Chapter 1

I looked over at the love of my life and my heart melted. She had her wavy, brown hair pulled back as she read a book, curled up on the sofa. She must have noticed me staring at her because she looked up from her book and flashed a small, but playful grin in my direction.
“What?” she asked with the grin upon her lips.
“I was just admiring how beautiful you look, Mione.” I said returning the impish smile. She blushed, but kept her eyes fixed on me. “Come with me, I want to show you something.”
I walked toward her and took her hand in my own and lead her to the front door.
“Ron, where are you taking me?” she laughed as I pulled her with me along the path leading away from the Burrow and into the woods.
“You’ll see in a minute,” I replied. “Now close your eyes.” She did as I instructed and grasped my hand tighter.
We walked further into the woods along the path. I could tell Hermione was becoming impatient, but was curious at the same time.
“Ronald Weasley, where in Merlin’s name are you taking me?”
“Alright, alright, open your eyes.” She opened her eyes and gaped in awe, her eyes widening.
“Oh, Ron, its beautiful!”
There was a clearing in the vast mass of trees and in the middle sat a small, white gazebo. It had ivy branches winding up the sides, entwined together.
Silently, I took her hand and lead her into the gazebo. She still had her mouth open as she stood inside.
“This is the place where my dad proposed to my mum. That’s why they built our house so close to here.”
I gazed into her honey, brown eyes and took a deep breath as I knelt on one knee. I took a tiny, ash colored box from my sweater pocket and revealed to her its contents. I took another deep breath and asked, perhaps, the most difficult and most important question of my entire life.
“Hermione Granger, will you marry me?”

Chapter 2

She stared at me, her large, brown eyes full of surprise. I knelt there for several moments and began to think she wouldn’t answer me. Then a small smile started to appear on her lips.
“Yes,” she replied, “Yes, Ron, I will marry you!”
I beamed up at her, took out the ring, and placed it on her left ring finger. It was a simple silver band with a small diamond in the center.
I stood up and held her tightly. I felt like the luckiest man on the face of the earth. Hermione was my whole world and now she was going to be mine alone for the rest of my life. I held her at arms length and gazed, again, into her warm, brown eyes. I saw joy and happiness, which only made me smile wider.
“I love you, Hermione.”
“I love you, too, Ron.”
I pulled her closer and kissed her. Her arms went around my neck and mine went to her waist. The kiss started out gentle, but grew more passionate with each passing second. She ran her fingers through my hair and I pulled her closer to me. I had her where I wanted her forever and always and never wanted to let go. We pulled apart and her playful grin shone in the moonlight.
She put her hand against my cheek and grinned even wider. I absentmindedly began playing with a strand of her hair that had escaped her ponytail. I pulled her close and kissed her again, only this time it was short and sweet. I pulled back and gazed at, in my mind, the most beautiful woman in the world.
“Why don’t we go tell everyone the good news?”
“That sounds like a brilliant idea, Hermione.” I couldn’t help smiling as I took her hand and walked back on the dirt path leading to the Burrow.
