Chapter Fourteen: Meeting the Court Leader Part 1

Harry leaned towards the thestral's ear and said, "Just follow the other thestrals." He didn't know whether the thestral understood him or not but reared and flew into the dark sky after the other thestrals and the people on the brooms. Hermione was holding Harry’s waist so tight he could barely breathe. The thestral flew alongside Tara on her broomstick. She didn’t seem spooked by the thestral like most people he knew were, like Neville. Harry suddenly thought about Hogwarts and what’s happening with the students and the teachers. He suddenly thought about Neville, Luna, Fred, George, and Ginny. He thought about the Muggleborns that will be tortured by Voldemort and his Death Eaters and what will happen to the students and teachers that stick up to him.

After a few hours of flying, the thestrals and the broomsticks headed towards the ground in a forest clearing. Harry looked up at the sky and noticed that the sun was already rising from behind the trees. When they landed, Harry and Hermione got off of their thestral, but Hermione was still holding onto Harry’s arm in fright.
“Hermione,” said Harry, trying to get her off his arm, “You can let go now.”
“Oh, sorry Harry.” said Hermione, letting go of Harry, “It’s just that…you know that I hate flying.”
“Really, Hermione?” asked Ron, sarcastically, “We didn’t notice when you were squeezing the air out of Harry.” Hermione gave Ron and Harry and embarrassing smile and followed Jason, Ben, Leslie, and Tara into the forest. Deeper and deeper into the forest they went and Harry noticed that the sun was rising higher In about a half hour, they finally reached their destination; it was a camp with some tents that were a bit singed but were being repaired by teenagers around 16. While Tara, Ben, Jason, and Leslie led the way through the maze of tents, Harry, Ron, and Hermione looked around the campsite; Harry thought that were may have been some protective spells around the site that took out the sounds coming from the site because people were playing music, talking, and laughing loudly.
“I may need to warn you,” said Tara, “You may need to know your place in front of our Leader. Give her the same respect that you would give to Dumbledore.”
“Is she that terrifying?” asked Harry
“She's actually a lot like me, except my merciful nature and sense of fair play.” The stopped in front of large beige tent and entered it. Inside was a table covered with papers and pamphlets, there was also a camp bed and a desk next to it with photographs on top of it. A woman sat in a chair facing the window, she didn’t notice that she had visitors until Tara said, “We’ve got Leslie back.” The woman got out of her chair and turned to face them, she looked as though she was in her thirties’, she had an attractive appearance about her; she had a kind face, hazel eyes, long black hair that was kept in a ponytail, and she wore a white blouse with a black skirt.
“I see you brought outsiders also.” said the woman, her voice was soft, and though it sounded like a whisper, it could be heard in the whole tent.
“We brought someone else too.” said Ben. He put his hand on Harry’s sleeve and pulled Harry into the front of the group so the woman could see him. The woman, who suddenly looked shocked and stern, said, “Take Leslie to the Infirmary, and take Harry and his friends to Grimauld place. He cannot stay here.”

Meeting the Court Leader Part 2

"Why can't he stay here?" asked Jason, "He and his friends will be okay here."
"I'm not only worried about their safety." said the woman, "I'm worried about the others safety, like Leslie! You know this was the second time she was captured and tortured in the hands of Lord Voldemort, who, by the way, is the most terrifying wizard of all time?”
This happened before?” asked Hermione.
“Yes, two years ago, Leslie was kidnapped by Voldemort’s Death Eaters and was tortured for information. Lucky enough she had help from a friend of ours.” she walked over to Leslie and added, “And by the looks of it, they took Slytherin’s locket.” She put her hand on Leslie’s shoulder and said, “Tara, please take Leslie to the Infirmary. Ben, Jason, I’ll need the both of you to take Harry and his friends to Grimmauld place. If I remember correctly, in Sirius’ will, Harry now owns Grimmauld place so it won’t be much of a problem.”
“Mia, they can’t leave now.” said Ben, “Maybe they could help us.”
“Hold on, how did you know that Sirius left his house to me?” asked Harry.
“I’m the one who wrote it out for Sirius before he got sent to Azkaban. You might know the story, the foolish man went to look for Pettigrew after James and Lily died and got himself carted off to Azkaban for a murder he didn’t commit. You’d think Sirius would’ve done a better job on fighting that little bugger!”
“He wasn’t a foolish man!” said Harry, angrily.
“He was just distraught about what happened to them,” said Hermione, “Harry’s dad was Sirius’ best friend after all.”
Mia scoffed and said, “Distraught was nothing compared to how I was feeling after their deaths. Now go on to Grimmauld place, from what a friend has told us, Hogwarts has already been taken over by Voldemort and his son so Grimmauld place could probably be the safest place left for you now.”
“We can’t leave,” said Harry, “Not without knowing what’s going on here.”
I’ll tell you what’s going on, Harry;” said Mia, “What’s going on here is that we’re all just going to stop what we’re doing now.”
“So that’s it?” asked Jason, angrily, “We’re just going to give up?”
“We don’t have any other choice, Jason.” said Mia.
“The Court and the Order of the Phoenix was about doing something real,” said Ben, “Or were those just words to you, sixteen years ago?” Mia hesitated for a second and said, “Jason, get the potion, Ben get the chains. We’ll need to get these three readied up in order to be members of the Court.” When Jason and Ben left the tent, Mia gestured towards the chairs around the table and said, “Please sit down, I’ll make some tea.” While Mia was busying herself with the kettle, Harry, Ron, and Hermione looked around the tent with interest; inside the tent there were many dark detectors and many vials with multicolored potions inside each vial. Harry looked at the desk that was sitting next to the camp bed at the moving photographs. He got up from his chair and walked over to the desk at the photographs; one of them was a picture of a black haired girl around thirteen with each of her arms around a boy, one of the boys had a handsome face that Harry knew in an instant was Sirius, the other boy had messy black hair and glasses and Harry knew that it was his father. They were wearing their Hogwarts uniforms and were standing in front of the Hogwarts train. There was another picture which Harry recognized was his parent’s wedding and there was one that caught Harry’s eye; Mia was sitting in a rocking chair holding a baby that looked barely a year old and had a tuft of jet black hair. The baby was sound asleep holding a small blue teddy bear on Mia’s lap while she sang it a lullaby. He picked up the photograph and looked at it, Mia looked happier than she was in the present time, she didn’t look so stressed and she didn’t have any wrinkles under her eyes. Harry also noticed that around Mia’s neck was a necklace and on the chain was a green snake.
“Do you want any tea, Harry?” Mia asked so suddenly that Harry jumped in shock and almost dropped the picture. He put it down and sat back down next to Ron and accepted the cup of tea from Mia.
“So rude of me, but I haven’t asked you your names, yet.” Mia said as she sat down across Hermione.
“I’m Hermione Granger, and he’s Ron Weasley.” said Hermione.
“Oh, so you’re both the famous Ron and Hermione we’ve heard so much about.” said Mia, “For the past ten years some members of the Court were keeping an eye out for Harry until he came to Hogwarts and was under more protection. We would have come out of hiding afterwards but I didn’t believe that the world was safe enough yet.”
“What do you mean?” asked Ron, “The world was safe until You-Know-Who came back to power.”
“Yes, and that was the reason, Ron.” said Mia, “I knew that even though he had lost his body and his power, he was still out there. I didn’t want to risk everyone’s lives so we just stayed in hiding; everyone thought that all of us were dead when we weren’t seen again.”
“How come Sirius or Remus never told us about this?” asked Hermione.
“Because they never knew that we were alive this whole time, and they didn’t want to cause any heartaches. In fact, Sirius and Remus didn’t even know of the Court’s existence. Barely anyone in the Order of the phoenix knew about it. Including Lily and James.”
“How did you know my parents?” asked Harry.
“Oh, you haven’t figured it out?” asked Mia, “I guess you didn’t really see any resemblance did you? Well, I knew your parents because James Potter was my brother.”

Meeting the Court Leader Part 3

"You're Harry's aunt?" asked Hermione.
"Yes. My name used to be Mia Tara Potter." said Mia, "But then I got married so my name was changed to Mia Black. Tara and Jason are my birth kids.”
“What do you mean ‘birth kids’?” asked Ron, “Do you have some kids that you adopted?”
“Sort of,” said Mia, “Some of the kids here, including Ben and Leslie, are my foster children. Some of the children members here are orphans and some of our members that are of age can’t take in too many children since they have to support some of their own children.”
“Why didn’t you just give them to another wizard family?” asked Harry, “Or maybe a Muggle family.”
“It was hard to trust anyone during those days.” said Mia, “I didn’t want to risk any of the children’s lives so I decided to temporarily take care of the orphans that weren’t taken in. The only problem was that the kids grew on me after a few months. When all this is over it will be hard for me to find the families for the children.”
“What do you mean?” asked Hermione, “Wouldn’t you still want to take care of them?”
“I would still love to but it’s just that some of those kids belong to some families that are still alive. I need to make sure those families aren’t in Voldemort’s inner circle.” Before she could say anything else, Ben and Jason came back into the tent; Jason was holding a clear flask full of clear blue liquid while Ben was holding three necklaces, each of them had an interesting ornament on the chains.
“Now let’s get this taken care of.” said Mia when Ben put down the necklaces and when Jason put down the flask and left the tent, “I’m going to need the three of you to make a vow. Do you, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, vow to keep our location and our society a secret, even if you are tortured, threatened, and/or blackmailed?”
“Yes.” said Hermione.
“Yes.” said Ron. Mia nodded at the both of them and looked at Harry, who hesitated and said, “Yes.”
“Then you will need to drink this.” said Mia. She opened the flask and offered it to Hermione who took it but didn’t drink it.
“What is this?” she asked.
“This potion is one of my very own creations; I can’t tell you what will happen to you if you drink it because the changes are different from person to person. The only thing that won’t be different about each of you is that you will have the same ability, but I can only tell you after you drink the potion and when you each put on of these.” She picked up the necklaces and showed them to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Hermione hesitated but took a sip of the potion. The expression on her face showed that the potion had a sour taste to it, the same happened with Ron when he took some. When it was Harry’s turn to drink the potion, he looked at Hermione and Ron to see if the looked any different but they looked exactly the same, the only difference was they still had looks of disgust on their faces as they tried to get the taste of the potion out of their mouths. Harry took a swig of the potion and almost gagged; it tasted as if someone had freshly squeezed every sour fruit known to man kind and put it into the flask.
“It may taste sour at first but soon the after taste is a little better.” said Mia as she give Hermione and Ron each a necklace. Hermione’s had a small silver star and Ron’s had a small fang that looked like it came off of a shark. Mia handed the last one to Harry and he looked at it; it had a snake on it, it reminded Harry of the snake on Slytherin’s locket only it wasn’t shaped like an S, it was wrapped up. He put it on and he felt his body heat up like as if he was using Floo Powder.
“How are you three feeling now?” asked Mia.
“I don’t feel any different.” said Hermione.
“Me neither.” said Ron.
“Well, I’m going to need you three to do something:” said Mia, “I’m going to need you three to think happy thoughts.”
“Why?” asked Harry.
“That’s how the potion will work, if you think something happy, then you’ll be able to make it work and you’ll never need to drink it repeatedly. This potion is sort of like a Patronus, just think of something happy, and I guarantee that it will work.” Harry nodded, shut his eyes, and tried to think of something happy, he thought of Hermione and Ron smiling at him, and he thought of Ginny and their first kiss.
“Whoa!” said Ron and Harry opened his eyes to see that he and Hermione were taller than Harry now. He looked down and saw that instead of standing on legs, he was standing on his hands, only instead of hands, they were paws. He looked at his body and saw that he had a furry body and a tail.

Meeting the Court Leader Part 4

"How did he do that?" asked Hermione, amazed.
“This potion is one of my best inventions.” said Mia, “It’s an easier way of making yourself into an Animagus. It took the Marauders three years of trying and they still weren’t able to pull it off until they used my potion. And it worked well for them for years afterwards.”
Harry tried to ask, “How do I change back?” but not only did his appearance changed, his voice changed into barking.
“I’m guessing Harry just asked how he can be human again.” Said Ron and Harry nodded.
“Just do the same thing you did before;” said Mia, “Think of something good.” Harry did and he changed back into human.
“How do you feel?” asked Mia.
“It’s just good to be my usual self again.” answered Harry.
“It takes some getting used to.” said Mia, “I remember my first time; I felt completely small. My form is an eagle.” She added, seeing the looks on Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s faces, “I think it’s time you met with our other members. Would you like a tour would you prefer to go through it solo?”
“A tour would sound great.” said Harry. Hermione shot him a look; he looked back at her, confused. It was fortunate that Mia had her back turned.
“Wait here for a moment, I’ll be right back.” and she left the tent.
“Harry, you’re not think that we should stay here, should you?” asked Hermione.
“Where else can we go?” asked Harry, “Voldemort has already taken over Hogwarts and the entire wizard world and is probably having every member of the Order of the Phoenix and other people against him be trailed.”
“But what about that job Dumbledore gave you?” asked Hermione, “What about the Horcruxes?”
Harry was angry with himself, he had completely forgotten about the Horcruxes during the summer because of all the things that had happened.
“Hermione, we don’t even know where to look for them.” said Ron, “And, who knows? Maybe the people here may be of some help. They might know every single thing about the wizard and Muggle world that even Dumbledore or any other great wizard could know.”
“He does have a point, actually.” said Harry. Hermione opened her mouth to speak when Mia came back again, followed by Tara.
“You guys know Tara; she’ll be your guide. By the way, it’s best that you don’t wander around the woods, especially at night when it can be the most dangerous. There can be many dangers in the woods.”
“Follow me, you three.” said Tara, walking out of the tent with Harry, Ron, and Hermione right behind her.

Chapter Fifteen: The Court Members

"The Secret Society known as the Court has been going on for eighteen years." said Tara, showing Harry, Ron, and Hermione around the area which was full of tents, campfires, and animals, “It was founded by Mia Potter when Lord Voldemort was in power. Now that he’s back, and worse than before, all the members are working as hard as they can to take prisoners and find Voldemort’s weakness in order to destroy him. Let me introduce you to some of our members;” she added, as she, Harry, and Ron, and Hermione went inside a blue tent. When Tara came inside, a boy around sixteen pointed his wand at her.
“Hey! It's me.” said Tara.
“Prove it!” said the boy
“You're an idiot.”
“Okay.” The boy put his wand back inside his pocket and said, “I had to make sure it was you, you know your mother’s been saying stuff about taking extra precaution.” He looked around when he finally noticed that there were more people in the tent; “Hey, I’m Rick Marshall. But if you want you can call me Apenimon.”
“Apenimon?” asked Hermione, confused.
“Oh yeah, in the Court we all have nicknames, kind of like the Marauders only our nicknames are mostly said when we’re fighting Death Eaters so nobody can really know who we are.” said Tara, “My nickname is Batswing, since bats are my favorite animals.”
“What does Apenimon mean?” asked Harry.
“It’s another language for ‘worthy of trust’” said Rick. “But I don’t think you really need to know why that’s my nickname.”
“By the way, these are our new members, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter.”
“I heard you three were here, but I thought it was just a rumor.” said Rick, smiling as he shook Hermione’s hand, “It’s cool to finally meet you three. We’ve only heard of you and your adventures but none of us have actually thought that they would see you in person.”
“Rick, have you used the salt to cover our scent yet?” asked Tara.
“I was on my way to do that until you came in.” said Rick, picking a can of salt of a desk.
“What’s the salt for?” asked Hermione.
“The salt’s supposed to cover our scent and is used for protection.” said Tara, “We have used iodized salt to ward off Inferi, Death Eaters, and sometimes, if necessary, old boyfriends.”
“Does it say anything about new boyfriends?” said Rick before leaving the tent causing Tara to scowl at him.
“Rick has a bit of a crush on me.” she muttered, as she, Harry, Ron, and Hermione left the tent.

The Court Members Part 2

Tara lead Harry, Ron, Hermione around the campsite, showing them the animals the Court keep, introducing members, and telling them stories of the Court, the members’ adventures, and how they secretly watch Voldemort and his Death Eaters and their hide outs.
“Right now, we know that Voldemort II and some of his other Death Eaters are in the Riddle House. We also know that Voldemort and his most dangerous Death Eaters are inside Hogwarts.”
“Do you know how Voldemort and his Death Eaters were able to get passed Hogwart’s security?” asked Ron.
“We think that there was a traitor in your mists.” said Tara, “Someone disguised as a teacher or a student. Or maybe a ghost on their side. It worked well for Voldemort and his men when attacking Privet Drive.”
“You know about that?” asked Harry.
“Yes,” said Tara sadly, “We’ve been stealing the Daily Prophet from bins and it was headline news. I’m very sorry for your losses, Harry.” she added, putting a comforting hand on Harry’s shoulder then leading him, Ron, and Hermione to a large white tent; inside it was an infirmary with some Healers, a few camp beds, and shelves full of medical equipment. Leslie was in a nearby camp bed, awake. She smiled when she looked around at who just came into the tent. A Healer next to her looked up at Tara, Harry, Ron, and Hermione and said in a soft gentle voice, “If you came to visit on Ms. Leslie, please make it quick. She needs her rest.” The Healer got off the stool she was sitting on and left the tent. Harry went over to Leslie and sat down onto the stool the Healer was just on and asked Leslie, “How are you feeling?”
“I’m still feeling a little sore, but I’m fine.” answered Leslie.
“We’re just glad that you’re still alive.” said Tara, holding Leslie’s hand.
“I need to work on getting rid of my ‘Damsel in Distress’ reputation.” said Leslie.
“This happened before?” asked Hermione.
“I’m not exactly as skilled as the other Court members on not getting caught and put into a torture chamber. But I’m afraid that I wasn’t the only prisoner there.” she added, frowning.
“What do you mean?” asked Tara, also frowning.
Whenever the Death Eaters in my room thought that I was asleep, they mentioned another prisoner; a girl. She was in the room next to mine since I would hear her crying in there. I’ve never seen her though.”
“I’ll be sure to tell mother about this, Leslie.” said Tara, “We’ll do as much as we can for that girl.”
“Why didn’t you mention her before when we were getting you out of that house?” asked Ron.
“I went unconscious, remember?” reminded Leslie.
The Healer hurried in and said, “I’m going to need you four to leave right now, please. Leslie needs a lot of rest. And Leslie, before you go to sleep take this;” she took a small bottle out of her apron’s pocket and poured it into an egg sized cup, “It will get rid of the sores while you sleep.”
Leslie drank the potion while Tara, Harry, Ron, and Hermione walked out of the tent.

The Court Members Part 3

That night, when Harry, Ron, and Hermione were having dinner in Mia’s tent with Mia, Tara, Ben, a boy named Klaus Lupin, a girl named Selena Pettigrew, and Jason; a man came into the tent along with Rick.
“I’m sorry,” said the man, “I didn’t realize that you were still having dinner.”
“Its fine,” said Mia, getting out of her seat and going to the man, “Akecheta, I believe you heard of our new members, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger.” The man called Akecheta nodded at Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Akecheta was a tall strong man, about half a foot taller than Mia. He also had short brown hair that reached his ears.
“This is Akecheta,” said Mia, “He’s an old friend of mine and teaches some of the young members here.” She turned to him and Harry heard her say quietly while the others continued to eat, “What is it you need to tell me?”
“We have intruders on the campsite.” Akecheta answered to her, also speaking quietly, “We’ve got them in my tent right now.” Mia turned to the others and said, “I’ll be right back, urgent message.” And she followed Akecheta and Rick out of the tent. Harry looked at Tara and asked, “Is ‘Akecheta’ a nickname for your mother’s friend?”
“Yes, it means Fighter.” She answered “And he mostly likes to be known as Akecheta. He won’t let anyone else know his real name or even say it. Only my mother actually knows his name, but she’ll never tell us.” It was only a few minutes after Tara told them this did Mia come back into the tent.
“Harry, Ron, Hermione,” she said, “Could I see you three for a moment?” Harry, Ron, and Hermione got out of their seats and followed Mia out of the tent and across the campsite until they reached tent at the very end of the campsite.
“We need you three to tell us if you know the intruders in Akecheta’s tent.” she said, leading Harry, Ron, and Hermione into the tent. Inside Akecheta’s tent was a table full of maps, blue prints, and battle plans. There were also two camp beds, a dresser, and five chairs, three of which were occupied. When Harry saw who the intruders were, he felt his jaw drop; it was Ginny, Luna, and Colin Creevey.

The Court Members Part 4

"Ginny, Luna, Colin," said Harry, "What...how did you get here?"
"Oh, so you do know them?" asked Rick.
"Yes, Ginny's my sister." said Ron.
"That's not all we need to know." said Akecheta, "We also need to know if they're trustworthy."
"And what I need to know," said Ginny, getting annoyed, "Is where the hell are we and why are we here?"
"That's exactly what I want to know." said Akecheta, "Why did you come near this campsite. Also, why aren't you at the school trying to fight off Voldemort?"
"We excaped from the school when it was under attack." said Luna, "We've been traveling for a few minutes until we were attacked by Death Eaters but obviously we escaped. We traveled on broomstick for hours until we found the woods. We needed the rest so we've been wandering around the forest all day until we saw light in the woods. We walked towards the light until we came here. Where are we, anyway?" she added, looking at Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
"Before we tell you that we need to know a few things about you." he looked at Ron, Harry, and Hermione and said, "I need to ask you a few questions. Seperatly. I'll start with Hermione first."
After Hermione left the tent with Akecheta, the group in the tent waited for several minutes until Hermione came back and Akecheta poked his head back into the tent. "Ron." Ron left the tent and the group waited again for a while when Ron came back in with a sattisfied grin on his face. "Harry." said Akecheta. Harry left the tent and faced Alecheta.
"Now, I will be asking you a few questions, but I warn you; don't try to lie because I will know when you're lieing a second after you tell it, understand?"
When Harry nodded, Akecheta said, "Good. Here are the questions; Are those three trustworthy?"
"Yes." Harry answered immediately.
"Have they helped you in serious situations?"
"Well, Colin hasn't but Luna and Ginny are very helpful." said Harry.
"And Colin has never helped you?"
"No, I'm sure he would, it's just that I only see Colin around the school but Luna and Ginny are really good friends of mine. But Colin has been trustworthy and a great learner when I used to teach students to defend themselves."
"How long have you been friends with them?"
"I've been friends with Ginny for four years, Luna for two years, and I've known Colin for five years."
"I now only have one more question to ask you." said Akecheta, "I need to know if any of them have been with Voldemort."
"I can honestly say that none of them have done anything with or for Voldemort."
"I'm sorry Harry, but I detect a lie coming from your lips."

Court Members Part 5

"How can I possibly be lying?" asked Harry.
"One of your friends have indeed been with Voldemort." said Akecheta, "Which one was it, whether posessed or not."
"None of them have." said Harry. He suddenly then remembered something; Ginny was posessed by Voldemort after she started Hogwarts five years ago.
"Ah." said Akecheta. "So one of your friends have been with Voldemort."
"How did you-"
"I hope you will forgive me for that, young Potter, but I was just read your mind. My gift can be a bit uncontrollable sometimes."
Harry felt annoyed. He didn't believe Akecheta's excuse about his mind reading gift being uncontrollable, Harry knew that Akecheta read his mind on purpose.
"Well, it wasn't Ginny's fault that she was posessed by Voldemort." said Harry.
"I know." said Akecheta, "But I still need to run some tests on her to see if she's trustworthy enough to be part of the Court."
"But what if she doesn't want to be part of it?" asked Harry.
"I'm afraid that she has no choice now that she has seen our location. Either she joins us, or she'll be kept in our jail."
Harry thought that this was a little unfair for Ginny, he hoped that she will join the Court otherwise she'll be stuck in a tent surrounded by heavily guarded wizards.

I know that was short, but I've been really busy lately. I'll try to post again as soon as I have enough time
