Fan Club Events and Announcements
We will be updating this thread with all club announcements and activites.


1. Fan Club Officers needed!

As you know, Lissydove and Mad Eye Touz are the sponsors and Holders of Padfoot's Leash, but we will need officers for the club to help oversee and organize activities. We will be choosing two (yes two!) co-presidents who in turn will help us to choose other club officers. What we need is for all interested parties to PM us the answers to the following questions. Feel free to apply even if you do not wish to be president, as we will be having honorary titles such as 'Padfoot's Chew Toy'.

The Questions:

1. What are Sirius' hair and eye colors?

2. What is the meaning of Sirius' name and how does it relate to his animagus form?

3. At what age did Sirius move out of his family's home? Why? Where did he go?

4. What is the item that Sirius gave to Hagrid on the night the Potters were killed? Why?

5. What was the reward for recapturing Sirius after his escape from Azkaban?

6. How did Sirius gain entry to Hogwarts when he attempted to get to Scabbers in Gryffindor Tower?

7. What was the prank that Sirius played that ended up with James having to warn Snape and thus save his life?

8. What are your feelings about Sirius' having to stay at Grimmauld Place during OoTP? How did it lead to his demise?

9. What are your theories on the veil? (please feel free to be creative, there are no wrong answers)

10. What would make you a good officer for the Sirius Black Fan Club? What kind of activites would you plan?

3. Be sure to submit your name and birthdate to participate in the SBFC birthday cards! Post in the thread or contact an officer! See this post for details.

4. The SBFC is getting close to our 100th member! As a treat to celebrate this landmark, a lovely avvie by our dear Chelle will be presented to the 100th member. Be on the lookout, this lucky member is coming soon. See this post for details.

5. The SBFC has it's very own smiley thanks to our sweet Amber! :SBFC: Use it often and proudly!

6. Show your fan club pride by wearing a SBFC siggie! Your Sponsor, Lissy, will add them for you. Requests by PM. See this post for details.

7. How many reasons to we have to love Sirius? Well, we came up with 101 in less then a day. Check out this post by Amber, who kindly compiled them into a list. Great job guys!

8. Participate in the Sirius Black Caption Contest! See this post for details! The deadline for this round is Monday, May 1st !

9. stepsmad4eva1984 has taken the role of a 'Holder of Padfoots Leash' in the place of Mad Eye Touz and is now alongside Lissydove.
This also means that Mad-Eye04 will now be a Co-President alongside Blackened! They will both be discussing finding a Vise President for the club to fill the position.

10. I, QuidditchChick, will be making official member dog tags for any member that would like one. (See this post for details.) Be sure to send me your pm's today!

~ collect, compile and forward SBFC information to presidents
~ keep records of the ongoing SBFC activities [to start with, the Birthday List]
~ draw up lists of issues discussed in SBFC meetings

Treasurer:

~ keep track and have permission to award points to members in case of competitions, contests, etc
~ keep records of members’ prizes and conduct within competitions
~ keep a list of the above mentioned, forward it to presidents on a regular basis

Event/Activity Organizers:
Emil-Owich
Pigwidgeon Took

~ expected to forward their ideas/initiatives to the presidents
~ responsible with doing activity reminders and organization among members
~ working as liaisons between presidents and the other members [especially those not occupying officer positions] - keep contact with them

Club Promotion Officers:

~ responsible with recruiting new members
~ promoting the SBFC throughout the site
~ representing the SBFC in relation to the other fan clubs

Graphics Makers:

~ to be contacted in the case of awarding graphics as part of prizes for competitions

13. The SBFC have selected its new Vice President, and it shall be LadyNRd73 aka Stacey.

19. The competition has now ended and I have to say that we did AWESOME!!!!! I noticed everyone out there with their Sirius for President signs or their tshirts (which was really cool by the way) voting for our favorite character in the HP series. I just have to say that I am extremely proud of everyone for their wonderful help with the competition.

With that being said, the only thing left now is the "waiting patiently" for them to count the votes. *crosses fingers* I think that we have done an excellent job and have blown away some of the competition out there.

20. Round 2 of the competition has begun and we need your support!!! Click here to show your support for Sirius!!!!

Heads up everyone because the rules have changed.

Round Two:

All rules from the last round are still in place (you can't post multiple times in a row, though the same character/actor can be posted multiple times in a row). However, unlike last round, a simple "So-n-so is my man!" is not gonna do. Nope. Gone are those simple days. For this round you are going to have to use an adjective (word that describes) to describe your person in your post AND the starting letter of that adjective will change with each post. We'll start with A and go through the alphabet to Z and start over again.

Now, I realize there are a limited number of adjectives available and even I can't think of many useful ones that start with X so, you are allowed to reuse adjectives and you CAN create adjectives from other words, even if the adjective you create isn't a real word (such as spunkerrific). Make sure you use this within reason because I will be checking each and every post.

If a bunch of people post all at the same time and they post the same letter, don't worry about it. So long as the time stamps show that you posted at the same time, I will count all of the posts as valid. However, you MUST post in ABC order and you CANNOT skip letters just because you can't come up with something. This round is supposed to be a little more difficult than the last one.

I have also made a list of Adjectives!!! I hope this helps because it helps me!!!

21. Well guys and gals, Round 2 is over with and I must say thank you to everyone who participated, even if it was one tiny little vote, every little bit helps. Biochemkris has posted at the very end of the thread that it will take at least 3 days to unspam the thread and tally up the votes so lets all be patient as our wonderful Admins go through almost 13,000 post, which just so happens to be more than the first competition.

22. I am here to say that we are on our way in Round 3!!! It has just been announced that SBFC along with the Rupert Grint Fan Club will be head to head in the next round!! Good luck to both clubs as I am sure we will all be up all hours of the night!!!


Also in the graphics thread on the 2nd page myself along with a few others have made some wonderful "Vote Sirius" graphics and I know that I, myself would love to see those wonderful graphics flying everywhere!!

Most of you must know it already, but there's plenty of reason to rejoice. XD

The Sirius Black Fan Club is one of the two finalists of the WIYM competition. We have had some wonderfully dedicated posters till now, and we expect many more for the 3rd and final installment of the contest.

The 3rd round will open soon ~ the date has not been announced, nor will it be publicized, so make sure you keep a lookout for its beginning.

But let your love for Sirius be shown and VOTE!! We need as much of your support as you all are willing to give. And it would be much helpful if you could spread the word around SS. The more the merrier!
Let's oficially make Sirius our champion!

23. By now everyone of our MVP voters got their customized avatar. You earned it fair and square!. Sponsers and Presidents are very proud of you, and you have proved to everyone that you have become SBFC royalty.

This announcement is for members that have not yet recieved a customized MVP avatar. If you are interested in getting one, its fairly simple! All you have to do is vote for sirius atleast 10 times in round 3 and PM either me (Mad-Eye04), Chris (blackened), or stacey (LadyNRD73) your post numbers and we will send you one immediately .
