This is going well. Keep it up.

Conflict is good, so long as it doesn't get out of hand.

I can see where the Lily & james thing comes in because, like James, Ron can be narrow minded and bully or look down on people for the wrong reasons perhaps. Those being Luna and Snape. I dont know why but, I see a parrallel between Snape and Luna alot, but I will not ship them, that's disgusting.

I still feel they mimick Arthur and Molly more.

Oh and you know the whole Snape/Tonks deal. I've researched it and well, hehe I'm kinda leaning toward those two, even if JK wont partner Snape with anyone.

I am disturbed though, I have seen Tonks/Harry Ginny/Snape fics. *shudders*

Snape & Tonks?!!

Yay, conflict between just how right R/Hr is!

You see the moment I saw Hermione and Ron being Lily and James was reading Snapes worst memory. I was shocked to see Snape say 'mudblood' then James step forwards, it was a perfect mirror of the 'eat slugs' fight in Chamber of Secrets. Plus they are all 'pure blood and muggle born', they bicker all the time and so on.
I guess it's more Ron and Hermione are Lily and James in high school and Arthur and Molly when they grow up.

As for Luna, I saw a lot between her and Moaning Myrtel. Both Ravenclaw, both loners, but luna doesn't seem the one to mope and cry in the bathroom...Unlike Snape, she wants friends, she just doesn't want to change who she is.

You cant really demean Snape to Draco's level. Draco has or seems to have had a good childhood and is a bully. Snape didn't bully people, he was morelike Luna, bullied, rather than doing the bullying. He's a sad character, not a mean one. I think he would've said 'mudblood' out of anger, or frustration. 'Cause she leaned toward James and well, I think Snape loved her and sees Harry as the son he should've had. But that's just crazy me.

I'd challenege you on that, being friendless doesn't seem to bother Luna in the slightest. And you're right, she's not the moping type. I think she's more a loner by a mix of choice and situation.

Yeah, that's how I'd put the Ron and Hermione relationship (which seems inevitable).

Lily and James got together in their last year, and I feel Ron and Hermione will too, either in the last or sixth year. Like L/J they argue all the time, but there are real feelings below there. I can also see them like Molly and Arthur when they marry etc.

I don't really think we know enough about Tonks to say who she would be good for, but Snape is an interesting thought.

Ergh I hate things like Tonks/harry

That's a well dodgy ship isn't it Soph? Considering she's near 10 years his senior.

I thought up Snape/Tonks, because I think Tonks stands good stead of being the next DADA. She may be clumsy, but she's obviously very powerful. She's one of the youngest members of the order, one of the youngest aurors and is a metamorphamgi. I also think she would drive Snape up the wall.

I'm not demeaning Snape, I am sure he had valid reasons for being how he is, but who knows if Draco hasn't experienced the same? A loveless and dark childhood. I was mearly saying that the James and Snape relationship was shown as the Ron and Draco relationship in this view.

Yeah, but when someone like Ginny or Harry was nice to Luna she would like it and welcome there friendship. We saw Lily supporting Snape and he told her where to go.

I personally think that Lupin/Tonks would be good!

You're talking to Mrs Snape here, you know I cant accept that even if it does make sense.

We have evidence that Snape suffered as a child, directly from the text. We have no hint of that for Draco whatsoever.

Because she had rejected him and was falling for the bully Potter. She welcomes friendship, that's who she is, but she doesn't strike me as aperson who needs it to live.

I've heard that so many times. I prefer Snape

Interesting thought. Snape seeing Harry as the son he never had. That could make sense you know. He is like a constant reminder to Snape that James 'won' Lily and that's part of the reason he hates him so much. I mean we know Snape hated James, but then when Sirius tried to trick him, James saved his life. There must have been other reasons he hated James...

I also think Snape wasn't a bully. He can now, be mean to Harry, because he has the power. He is the older one and a Professor. He can take out the loathing of James on Harry. He couldn't really do that to James. He always had the upper hand.

Quote:

True. In the sense that Ron wants to protect Hermione, like James did Lily. But then Ron would protect her anyway. As a friend. Though he might not get so angry..

Rejected him? Did i miss the paragraph where Snape confessed his feelings for Lily?
Look, I understand that you like Snape, I bite at people when they insult Lupin as being a 'half-breed' or 'inexperienced'. But the point is that there characters represented each other, different meanings behind actions, but the same motive.

It's the whole ordeal of having been bullied, witnessing someone doing it and knowing how to do it. Maybe it's done to make Harry realise how awful james made Snape feel. Why am I calling him by his last name? Severus I mean.

Quote:
like James did Lily.
Severus wanted to protect her from James. If James can be that nasty to someone who he thinks inferior (snape) then imagine what he could be like to someone he likes. If you want a true ision of someone, see how the treat their inferiors, not their equals.

I truly think Snape loved her.

Rejected is much assumption, but I used the word to show it actually does all fit together neatly. A grown man wont hate for no good reason. Snape is far more intelligent that.

yea, that's 'cause you see H/G in M/A! I dunno - LIly and James? Not really, we don't know that much about them... I have to say i think that harry is too much like james, alot of the characters have said so (Eg. Sirius and Snape)

And if the movies are supposedly 'foreshadowing' stuff for the future, it seems as though Draco was being 'beaten' up by his father. In any case, i see Snape that way, when he was younger!

Lupin is so going to get you back for that, but I agree. Even though she'd does stare into space alot, she would actually listen to him.

We dont, but what we do know is that Snape had a troubled childhood. If Draco had one, he's doing a very good job of covering it up.

Like ginny listened to Harry in the library? She asked him what was wrong, then sat down and stared at him, listening and thinking, taking in each word.

Yeah, but actually. I could see Draco having problems with his father.... real pressure. And then retaliating because of problems with his father by taking it out on others. lol and then suddenly he's really nice and befriends Harry because his father is away in prison. LOL now that would be funny. Don't take that last bit seriously. But then again he could just be a snotty evil kid.

But, my point is, we have rock hard solid evidence of Snape's childhood. There is no rock hard solid evidence to suggest Draco was bullied.

Ahhh yes ... this scene. but wasn't it Ginny who went to harry? I mean it as Harry going to luna on his own accord, If ginny didn't ask, i really doubt that harry would have jsut said anything AT ALL to gin. Whereas to Luna, i think Harry, when seeing her in the halls, would run up to her an ask her this question that was in his ehad for days... Like he would run up to her and go "Luna, can i ask you soemthing?" She would have this daze look but be like, "yea sure" and they talk in some empty classroom, and CRAP now i am a H/L! *Sigh* lol! Yes, but if Luna never brought Sirius up then Harry would have never listened to her. I still say that this has nothing to do with shipping, he simply let her mention Sirius because she had experienced death, it's the same thing he shares with Neville.

unfortunately, it has been done. I don't care whether luna would/would not ahve mensioned sirius or not, sooner or alter, luna or harry would have said soemthing concerning death - and either way harry would go to luna, for advice etc, and in turn would find out who she really is.

he shares it with neville sure, but does neville say anything? Is he emotionally strong anough to talk about it? Are the cuts still raw? It's werid, because i find hat neville has to deal with things worst tcomapred to hsi aprents and harry's deceased ones.

With neville, his parents are alive - but they don't even KNOW him. Not like a son. How much pain does neville have to deal with? he knows his aprents are right there, yet they will never really BE his aprens... But with harry, his aprents are dead... He will never see them again (Well in THIS life time) he is pained by the fact that he doesn't even KNOW his parents, neville and harry share THIS - This can be linked, Neville saw someone stuff it - but was it his parent(s)? No. Whereas LUna lost a mother. Still has a father, (was Sirius in h's case) ... I dunno... let the battle begin!

The so called bullying of Lucius Malfoy was added by jason Isaacs, not JK! He said so himself on the DVD. He said he thought Draco was a brat and so decided to win him so sympathy. That is all.

Crazee, look at it another way, Neville lost his grandfather who had been the male figure for him since his parents went to St Mungos. This means Neville saw him as a father, like Harry saw Sirius. Now, JK didn't make Neville loose someone for no reason, I am sure that if Luna's role as this was so important it would make her the individual to loose someone.
But she didn't, she let Neville loose someone too. Neville is growing up and he is going to need someone, who better then Harry? Just give it time, I know they will connect like him and Luna.
