care?
If I didn’t pass that fateful day
Competing in the game I’d play
If there was any other way
Would anybody care?
If I was here, to be again
Enjoyment from the game I’d win
And somehow let my life begin
Would anybody care?
If I returned from whence I came
To live beyond that final game
Would anyone here know my name
Would anybody care?
If I returned and lived life good
Will things be as I hoped they would
Will she still love me if she could
Would anybody care?
The potion can make it come true
A really risky thing to brew
But if it does what it says it’ll do
Would anybody care?
I ponder morning, noon and night
To find the answer, see the light
Not if it’s wrong or if it’s right
Would anybody care? |
