I had left Hermione in anger; I was acting like a jealous git and it was going to take a toll on our relationship. I wanted to go up and talk to her, but since I had deserted her, she hadn’t been able to give me her password. I wondered if Harry knew it. Just as I was pondering the thought, he and Ginny came clambering in the portrait hole, hands linked. I eyed their hands and pushed that thought aside. “Hey Harry,” I began, “Do you know the password to Hermione’s common room?” I asked nicely.

He stared at me, probably amazed that I was suddenly so calm. “Erm, yeah,” he said reluctantly. “Why?”

“Well,” I said. “I have been a pretty big git and I want to go apologize.”

He grinned at me. “It’s Grindylow,” he said simply. I thanked him and ran out of the portrait hole, and sprinted a floor until I reached the picture of the disgusting hag. I knew where the common room was since two of my brothers had been Head Boy.

“Grindylow,” I said lowly. I walked in to see Malfoy and Hermione sitting together and laughing on the couch. I internally got angry, and externally tried to control that anger.

“Ron!” Hermione said, obviously surprised to see me. “What are you doing here?” she asked.

“I, er, came to talk to you,” I said, trying and failing to sound calm. Her eyebrows furrowed. I looked over at Malfoy who looked positively angry.

“Why would you come to do that Ron?” he asked coldly.

“Maybe because that girl you’re sitting next to is my girlfriend,” I said just as icily.

“A girlfriend who deserves better than they way you have been treating her. You have practically ruined her first night back,” Malfoy spat at me.

I felt my eyes narrow and my fists clench, “Sod off, Malfoy,” I said angrily, “This doesn’t concern you.”

“No, but it concerns a good friend of mine,” he said coolly.

“Friend!” I scoffed. “Friend? I think not….” I said, turning around to leave. Just before I exited I said, “Have fun with Malfoy, Hermione!” As I left, the old hag cackled at me. “You sod off, too,” I said in spite.

Anger seethed in my very blood; Ron was so rude to Hermione. I turned to her. “Why are you wasting your time with that inconsiderate git?!” I spat.

Hermione’s eyes were filled with tears. “I honestly don’t know anymore,” she said sadly. “We can’t even carry on a discussion. He can’t even apologize correctly to me….” She trailed off as a few tears escaped her eyes. I lifted her chin up to face me.

“Hermione, I’m not saying this because I don’t like Ron, because I really do owe him and his family a lot,” I started, “But you deserve better than the way he is treating you.”

She looked at me and I knew she could tell I was right. She would never admit it though. She cared too much for him; she probably felt as stuck as I did with the situation about my family. “I can’t leave him, Draco,” she said hopelessly. “I don’t want to leave him.”

I stared at her for quite some time before I responded. When I responded, it was very carefully. “I’m not saying you should leave him,” I began. “I’m just saying that you should be conscious of the fact that you deserve far better. If he doesn’t shape up, you will eventually have to leave him. He lets his anger get the best of him; I’m known to do the same thing, alright, I admit it. But I wouldn’t take it out on someone I’m supposed to ‘love and care for.’ Why do you think I always took it out on you, Harry, and Ron all these years?” I stared at her, hoping she’d see my point.

She gazed back and I sat wondering what was going through her mind. She sighed and said, “I’m going to bed. I am going to write Mum and Dad and tell them how my first day went.” I nodded, understanding that she wanted to be alone. She bid me a goodnight and began walking up the spiral stairs.

“Hermione?” I called after her as she was leaving.

“Yes?” she asked, sticking her head back out to look at me.

“If you need me, you know where I’ll be,” I said, knowing she wouldn’t come to me that night.

“Alright,” she said, “Goodnight.”

I sat there for some time wondering why she was still bothering with him. I wondered if she really was writing her parents, or if she was upstairs simply crying into her goose feather pillows. Ron Weasley had succeeded in ruining his girlfriend’s first night back at Hogwarts, and I was upset about it. He should have been happy for her; she had been made Head Girl! He was acting absurd, and I was going to have to tell him what I thought about it the following day. I made up my mind on the subject and extinguished the fire with a flick of my wand. I made my way up the spiral staircase and fell on to my comfortable king sized bed. I stared at the Slytherin colors and wondered if I was really meant to be a Slytherin for the first time in my life.

Ron needs to lighten up!! Draco *puts her had to his head to see if he as a fever* Are you feeling ok?

but i dont see why
someone cant just write im
accepting draco and mabey
for once harry is the mean idiot
he deserves it just once

Haha, don't worry. Things will turn around..maybe.
Ron overreacts much more than Harry. That's why he gets made out this way a lot.
He has an awful temper; no matter how much you love him,
you can't deny that.

<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 Normal POV <3<3<3<3<3<3<3

The next day, Hermione woke up and had temporarily forgotten last night’s events. Then, all at once, it all came rushing back to her and she was angry and disappointed all over again. She thought about it, and she really couldn’t see much hope for her and Ron. She didn’t want to be the one to leave him, but she was pretty sure he was going to leave her pretty soon.

She sighed and got out of bed. She had classes, after all. She magically fixed her hair and grabbed some robes, throwing them on half-heartedly. She pinned her Head Girl badge to her chest and sighed, leaving her beautiful bedroom, her only sanctuary, behind her.

She walked down into the common room and saw Draco lounging on the couch. “Why haven’t you gone down to breakfast?” she asked him.

“I wanted to see how you were,” he said truthfully.

“Oh,” she said, awkwardly taken aback by his kindness. “I’m alright, I guess.” Even though she and Draco had become friends, she sometimes still was surprised that it was so; his kindness towards her was welcome, but sometimes awkwardly so.

He looked at her, searching, as though trying to figure her out. “You honestly don’t have to lie with me.”

She looked back at him. “I know,” she sighed. “It’s just all too complicated. I don’t even know how to string a sentence together about the whole situation.”

He looked at her for a few moments and then sighed, standing up. “Some breakfast will do you some good. Let’s go.” The two walked out through the portrait hole, Draco allowing Hermione to go first. They checked the corridor and saw that it was abandoned. They were still allowed to be friends. However, they walked in silence, Draco occasionally staring over at Hermione.

She looked over at him and faintly smiled. “I’ll be fine; I’m sure it’ll all blow over.”

Draco, however, wasn’t so sure. They reached the Great Hall and automatically took attitudes of detesting each other. Hermione set off for the Gryffindor table, Draco for the Slytherin.

Hermione sat down and looked at Ron who she was sitting next to. “Good morning,” she said quietly.

He looked back at her, “Good morning, Hermione,” he said. He sounded almost sad and sorry, but not quite. Harry was looking at them apprehensively from where he sat with Ginny. “Look,” Ron said quietly so that no one could hear, “I really am sorry. I just act so jealous sometimes….” He cut himself off and looked down at his feet. He was ashamed.

“Ron,” Hermione began softly. “I want things to be okay with us.”

“So do I, Hermione.”

“The way you’re acting, it really doesn’t seem like it,” Hermione said honestly.

He sighed, “I know. I want to make it better. I want to be better.”

She looked at him and smiled. “Prove it then,” she said teasingly.





Hey, sorry it was such a short post, but I'm about to leave. I'll post more tonight, PROMISE B'bye guys.

awww Ron's asamed for what he did. Hope they can work it out. Can't wait for more.

I'm trying to post more, but my cousin won't get off my computer & I do my posts on Word first & my mom's computer doesn't have Word. I'm ticked.

Ron and Hermione spent the day together laughing in the corridors and holding hands during classes. Draco saw them together between a few classes and was mildly relieved that Hermione didn't look miserable. He walked up to her when he finally caught her alone, leaving what looked to be Arithmancy.

"Are you feeling better?" he muttered, trying to keep his facial expressions angry for the people around them.

"Yeah," she said coldly to disguise the fact that they were friends. He understood and nodded.

"Good, Granger," he said audibly. She nodded at him and walked away. Pretending they weren't friends had proved to be easier than she had previously thought, especially since they had the common room to be friends in. She kept walking and then bumped into someone; someone that was oddly tall and lanky. He had red hair and freckles. It was Ron.

"Oh, sorry," Hermione said, smiling up at him. She was startled to find him looking oddly angry. She couldn't think of a reason for him to be angry this time. Unless....

"I saw you over there talking to him, Hermione," Ron said in a hurt voice.

"Ron," Hermione said, ready to explain. "He just wanted to see if I was okay."

Ron looked like he was struggling on whether he should drop it or not. His face kept changing expressions and slowly, he nodded. He was going to drop it. "Sorry," he muttered.

Hermione said it was okay, but while they were walking to class, she couldn't help but wonder why he couldn't just trust her. She was fed up with being treated like some sort of liar or cheater. She had been a hundred percent faithful to Ron. She didn't know why he couldn't just trust her.

Later that night in the Heads' common room, Draco and Hermione sat together, talking about the day's events. Draco had been stunned that Hermione had forgiven Ron that quickly.

"I love him, Draco; you just don't understand," Hermione said smiling dreamily.

Draco scoffed. "He doesn't really treat you right."

Hermione had been wondering whether or not to tell Draco that he had accused her again. She had decided she wouldn't, but now she was teetering on the edge of telling him. Finally, she made up her mind. "You haven't even heard the best part," she said in a tone that plainly revealed that she had been wanting to tell him this. Draco raised his eyebrows curiously, motioning for her to continue on. "Today, after we were talking in the halls, he came up to me and got mad that I had been talking to you. I told him that nothing was going on and he apparently decided to drop it...." She trailed off, waiting for Draco's reaction.

He looked at her and blinked. He couldn't believe the rubbish that Ron put Hermione through. "He's childish," Draco said truthfully.

"No he's not!" Hermione said defensively though she knew what he had said rang true. "He just cares about me, that's all!"

"Obsessed with you is more like it," Draco said quietly.

"He's no obsessed!" Hermione said, knowing that he really did act as though he was.

"Right," Draco said sarcastically. "Well, I'm going to bed." He stood up, bid Hermione a good night and went up the stairs, leaving Hermione in the common room with only her thoughts. She didn't know what she was going to do about Ron. She couldn't go on being treated like a bad girlfriend when she worked so hard to be a good one. She couldn't possibly accept being treated like a liar, when all she did was tell the truth.

She was tired of being treated like something she wasn't.

Poor Hermione!!! She is torn.
