Actually, there is no cussing allowed anywhere on SS, including the Restricted Section (FFs, RPs, or Ch@ Box). Even using symbols to replace key letters in order to defeat the censor are not allowed.

There are several forums for role playing on SS.

Knockturn Alley

*The Common Room is for more basic role plays with G or PG themes. This is the most lenient of all the areas to role play and perfect for beginners.

*RPG with the Cast is for role playing as members of the HP cast.

*The Riddle House is a role-playing forum where more in-depth role-playing occurs. This excludes one-line posts, but requires multiple paragraphs for deeper emphasis. This differs from the other role-playing forum (Common Rooms), since it is heavily moderated. The themes of these role plays are G or PG.

Then, of course, there is Salazar's Lair. Salazar's Lair is very similar to the Riddle House only we do allow more mature themes and there are a few more restrictions with regards to activity and depth of storyline. This is the most advanced role playing forum on the site.

You can have more than one RP open at a time, just make sure they stay active. If an RP remains unposted in for at least a week, it is subject to the inactive RP rule of the forum and may be closed and deleted after another week.

RP's in this forum do not go through the normal approval process. They automatically appear in this forum. However, we do keep a close eye on all RP's here and if a submitted RP breaks the rules, we will find it and you can be given a warning.

In the Knockturn Alley forums, yes, you may RP if not sorted. The only place you cannot RP if you are not sorted is in the school RPG.

Absolutely! Some role-plays allow made-up characters, others prefer to keep it canon-based; it really depends on the RP itself and it's creator, but yes. In Knockturn Alley (RPG) you CAN use your School and/or Ministry character if you wish to, but no you do not HAVE use either; you're free to use whatever character you like, as long as the creator of the RP in question approves and you are role-playing for your character and not someone elses.

Most commonly, the RP thread creator will ask that the members who join post their character's bio in the thread before the actual RPing begins, but we do have a thread in KA for members to save their characters bio's (all in ONE post, as the thread states ) which you can find here: Character Archives.

Smoking or anything regarding the use of tobacco products is not allowed anywhere on SS, including Salazar's Lair.

I was reading up on the general SS rules as well as Salazar's rules and fear this is still a silly question: Talk of suicide (attempt or actual) isn't tolerated at all, is that correct?
