i hated the end where ginny and harry had to break up- i knew it was coming tho... *SOB* but yea for tonks and lupin!!!!! heck yes!!!!

there was definitely a lot more romance than I expected... Remus/Tonks being the best surprise of all... seems like she could have gotten some of that one from fanfiction, like the "you deserve a whole man" or whatever he said. there's a scene like that in one of my favorite fanfics. I really didn't see it coming, but I'm glad she put that in. I agree, Remus needs and deserves happiness.

Harry/Ginny was adorable but came out of nowhere, seemed to me it was so the last scene would be more dramatic with that added in than him just saying he's leaving.

Ron/Hermione... not my ship, but it was nice to finally have it happen. and the whole deal with Lavender was extremely annoying. Ginny provoked him though, I suppose. Loved the birds part!

Madam Pince/Filch, haha, did that really happen? Madam Maxime and Hagrid, yay! especially after aragog.... and Draco/Pansy, predictable, and i'm probably the only person who thought the train scene was cute.

I liked this book more than the others, I think, because of the huge romantic subplot.

i like the harry and ginny bits, hope they get back together in the end

Though they certainly don't act it, Ron and Hermione are a subtle ship. Somehow, I get the idea that those two don't suspect others realize that they really like each other. Perhaps they belive themselves to be sutble; they are very awkward around each other and careful not to reveal too much. They take things at a much slower rate. They have a more precious relationship. More tender, more caring.

I think Tonks/Remus is cute. They're both kind of "outcasts" are they not? Both very different from the others around them. I wouldn't call it random, we're just not around them enough to see it

What about Bill and Fleur getting married? At the beginning i was as annoyed with her as the weasleys seemed to be. But at the end in the hospital wing i see that she loves Bill no matter what.

I liked the Harry/Ginny relationship. The Ron/Lavender 'relationship' was also quite amusing, although it did leave limited time for the Ron/Hermione relationship to develop.
And when Ron said "I love you Hermione" my heart melted, even if it wasn't quite in the way i wished it would be.

Yeah but knowing JK she'll leave it til the very last moment of Book 7 to get them together. It's been a long wait. Book 7 had better have a happy ending of i will be so traumatized i'll need therapy.

I've just finished, and I've had a burning sensation to discuss this!

Well, it seems that Harry and Ginny did get together in the end. I think the fact that Harry broke up with her in order to protect her was a HUGE sign that they will end up together..like, forever. *socliche* They 'understood eachother completely' and they seem to see eachother on the same level. I think it was perfect.


Ron/Hermione: Okay, we all knew this was coming, just not when, hehe. I was glad to see more of it in this book than OotP, as they were constantly competing for one another's jealousy, and in the end, Ron cradled Hermione after...after..*bursts into tears*

And, now I am convinced that Luna and Neville will get together, as they have a lot in common. I'm not sure whats to come of Draco what with the recent 'events,' but, whatever. I don't really care for him right now. O_O

Tonks and Lupin was a surprise! It was cool that they got together, they seemed right for eachother, although Tonks is younger than Remus.

The romance was a bit screwed up. I mean I always knew Ron and Hermie would end up together, the same as for Harry and Ginny. Except the sad thing about it, everything happened so wrong. What I'm trying to sya is that, It didnt seem worth it. In my mind, when they did get together it would be breath-taking and totally mystical. But it was a bit...too normal. Maybe by reading so many fics, it's crazed me up a bit...

Ok,first off I will say that my least favorite ship is Harry-Ginny...so I was not a happy camper.
Secondly,THERE WAS NO LUNA.Like,at all.And I'm a staunch supporter of Harry/Luna.I only got happiness when he took her to Christmas Party,even if it was "just as friends" as they kept repeating over,and over,and over again.
Third,THERE WAS NO NEVILLE.There was even less Neville than there was Luna,and he and Harry have that whole "prophecy dilemma".And yes,I do ship Neville with someone.Ginny.
Fourth,I seem to be the only one who didn't mind Ron/Lavender,prolly because I wrote a R/Lr fic before.It was cute,and quite effective in getting Hermione jealous.And plus,it was funny!That chain....

They've been best friends so long that I think them getting together will just be that. Them getting together. Maybe something soft and such, but nothing big and spectatcular, like Harry kissing Ginny. That certainly was bold.

LOL I ship Ginny/Nevvy!! LOL I don't like H/G. I yelled at my book. LOL R/Lr though? AGHHH!!! Makes me angry. SOO dang angry. At least it worked out in the end. While it may have hurt Hermione so badly, in the end, he was holding her and storking her hair ^.^

I do wish there had been more Nevvy and Luna though. I'm rather fond of the both now.

I’m so happy about Lupin and Tonks! Lupin fully deserves it, and Tonks is such a sweetie. I hope they will be happy. As for Bill and ‘Phlegm’… Just a little strange. She was weird in this book, I didn’t like her much. It should be interesting to see if they actually make it to the wedding.

Hermione and Ron… That was weird! The never really ‘got together’ until the end… And I thought that when Hermione sent birds to attack him it was just stupid. I wonder if their relationship will last? Well, at least its loads better then Ron and Lavender.

Harry and Ginny… Cute but random! All of the sudden Harry just goes ‘I love her!’ Sure, it happens. You can suddenly fall for someone out of the blue. But could the timing be worse?

All in all, I felt the book may have been a bit too lovey dovey. It was cute and nice, for the most part. But maybe a bit too much.

I don't really think it was random. Actually, when you think about it, its been building up (ever so subtley) throughout the books since CoS. Ginny's always had a bit of a soft spot for Harry, hasn't she? And from the hints in Ootp (when Ron is talking to Ginny about picking her boyfriends better, and casting Harry a look) it was hinted at that Harry and Ginny might get together. Once Harry finally realized that what he felt was jealousy, not 'brotherly protection,' I think thats when they're relationship came into bloom.

Hm. Well, there certainly was more romance than usual, but whats to be expected? They're sixteen. Rowling couldn't have just had them..well, not get in relationships. As they're maturing, so are their feelings, and I thought that (for being teenagers) the romance parts were good.

YAYAYAYAYAYA!
After several years of loyal shipping to the Harry/Ginny ship, after years of debating on these forums, through all my adversaries who said H/G was no more, in the famous words of Hermione Granger 'I hate to say I told you so!'. Sorry, I will try to limit my gloating, we can't all be as modest as Harry.
I was jumping up and down when he said he could smell broomsticks from the Burrow and flowers in the love potion, then in the next scene he smells Ginny's flowery scent. He didn't even relise he was inlove with her, he missed her when she left him on the train. And the prettiest girl in school? I had no idea of that.
How sad was the ending, I'm not one to cry, but I was very emotional. She always loved him, even when she had said she had given up she still always loved him. And the thing to remember is that they both still love each other, they didn't break up because of that, they had no closure. He cares for you too much to see her get hurt, this leaves Harry with three choices: Being with Ginny after Voldemort, being with Ginny regardless of Voldemort or being alone. He loves her, and he isn't going to choose anyone else because he has her in his heart. SIIIIGH, thank you JKR, even if Harry marries Hermione (er... no!) in the next book I don't care, because she made it clear in HBP that Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley were a functioning, caring and loving couple.

personally i was HIGHLY disappointed because ron and hermione did NOT finally get together, when it has to happen and i just find it really disappointing to have to wait another unknown number of years for book seven to finally furfill (sp?) that gap. and i mean, i was shocked with the tonks/lupin and harry/ginny stuff because there really didnt seem to be any hint of it in previous books and yet the most obvious ship of all (r/hr) wasnt hardly in there but for the bickering, which we've seen numerous times in previous books. it was like they really weren't going anywhere when they should be because now all they have is one year left in the series. And since when has harry thought (or even considered?) the possibility of ron and hermione getting together? it was so weird..........i imagined that if he noticed something between then (which he would probably choose to dumbly ignore until it became too apparent for ignoring), he would have gotten angry about it, instead of simply finding it odd. that struck me as weird and out of character for him.
i kept reading further and further, hoping to get something significant for ron and hermione, but there was nothing and then all of a sudden im at the end and dumbledore is dead and snape who he trusted did it and my world has been rocked way out of line, and there was nothing to cheer me up. it had the worst ending of the series to date. i was depending on some ron/hermione to reread to cheer me up when the book was over and the character had died, but, to my dismay, i was terribly unconsoled.
