September 14th

Dear Journal,

It’s been a week since I’ve been in Hogwarts and I haven’t got a chance to write here. Anyway, I would just like to put an update on the highlights of this week…

Highlight number one: Mum sent me a howler on the second day for making it to Gryffindor! I knew Regulus would send her an owl about that! The traitor!!! Now everyone in my family disowns me! Like I’d care!!! I made some really good friends! That’s highlight number two.

James, Remus, and Peter are awesome. They have been very supportive since the day I got my howler. They really are awesome!!! And I’ve already wrote that twice! Although, Remus is acting a bit funny…oh well…

On to highlight number three, which is me getting detention. Just a first few days and I already have detention. Then I caused more trouble…well, actually me and James caused trouble and we got Peter and Remus into detention too.

Now, that’s where I’m off to…detention. Write to you later…

Update coming, but I don't have time now. I just wanted to jot this down to remind me to write about what happened in Hogsmeade last night. Right now, we are off to light a fire under Snape as he prepares a difficult potion. Like anyone cares about potions anyway. Be back soon.

Dear Journal,

I knew that Peter was up to something but couldn't prove it. Well now I know for sure, the spell that I had placed on our door went off last night. I thought at first that it was James or Lupin coming in late but then I realized that it was the rat sneaking out. I grabbed James's invisablilty cloak from it's hiding place and debated for just a second on waking him up to see if he wanted to go. I thought it might be better to find out for myself first what was going on before I brought James and Lupin into it. James did not think that Peter was smart enough to carry anything complex off by himself. Well what if he was helping someone else? I opened the door slowly and noticed with a smile that Lupin indeed could here the silent alarm as he threw his pillow up over his head. I walked out the door shutting it softly. I saw Peter going down the hall and had no qualms about following him. He kept looking around like he was expecting someone but yet he continued to walk. He went down the staircase into the Great Hall and still he continued on. I noticed then that he was headed for the dungeons. I guess that rat boy would feel at home in the dank and dark found down here. He stopped out side of the door at the end of the hall and knocked, To my surpise the door opened. I could not believe it why would he come here to meet with Snape. Severus looked out into the hall way. "Well come on in then I haven't got all night. What did you need to see me about that was so important" hissed Snape. Sirius stood on the other side of the room in complete shock they had tortured the slimy headed git for seven years and now Peter was making nice why? What did Peter think that Snape could do for him. "I needed to see you about you know who."squeaked Peter. "I will not discuss this at the school Dumbledore has ways of finding out when we plot against him if we do it here." Snape opened the door and told Peter to get out and he slunk back up stairs. Sirius on the other hand decided to stay with Snape who went to the back of the room and raised the sleeve of his shirt up and stared at his arm for the longest time. Sirius looked over his shoulders at a tattoo of a skull and a snake. The snake was in motion. He did not know it yet but he had just met his first Deatheater and saw the Darkmark for the first time.

September 25th

Dear Journal,

Today was the most sharing day in the history of my life yet! Maybe this is more like the most sharing year…*scratches head* Anyway, onto the sharing part…

Potions class today was sort of interesting. Professor Slughorn was yapping stuff and as always, I didn’t care what he was saying. I just usually cheat off Lily, this girl in my House who I think James is crushing on. Anyway, Slughorn told us to get some ingredients and put them in the cauldron. James and I partnered and Remus partnered with Peter. James was pretending to read the book while I copied off Lily and her partner. Then once we were done, we put the potion in vials. Then he gave us homework to drink it in the common room.

When we were up in the common room James, Remus, Peter, and I sat on one corner. James took out the vial and drank some of the potion first. “Now what?” he asked us. “I dunno…what was that potion for anyway?” I replied. “I haven’t the foggiest!” he replied. Remus was about to say something when James continued, “I was too busy pretending to read the book when I was really thinking of…mmff…” he clasped his mouth before he said a name. “Thinking of whom?” I asked. “Mmmfff...of mmfeeff..” he struggled not to say. “That was a truth potion…” Remus explained pointing at the struggling James. James got a cushion and covered his face with it. “I..mmfs…thffkmm..mff..mmfeeff!” he shouted at the pillow. The three of us just stared at him. “I’m thinking I’m not the only one with issues here…” I said confused.

“So, who’s next?” asked Remus. We looked at each other. Then we looked at Remus. “Why me?” he asked looking terrified. “Well, you’ve been kinda secretive…maybe we can finally know why!” James smirked. “But…what about Peter?” he countered. James pushed the vial towards Remus. Remus just stared for a couple of minutes then he snatched the vial and drank the potion. “What’s your greatest secret?” James asked quickly. “I’m a wrffmf!” he said clasping his mouth. “Excuse me?” Peter asked. Remus inhaled deeply and whispered. “I’m a werewolf…” We all stared at him in shock. “What?!” we asked together. “You heard me…” he replied. “I got bitten by a werewolf when I was little, so I’m a werewolf.” He whispered looking down. “Every full moon of the month,” he continued, “Dumbledore asks Professor Slughorn to conjure up a potion and I take it before I transform and stay in the Shrieking Shack for the night.” He ended looking at our bewildered faces. “That’s why it’s called the Shrieking Shack! You howl there?” James asked. “Sssshhh! Yeah…I howl there. People think it’s like a shriek though…”he replied.

I was (and I still am) a bit scared of Remus once he told us he was a werewolf. I figured I should take the next sip on the count of Peter was the next most secretive and I didn’t want to learn he was the Giant Squid or something. I took the sip and stared at the boys. “Um, what…what do you think of…your brother?” Peter asked. “I think he’s a lousy, backstabbing git…but you already know that…” I replied. “Alright, Peter, you next.” I said handing him the vial. He drank it and James asked, “Let’s just get this over with, so what secret can you share with us?” “Ummm…I think Professor Slughorn looks like a sofa…” he replied. We stared at him “Now that I think about it, he does look like the sofa in the parlor…” I replied. “I think that’s enough secrets for the day don’t you?” Remus said. We nodded and waited for the potion to wear off.

Up until now, we’re still waiting for that potion to wear off. I have to go. Me and the boys are going down to the common room and spy on the girls as they share their secrets! I’ll write them all tomorrow!

Dear Journal,

So I was thinking, why am I mean to 'Snivellus all of the time? I mean sure he has greasy black hair that would pollute the ocean faster than you could say, "Snort is a Sport", and yes he has a hooked nose that you could hang a cloak on, and yeah he is pale and looks like he should be in a morgue. Believe me I could go.....and yes he keeps to himself and thinks he is better than everyone else. But does that really give the right to be so awful to him? *ponders for 2 seconds* Yes it does give me the right. Journal you really help me to see the light. Or rather I help me to see the light by writing in you who allows me to read my thoughts over just to come to the conclusion that I was correct all along. Gotta go Snape gets out of class in a few minutes and I promised myself that I would make him cry today.

Journal,

This is another entry...Still no time to talk about the trip to hogsmeade. Peter is up to something. I have followed him for 2 weeks now and he is just doing some weird stuff. Whenever he wants to sneak off, he takes on his rat form and then goes somewhere else. Usually to meet Snape or and you are never going to believe this, Lucius Malfoy. I know he only graduated last year and is an up and coming star in the Ministry, but I never trusted that snake. Something fishy is going on with Peter and I intend to find out what.

Dear Journal...

Wow...When was the last time I wrote it here? Well, if you remember back to the last time I wrote...My only wish was for a little bit of excitement...Well, it's safe to say that my wish came true... But, not in the way I wanted it to. Turns out that James' and Lily planned a little muggle field trip during our Holiday break. They actually expected me to go magic-free for a full week? How boring would that be? Well, we ended up in some muggle prison ... It was so easy to get out of...Sometimes, I wonder if it would be that easy in Azkaban. Who knows? Maybe we can go on a field trip there next time.... {Only joking}

Dear Journal,

I have put all of the things in here that happened the other night with Snape and Peter. I want to tell James and Lupin what I saw and find out what they think that is going on here at the school. McGonagall made me take you out today and show you to her so that she could see that I was continuing to write in here. I ask her if she liked what she saw and smiled when she said that when she gave out the journal she did not want a play by play of my dating habits. I will have to write down the spell I used to cover up my actual ramblings before I forget it. If it can fool McGonagall it is definitly worth saving. I have decided to tell James and Lupin what I saw as soon as we can ditch the rat. I know now that something is going on here at the school and it is up to me and my trusty journal to uncover the plot. He read what he wrote and closed the book it was time to bring the others in and find out what they thought.

Dear Journal,

It has been far too long since I have been to you and not much has happened. It seems as though all my friends have abandoned me and it causes me some concern. I sit here and wait for them to rescue me from the horrors of my family and yet...nothing.

I hope I haven't done anything to make them angry. I really do care for them and wish they would come around again.

That's enough self-pity for now. Will try to be more upbeat next time.

Dear Journal,

I have told James and Remus what happened the other night but they have other things worrying them now. Remus is freaking out because Newt testing is about here and he is determined to ace them all our smart little wolf. James has Lily on the brain and nothing will help there. He is madly in love. I bet they get married after school they are great together. I have been keeping a close eye on Snape and Wormtail for the past few days. I see Severus rub at his arm like he wanted get ride of the mark that I know is there. If they do not make a move soon then I will never find out what is going on. School will end within the month and I will be gone. I used some of the Black family money the other day that was left to me by my uncle and bought this awesome bike. I plan on taking a trip when I graduate from Hogwarts. I do not know where I will go I am going to just go where the road takes me. I will write more soon. I would never tell Minerva but I am glad that she had us write journals.

Journal o mine,

James is kind funny these days. He went up to the dorm room, saying he needed to be alone for a while. He had come in all excited looking and wouldn't tell me why. So...I snuck up and watched him writing in his 'secret' journal. then he got up and danced around the room. Such a dork. I walked in, he slammed the book shut and in a shaky voice said, "what's up, Sirius?"

School will be over in a few weeks and you know what I will miss this place. I never really stopped to consider, but this has been my home other than the Potter's, the only real home that I have known. I am cosidering that when I have had my time on the road, say maybe a year to roam free, then I was thinking about coming back here as a teacher. I would never tell James and Lupin this for fear that they would take the mickey out of me if I did. I will have a conversation with Minerva before I leave the school and see what she thinks. I rather believe even with the pranks that we pulled over the years that James, Remus and I are her favorite students. Plus for an added bonus she can't laugh on the off chance that this is the one time I am being serious.

Dear Journal, July 31st

Hello again...so, today I found out that yet another girl likes me. This is getting rather boring. Wish I could just find a girl as good as Lily is to Prongs. *laughs* Not that I like her, mind you. Well....I guess there's nothing really interesting to say. Oh...Prongs and I tortured Snivellus again today. But we do that every day, so there's nothing really new about that, is there?

Well, I guess I'll be going..perhaps I can make Wormtail do my stupid Potions homework for me again. Until next time!

Dear Journal,

Well we have exactly one week and then school will be out. I can not believe after all these years that the Marauders will be leaving Hogwarts. James and Lily are really serious about each other and I think that before long they will be married and that is as it should be. Remus wants to continue his education but it may be difficult with his little problem so I think that Dumbledore has agreed to tutor him when he has the time. I just want to get out of here and hop on my bike and ride. The probability of that happening is slim to none though. Once school is out I will have to think more along the lines of roof over my head and food in my belly. So that means interviews and a job. I have really good grades and could always go to work for the Ministry but that is not really where I see myself. I have enough money to get by on for a year or two thanks to my uncle. I would have had more if I had not splurged on this motorcycle. I guess that I will be ending this entry because I hear my friends coming up the stairs and I want to talk to them. We are planning something extra special for Snape over the next week because we just don't know how long it will be before we get to see him again.
