Draco and Pansy are dating, of course, but Draco doesnt take Pansy seriously, he doesnt think that she loves him as much as she says she does, and he never tells her how he feels about her, even though he feels the same way.

At the same time, Ron is having problems with Hermione, he recently told her about his feelings for her, and now she is ignoring him, not because she does not feel the same, but because she is scared, and wont admit it.

The teachers have decided to promote house unity by throwing a ball, and not allowing students of the same house to attend together. Draco doesnt seem to think this is a problem for him, because as far as he knows, Pansy has no plans of asking anyone.

Eager to spark any kind of emotion, including jealousy from their partners, Pansy and Ron go to the ball together, and their charade is so successful that they decide to keep it up, in hopes that it will drive Draco and Hermione crazy.

The problem arises when Ron and Pansy start to develop feelings for the other, and dont know what to do about it.

Draco and Hermione have to actually work relationships and woo Ron and Pansy back before they lose them to the other.

History: Candy was raised in America. Her parents were both muggles and didn't know about these strange things that continually happened to their daughter, but they were supportive of her. Once they figured out she harnessed magic they looked up a magic school right away, determined to send her to the best one. Of course, they found Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where she was accepted.
Personality: Candy is a docile thing. She's very quiet and very sweet. She tries as hard as she can to be nice to everyone and is always smiling. Her personal motto is "Never frown, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile." She tries very hard and is very much a perfectionist.

History: A Brit born and raised. One parent a muggle, one a witch- his mother. He had a fine upbringing, rather on the wealthy side. His parents got along, he behaved well, a rather boring childhood. That being accept the wizard thing. Ryan loves to stir up a bit of trouble, but is more the idea guy- he likes staying out of the light.
Personality: Ryan can be very proper, he was born to be that way. His family always taught him about manners, manners, manners!. However, with his friends he's very laid back and just loves thinking up troubling thoughts. His friends are the ones that would actually go through with it- if his mother ever found out... oh, he'd be in big trouble!
Appearance: Ryan is a handsome young man. Rather tall and rather muscular, and also rather proper, he's the epitome of what any mother wants her daughter to date. Wavy light brown hair comes to his ears and he has very nice blue eyes. He's a brain, but also has the brawn. Perfect? Well, not quite.

Pansy was not happy. Not at all. She slumped her way into ther Great Hall, her shoes clicking on the floor loudly, not that anyone noticed, it was far too loud. Sliding into a seat at the Sytherin table, she propped her chin up with her hand and waited for someone of interest to talk to. Ever since Draco had been named Head Boy, he was spending a lot more time tormenting people with his new found powers than being with her. And she didnt like that one bit.

Hermione looked over her shoulder anxiously, she had sucessfully avoided talking to Ron on the Hogwarts Express, but she wasnt so sure how long she could keep it up, he seemed to be everywhere thses days. Not that she didnt love spending time with him, but after his recent announcement of his "feelings" for her, every time she was with him was completly awkward.....to say the least.

Ooc: No probs, I just hope too much doesn't happen in the week I'm gone, I leave tomorrow morning.
Candy was an extremely organized person, very spic-and-span. Her heels tapped on the floor of the Great Hall as she sat down at the Hufflepuff table with a bunch of her friends. She grabbed a pastry and a cup of coffee. Within moments they were talking and giggling like they had been there for ages. Pretty and popular, and yet single. She wasn't sure why, but she didn't ordinarily care-- except now with the announcement of a dance. How she would love to go! But she would need a date.

Sometimes it was a pain to be so well-brought-up. Ryan was taught to always be early, and even school did not change that about him. He was the first one of his friends to arrive to breakfast. He grabbed a full breakfast meal as he waited for his late, slacker friends to arrive. He thought about this dance they were just being told about. Should he even go? Who would he bring?

Ron walked into the Great Hall and scanned it for Harry and Hermione. Ever since he had blurted in an awkward moment of true-confessions 'I really like you' to Hermione, things had been beyond awkward. He spotted her, and his hand sprang up to the back of his neck, to rub on it in his typical embarrassed-awkward-I-don't-know-what-to-do gesture. He made his way over to where she was sitting rather reluctantly.

Draco smirked at the look on the face of the first year he had just put into detention. Barely the first day of classes, and he has already managed to give out 6 detentions. He would have to slow down soon, the teachers would get suspicious. Although the thought made him rather irritated. He shoved aside a 4th year Hufflepuff and made his way over to the Slytherin Table. He walked as if he owned the school, which he practically did if you thought about it.

Hermione looked up when she heard Ron come over and busied herself quickly with making small talk with a third year. She hoped Ron didnt burst out with another I like you a lot, she didnt know if she could take it.

Pansy heard a bunch of second years complaining as Draco pushed through them, she rolled her eyes, he was still enjoying his power instead of enjoying time with her. She was starting to get jealous of his new found glory.

Ron plopped down on the seat next to Hermione and averted his eyes. He pulled over some food and started wolfing it down to give himself something to do with his hands, not to mention his blabbering mouth. All the while his eyes were anxiously roving the Great Hall for the tousle-haired black headed boy he called his best friend.

Draco finally made his way over to the Slytherin table, and noted Pansy sitting off on her own. He made his way over there- knowing that it was expected of him- and sat down next to her. Then he pulled over some food, and started loading his plate.

The boy Hermione had been talking to gave some lame excuse and ran off, leaving her with nothing else to do, so she turned to Ron with a safe smile, "Um....hi." she said, trying not to be awkward, "How was your summer?"

Pansy watched as Draco started to eat, "How does it feel to actually be able to give Potter and his friends detention?" she asked, hoping to strike a conversation starter.

Of course, there were many candidates available in all of Hogwarts, but Candy didn't even know who. She knew tons of boys, but this was a whole different story. She looked over to the Slytherin table and saw Pansy Parkinson drooling over Draco Malfoy, and at the Gryffindor table where Hermione Granger was blushing in the presence of Ron Weasley. Giggling girls, that's who they were. Why couldn't Candy find a guy to turn her into a girl like that?

Ryan looked closely at every girl already at breakfast. Too dumb, too rude, out-of-his-league... why did no one seem right? Every girl that seemed like he could have an actual chance with seemed to have a boyfriend, and if she didn't she was drooling over another boy. Some of Ryan's friends showed up, nudging him and asking who he was planning on taking to the dance.

Jason pushed his messy hair away from his face, he wasn't to keen on the uniform but he wore it none the less it had rained most of the ride to school and it looked lke it was going to start again. he made his way over tothe gryffindor table and sat down with his house mates what better time to get to know some one than today.he thought he hd just sat down when there was an annoucement about a dance. he groaned.Hhow was he going to geta dae when he ddnt know anyone yet? jason laughed it off with a shrug. and looked aroud the room wondering just how many girls there where that didnt hve boyfriends or a specific guy the were hoping would ask them.

Candy laughed at something her friend said. If worst came to worst, she could always go with Ryan, her family's friend. He was a Ravenclaw. She walked over to him to see if he already had a date in mind, to hopefully beg him not to ask someone until she had a date.

Candy? No way. Well, yeah, sure, she was beautiful, but it was his mom's best friend's daughter. He had known her since she was a little kid. "Hey Candace," he said as she came over. She spoke to him in hushed tones and he smiled and laughed in a response. With a nod she left, Ryan shaking his head. Ryan noticed a Slytherin girl talking to Pansy Parkinson. She was cute. Of course, he had just made that deal with Candy, but she would find a date. She was a pretty girl, also she was nice. Why didn't he want to go with her again? Oh yeah, family friend thing. Well, he could still look for another date.

Candace looked around the hall after sitting back with her friends. They all giggled at her and taunted her with "oohs" even though they knew Ryan was a family friend.
