How to Play:
Ψ This tournament is open to all members with all Role Playing capabilities. Initially any member that wishes to take part in Locked in St. Mungo’s is required to sign up prior to October 18th midnight EST. Each participant must create a character over the age of 17 to enroll; you can sign up as patients, paranormal wizarding investigators, dark wizard hunters, scientists, or anything else you wish to use except for a Hospital employee those are reserved for your challengers.
Ψ Members are allowed to work together in groups. We do ask you to restrict it to a maximum of three members per group.
Ψ Locked in St. Mungo’s competition commences early October 19th and will remain open till October 31st midnight EST. Any changes or extensions to our timeline will be announced here. You’ll have plenty of time to weave through the different floors, don’t fret if you can’t get it all done in one day.
Ψ We understand that members would like to communicate out of character (ooc), if you need to please use this thread for those and all chatter relating to competition instead of main competition threads.
Ψ Everyone must start at the ground floor and work your way up each floor in ascending order. There are a total of seven floors to surpass. Each floor subsequent to Ground Floor is password protected.
St. Mungo’s Floors (floor challengers username by each floor):
- Ground Floor - Artifact Accidents – Ladynerd & demented_death_eater
- First Floor - Creature Induced Injuries - MUSTANG SALLY & Loki
- Second Floor - Magical Bugs - Slytherin Fox
- Third Floor - Potion and Plant Poisoning - Granger1814
- Fourth Floor - Spell Damage – Mamushkaleontti & Sweetaussie
- Fifth Floor - Tearoom and Hospital Shop – Loki & D.A Forever
- The Roof – lemondrop13
Ψ Your challengers (listed above for each floor) are Hospital employees. Both participants & challengers will Role Play throughout the competition. Everything will be in character (IC). The participants’ goal is to: - Find the key (password) that will give you access to the next floor. (You won’t be able to see the next floor without a password). Each floor has a key concealed within it. Challengers will PM you the password once you find the key
- You will be able to gain bonus points (max. 10 points per floor), if you find ‘the energy boosters’ for your character. They are different for each floor; some floors may not have them.
- Investigate & find the cause that disrupted St. Mungo’s and repair it, if possible.
Ψ Participants will encounter a series of obstacles throughout the competition. Your challenger’s characters are not in their normal mental state. They have been affected with Psychosis along with everyone else in St. Mungo’s. The challengers will test your character’s limits, courage, magical powers, daring, powers of deduction, and your ability to cope with danger. These competitions are not for the faint hearted nor entered lightly. If you post your name in the sign-up sheet you should see the competition through to the end.
Ψ Your challengers will give you hints while in character.
Ψ Everyone will be graded based on their own character (including members in groups). All Floors & Threads will remain open till the very end. Don’t fret if your friends or other members moved on, you still have the time to finish up when you can before October 31st midnight EST. If one doesn’t finish by then, we will score on what you have completed so far.
Ψ Participants will be scored per floor on the following:- On Topic - 5pts
- Creativity - 5 pts
- Use of Good Grammar & Spelling 5 pts
- Role Play - 5 pts
- Cannon to the HP world - 5 pts
- Sportsmanship - 5 pts
- Capture the key 10 pts
- Bonus points - 5pts (max two per floor)
- Seizing the cure - 10 pts -- The roof only
- Curing psychosis - 20 pts -- The roof only
- Total per floor (Ground, 1-5): 50 pts
- Total for Roof: 80 pts
- Overall total: 380 pts (Max you can score in this competition)
- Each floor challenger will PM you your score along with the key details once you capture it.
Ψ Members that reach The Roof (final floor) will earn themselves a spot in our Role Play Wall of Fame to recognize the value of their achievements in company with an award. Highest three point scorers will earn extra goodies.

Rules:
Ψ You must RP in every post, no ooc's or chat are allowed in the tournament threads. Please use this thread for any ooc comments/chat. Any post that does not adhere with the Game's Rules or KA Rules will be deleted by your challenger. For further instructions on how to Role Play, please read KA's How To RP v.1.
Ψ Do not create your own thread, challengers prepared and posted all mandatory threads. Follow their guide; new threads will be automatically deleted.
Ψ Do not PM us asking for a certain challenger or when your floor challenger will post. We all have other duties on SS, have real lives, & are located in different timezones. Hence we will get to post as soon as we can.
Ψ You may interact with other members while in character, however, do not spam/ooc/chat in the thread or else you'll be eliminated from the game.
Ψ Do not RP other member’s characters for them nor their consequences. We grade your character, unless you want to lose points keep to your character. You will not like it when someone else RP's your character for you, therefore do not do it for someone else. Period.
Ψ Cheating is prohibited, anyone caught giving out floor passwords (trust me, we’ll know), cheating, beating or bewitching other characters will immediately be eliminated from the competition.
Ψ The challengers decide what/which obstacles your character encounters, do not RP jumping into/onto an invisibility mist, flying carpet or even a genie because they won't get you closer to the key. Use what is given to you at all times.
Ψ We do encourage you to be creative in your posts, its part of your scoring.
Ψ Your allowed to play/post as much as you want, however we will not allow you to play two characters at the same time, its only fair to everyone else participating.
Ψ At the end most members are most likely to reach the roof and resolve the case of psychosis. Hence why you are being scored, use the grading list as your guide for each floor to earn as much points as you can.
Ψ All Knockturn Alley Rules & SS Board Rules apply.
