So, what do you guys thinks? This book was one of the more serious books so do you think Rupert will still be able to put forward the funny side of Ron as much as he had done in the past four movies?
Has anyone got any pictures or quotes from Rupert about working on the OOTP movie?

From what the Order of the Pheonix trailer has shown, they haven't shown a whole lot of Rupert in it. But from what I saw it seems as if Rupert has a serious side to him in this movie and he definately has the capability of it as we all know since he is such a good actor. I also think that he can show the funny side of Ron also because that is basically how Ron's character acts in OOTP, well at least in the book anyways, so Rupert can definately handle it. One thing that I am really hoping for is that this movie will get the attention that Rupert deserves as an actor.

Yes! I hate that its always Emma and Harry. Hermione is a big character but Ron is BIGGER and lets face it. Without Ron there the books would be rather dull, harry is a plain character. Ron is the humour and Hermione the brains. | |

I agree with you there, Lee. I personally believe that Rupert will keep the spirit of OotP Ron alive. He has the talent, and he will use it to the best of his knowledge and ability. He hasn't failed us yet, and I don't think he will. OotP is a fairly dark and depressing storyline, especially with the death of Sirius, and the only relief from all that is what Ron gives us. I'm really looking forward to the brain scene in the DoM. Rupert will perform that perfectly, giving us the comic relief in the high-tension part of the film. | |

I hope he does play it right but I'm dreading any romance between Ron/Hermione,I'm even dreading the Ron/Lavender snogging scene in HBP....I love Rupert too much to see him snog someone else ,even if it is acting.....but of course he will do it right!! It's Rupert,he is a brilliant actor!! | |

I think Rupert can be serious yet still keep us smiling. Like in Driving Lessons! And yes that brain room scene should be done perfectly.
I think that the R/Hr things will come out more but I think that in HBP movie they will show the most. I just finished reading it for the 2nd time and I noticed the hints sooo much more! | |

I can just imagine Rupert acting it as if its the most grossest thing in the world but hes doing it for the reputation. That or he'll act it out as if Ron is as scared as could be! Either or I think would fit the real Ronald Weasly quite perfectly. | |

You guys are right. I think what will make Rupert "Ron" in OOTP is his great ability of making people take him seriously and can make them smile at the same time. Oh yes Rupert will definately be all that and a bag of galleons in the brain scene and any other scenes with the comic relief in it.

Rupert has some experience under his belt with Driving Lessons playing romantic scenes. I am looking forward to the blushing awkwardness. I think it will be adorable and I know he will play it perfectly. I am really looking forward to seeing him "gobsmacked" by the love potion in HBP, personally, but that's off-topic. I also really want to see him play "Ickle Ronnie Prefect". That's gonna be hilarious!!

Well, in terms of romance, like with the books, the movies have been dropping hints of sparks between Hermione/Rupert, and Rupert's handle all those with enough subtlety so that it's not corny. | |

Personally, I think that Rupert will be absolutely brilliant in the 5th movie! He's a natural born actor. In the 4th movie he really bought out his character and that shows us there that Rupert can be serious and still be funny. | |

The canaries! Oh, I am so looking forward to that in HBP. OotP is going to have a lot more R/Hr hints, I believe, as HBP has a very large focus around the tension between them. In order for HBP to work in that area, OotP is going to need a lot more hints than what has already been shown in the previous films. GoF was excellent in that department, so OotP should be even better! | |

Oh my goodness it is going to be really weird seeing Rupert and Emma having more and more romance in the films. Of course I'm a R/Hr shipper but outside of Harry Potter it's like they are brother and sister so I can't wait to see them as the romance continues to grow. We all know that Rupert can handle it for sure and it's going to be awesome just watching the movie! I wonder how much there is going to be in OOTP. After all we don't really know how much the relationship between them will be showed in this film so I really can't say exactly how Rupert will act. But of course we all know he's going to do awesome on it!

From what I heard in OotP, Hermione attacks Ron with a spell because he makes a mean comment. I'm all for more R/Hr shipping but doesn't this sound too much like the canary attack in HBP? Oh well....Hollywood likes to add stuff in. | |

It's weird though how they'll gladly add stuff in but they leave stuff out. Does that really make any sense? I mean Ruperts shining moment should've been the whole "weasley is our king bit" and they left all that out. which means no fight with harry, the twins, and draco. I think Rupert deserves more screen time | |

When is this movie coming out? Seriously, I want to see Rupert in it already. Even if there isn't going to be any quidditch which royally sucks ... *raises the flag* Long live the king ... Poo on them indeed, I just think that a good screenwriter and a better director could have included that ... they know what they want in the film before it's even done so ... I'm sure it was a matter of choice, just like having Hermione say Ron's lines in PoA ... stupid directors think they own fandom ...
Still I can't wait for the movie, because like I said. Rupert is the best, and I love watching him in these films.
