Heart Like a Wall….Chapter One…

Disclaimer: I unfortunately do not have a fairy godmother (and I cannot spell) so therefore no matter how much I wish I do not own Harry Potter (which means no Draco...that is the saddest part {this is from moi, Caity.}) it all belongs to J.K. She boarded the train to Hogwarts after seeing her parents off and was glad that she found a compartment to herself. Being stuck with the “Dream Team” after her summer was not high on her priority list at all, well that’s if it’s actually there.



Yet as usual her luck ran out almost as soon as she got it, and as usual, the unexpected should always be expected and as predicted, none other than Draco Malfoy appeared in her cabin. Followed as usual by his cronies and mistress or puppy dog that’s an ugly pug. I think she also goes by the name Parkinson. Malfoy sneered at her and then said “Weasley, what did I ever do to deserve scum like you in my cabin?”



Ginny wasn’t in the mood for it so she spat back at him “Your pitiful existence, which I believe you call a life, is more than enough to torture the whole world, and your name isn’t anywhere here.” She then smiled innocently turning to look out the window. Crabbe, Goyle and Parkinson stared intently at Malfoy expected some form of retort resulting in the youngest Weasley in tears. Yet he stood there, shocked, when had she grown a backbone?



“Well, it just so happens Weasley your name isn’t here either and given you’re a bit outnumbered I think it would be wiser just to leave” Ginny smiled at this comment as it was just what she expected.



“And that would be where you are wrong Malfoy, my name happens to be just here.” She then pointed to an engraving on the window that said Ginny Weasley. “Therefore I do actually, well technically, own this cabin, thus meaning you have to leave.” This caused all four Slytherins to stare. She, a Weasley, had defaced Hogwarts property. Ginny smiled to herself as she danced, in her head of course, to her victory at beating a Malfoy. Just as the foursome were leaving the Dream Team that Ginny was oh so happy with at the moment decided to show up, and seeing Malfoy of course assumed the worst.



“What did you do to her Malfoy?” Ron shouted, red faced, while pointing his was menacingly at Malfoy.



“Whatever do you mean, Weasley?” Draco sneered, further angering Ron. “I didn’t do anything to Ginger… yet.”



“You slimy git, don’t you dare touch her. If you go anywhere near her I’ll… I’ll…”



“Lost for words? Can’t think of anything worthy enough to reach my ears?”



“Just stay away from her, Malfoy. You touch her and you can guarantee you won’t ever get to be the perfect little Death Eater like your mummy and daddy wanted. I’m sure you’d make a nice Inferi. You could be useful yet.”



“Like you have the guts, Weasel. Why don’t you go back and clean the toilets with rest of your family?” He had really taken it too far this time.



“You take that back!” Harry stepped forward defensively and pushed his wand to Malfoy’s throat. “Don’t you dare talk about the Weasley’s like that. They are all better people than you will ever be!” Harry snarled into Draco’s ear.



“I wouldn’t try anything, Pot-Head. We can’t have the golden boy getting expelled.” Ron stepped forward and punched Malfoy in the face with a rather sickening crunch. Ron wiped his hand on his robe as if it were nothing, but in reality his fist was throbbing. Pansy, Crabbe and Goyle just stood there looking like demented goldfish, Ron punched Malfoy one more time, and sprinted away, Harry and Hermione in tow, as Malfoy fainted from blood loss.

The trio ran to the front of the train to grab Harry’s invisibility cloak, which they had left with Luna and Neville, so they could sneak past Malfoy and into Ginny’s carriage.



Ginny was just getting ready to return to her cabin in peace when she saw Malfoy faint. She noticed that all his cronies had left him once he had fainted. She dragged him, as she couldn’t carry him, to her cabin and let him lie on the ground. She picked up her wand from her seat and pointed it at Malfoy as she muttered “Ennervate.” She hoped it worked and let a sigh of relief escape as he opened his eyes and blinked a little. He groaned as he tried to sit up, he placed a hand to his nose and was met with a warm stream of blood covering his fingers and hand.



Ginny had shut the door when she had got Malfoy into the cabin and looked up in surprise when she heard it open. She knew it was the Dream Team when she saw no one there. The only thing indicating someone was there was the “Ginny, what are you doing?” that came out of Ron’s shocked mouth. She looked at them now that they had taken off the cloak and seen that Hermione had taken care of Ron’s injuries.



“Well, you left him on the ground and he fainted, even I have better manners than to leave someone there in that state,” she said, shaking her head and muttering something about her brother being a pig-headed git. She was racking her brain to find a spell to fix his nose, when she heard Malfoy mutter something, though she didn’t catch what he said she noticed his nose had stopped bleeding. Ginny also heard him mutter something else but was side-tracked by Ron’s voice again. “He deserved it, he said he was going to do something to you,” he spluttered out, still shocked by what his little sister was doing. Harry and Hermione where standing behind him ready to intervene if necessary.



“And you believed him?” she asked incredulously, “It’s your own fault so can you please leave, now!” She shouted the last word frustration taking over, when they did not move she shouted again, “Now!”

Once they had gone, she locked the door. “Are you okay?” she asked Malfoy.



“I’m fine Weaslette.” She knew better than to expect a thank you, but it still hurt a little that she had defended him and he couldn’t even say thank-you. He left without another word and she changed into her robes as they were nearing Hogwarts about two hours later.



She hopped into a carriage by herself as was quickly escorted to the castle by the unseen thestrals. She sat next to Blake O’Conner at dinner, he was a sixth year Gryffindor, like her, and she refused to speak to the Dream Team all through dinner. Ignoring Ron’s glares she continued to harmlessly flirt with Blake, he flirted back. Once she was finished, she excused herself. There was plenty of time to flirt later. For now, she needed sleep.



She raced upstairs and changed into her PJ’s; at the moment, it was one of Ron’s over-sized old tees. Her roommates, Serena and Vivian, came up soon after her; they had been friends since first year, after all.



“Who was that you were shamelessly flirting with?” asked Vivian with a wink. When Ginny didn’t answer Vivian seemed slightly downcast; she liked to keep up to date with all the latest gossip.



“Hey Gin, what’s up?” asked Serena, acting all the concerned friend that she never was, and sitting on her bed on the opposite side of Ginny, furthest from the bathroom. Vivian on her other side was already checking her reflection in the mirror to make sure her red-hair was still perfect, and that she hadn’t smudged her foundation, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick and whatever else was piled on her face.



“I’m fine, just tired,” and with that she shut her curtains and attempted to sleep. Yet, her attempts were futile until well past three when sheer exhaustion finally let her sleep, her sleep was dreamless and comforting.

Ginny awoke to darkness and the sound of chirping birds, other than that it was dead silent. She groaned and rolled over to look at the clock but there was a paper crane in her way. Cautiously, she picked up the paper crane, slipped out of her warm, comfortable bed, found her slippers and tiptoed into the common room to read the note.



Dear Ginny,

I am sorry about the way Ron and Harry acted. While I write this note, the boys are rehearsing their apologies for you -



Probably forced them to apologize. Stupid gits.



- Please don’t be too angry with them. Malfoy was badmouthing you and your family -



Have they not learned that I can defend myself?


- They were only defending you.

Love, Hermione.



Ginny laughed and scrunched the note up into a ball. Ginny wanted nothing more than to have a legitimate excuse to be angry with Harry and Ron but Hermione wants her to throw it away, pretend nothing happened? She threw the ball into the fire and tiptoed back to her dorm, deciding she needed sleep before she yelled at Ron.





Poke!



“Go away!”



Poke!



“I said Go. Away.”



Drip. Drip. Drip.


“That feels nice.”



Drip. Drip. Drip. SPLASH!


“Argh! Serena you are so dead!” Ginny, dripping and wet, jumped out of bed and sprinted after the culprit - forgetting that she was in one of Ron’s old shirts that came to about mid-thigh - that had awoken her from her ever so pleasant slumber. She thundered down the stairs, nearly falling down the last few and sprinted after Serena, Vivian followed, laughing the whole time. Ginny followed Serena through the portrait hole and through the castle until they ended up in the entrance hall. “You stupid little -”



“Girls! What is the meaning of this?” screeched Professor McGonagall. The girls came to a halt.



Serena came up with a lie without fault, “We were just having a little harmless fun, Professor.” McGonagall mumble something hat sounded incredibly like, ‘Harmless fun, indeed.’ She then walked away, mumbling about mischievous girls, the Marauders, and Peeves.



“You’re dead now!” cried Ginny triumphantly. The Serena and Vivian cast each other nervous glances before turning to look at Ginny who had silently cast her Bat-Bogey hex on them and sprinted back towards the Gryffindor common room, laughing maniacally the whole way. Let’s just say, the girls won’t wake Ginny Weasley up by throwing water on her anymore.



Soon after Ginny had changed her clothes, a rather disheveled looking Vivian stumbled into the dorm. “Where’s Serena?”



“Hospital wing.” Ginny laughed and walked out the open door, down the stairs and into the common room. Ron leapt up from the couch and walked over to Ginny.



“Can we talk?”



“Sure, Ronald. I’m sure there’s something we’d all love to hear you say.”



“I’m sorry, Ginny.”



“What for?” she asked heatedly.



“Hitting Malfoy.” He mumbled.



“Sorry, Ronald. That wasn’t what I wanted you to apologise for.”



A crowd had gathered to watch the fight.


“Well what the bloody hell do you want me to say?”



“I don’t know Ronald. Maybe, sorry for hitting Malfoy without reason –“ Ron started talking but Ginny just talked over him, “- I’m capable of looking after myself and you know it, Ron. Stop protecting me, I don’t need the help. I can deal with Malfoy on my own, I’m a big girl now, stop acting like I’m five years old!” Ron, again, started talking but Ginny cut him off. “Sorry Ron, I didn’t realise that all women need big, strong men to look after them. Big brothers aren’t supposed to ruin their little sisters’ lives. Don’t you think I can handle Malfoy? Growing up with six brothers, I’m sure I can manage one immature little Weasel.” Ron almost smiled at this so Ginny slapped him across the face, raced upstairs to grab her book bag, and after pausing for a second to think, she grabbed Vivian and Serena, and flounced off to breakfast. Ron just stood there, stunned, for a full five minutes until Harry came over and put a hand on Ron’s shoulder.



“I think she likes me, mate.” Harry snickered and then left to go to breakfast, leaving a very confused Ron all alone in the common room.

Potions went by in a blur for Ginny, she was only vaguely aware that she got a detention for telling professor Snape that the worlds most feared creature was his nose.



She had spent the time pondering ways to get revenge on Ron. Nothing came to mind and by the end of the class she had earned a detention for insulting a professor, detention for giving a fellow student boils, detention for inability to pay attention in class, detention for disrupting class work, detention for being incapable to hand in her completed potion, and a weeks detentions for spilling her half-finished potion on Professor Snape. Twelve detentions, one teacher, one lesson. That had to be some kind of lesson, Ginny thought while Snape was lecturing her, causing her to laugh.



“You think it’s funny, do you? Another week of detention.” Okay, make that 19 detentions, definitely a record. Take that Fred and George! The bell rang and the entire class left in a hurry to get to Charms. Oh fun, a class taught by a midget with a rather disturbing moustache.





“Swish and flick, the same technique as Wingardium Leviosa…” blah, blah, blah. Ginny tuned out, they had learned the ‘Swish and Flick’ thing in first year, and it really was becoming rather boring. After the first time the fun wore off. Ginny was bored and restless so she decided to see how many things she could levitate into Flitwick’s moustache without him noticing. After the twenty-seventh item Flitwick screeched at her, “Ginerva, you are disrupting my class. Please leave now and come back for detention tonight.”



Ginny smiled and said, “Sorry professor, Snape loves me so much that he gave me detention for the next nineteen days.” She blew the mortified midget a kiss and flounced out of the classroom, leaving behind a very confused class full of restless students.





The afternoon passed uneventfully. Ginny had an unusually short day, Double Potions, Double Charms (that she missed more than half of), and Double Herbology. After a rather confusing day that had earned her twenty detentions, Ginny decided to sit by the lake and the one and only, Blake interrupted her thinking.



“Hey,” Ginny looked up for a moment and smiled, then turned her head to continue looking out at the rippling water on the lake. Blake sat down next to he and turned to her as if he had something to say. They sat there in silence until Ginny said, “Full moon tonight, eh?” Ginny had been going over her star charts for Divination earlier.



Blake looked up to see that, even in the daylight, the moon was indeed full. “I uh, leave now.”

Blake got up in a hurry and sped towards the castle. Ginny thought it was odd that he was in such a rush to get back to the castle.



Ginny suddenly felt lonely and retreated back to the castle so she could get ready for dinner, tripping Vivian, accidentally, down the stairs on the way, earning them another trip to the Hospital Wing and Ginny another detention for ‘using obscenities in the corridors’.









A/N: I know, odd place to end the chapter but I am more focused on MY story, rather than this one. I wonder how Caity will pick up the next chapter.



Anyone want to make us a banner? Even if Caity wants to make one, I won’t let her. Alternatively, any suggestions for people at TDA that make good banners?



I don’t know what Caity thinks Blake looks like, I imagine him as Bobby Morley. Just ask her what she thinks; she will probably come up with a full description as detailed as how many EYELASHES he has! I probably could, but I have a LIFE! (actually i CAN'T tell you how many eyelashes he has and I have absoulutley no idea what he looks like.) Meaning better things to do than counting Bobby Morley’s eyelashes… but I could sit and count Brandon Flowers’ {thanks to Molly Raesly {on HPFF} for telling me about him.} eyelashes if it meant I got to see him in person.

and for future references Blaise Zabini is in this as a male and Draco's best friend and for those of you you actually care (not many probably) i imagine him as Finn from Gilmore Girl's (personality-wise aswell sort of) - From Caity

Why is Ginny so friendly with Blake?
She likes him!!! OOOOO!!! Um.. cause he is really nice to her and seems to understand her pretty well..... I really dont know, cause he is just a cool dude! thats why!

Cause they could get on anyones nerves and Ron needs to take a chill pill!!

Ginny will fall for Draco when he has no friends and ron is bein mean to him... but then he leaves her for a certain girl who happens to have the name "Abby"!! So in the end she ends up with Blake!! Yup thats wuts gonna happen!

If anyones wondering about the next update, a Caity said, it will be by the sixth of June and I am hoping to have my chapter up no later than a week after that. If all goes well then you can look forward to two brand new chapters pretty soon.

Ginny arrived at the dungeons at quarter past seven for her detention, which would be one of many, deliberately being late to spite Snape. She entered the classroom and expected to find Professor Snape behind the teacher’s desk. Yet when she looked she saw the unmistakable mop of white-blond hair that could only belong to a Malfoy. “Ferret” she said in greeting dropping her bag onto a nearby table sitting behind it. He glanced up at her a look of disgust plastered on his face. “So this is the little Weasel I must babysit for the next 19 days” She looked back at him an innocent smile gracing her face, to anyone that really knew her they could tell that she really wasn’t all that innocent just a really good actor. “Well...” she started pretending to think, “you could leave and I could pretend to sit the detention” the innocent smile back on her face as she finished. “Well…..I could but……it’s more fun this way” he replied the smirk gracing his face as he looked at Ginny a mysterious glint in his eye.

She rolled her eyes at him and pulled out the latest book she was reading. Over the top of it she saw the look of horror on Malfoy’s face, before continuing.

I took a seat behind the desk as she pulled out her book. She was fascinating; she didn’t bite like the elder Weasel and seemed more mischievous. I too took out a book but didn’t read instead I was thinking of something to make her do.

“Hey Weaselette who said you were allowed to read?” I said to her
“Well…..no one” she replied her eyes never leaving the page she was currently reading.
“Then what are you doing, last time I checked this was detention” I stated back to her fast losing my patience at having to give up my free time to look after the youngest weasel.
“I’m reading” she replied again.

Her comment made my patience snap and I quickly found something for her to do, “Well stop, seeing as this is detention and you are needed to clean the empty vials and re-order the non empty ones in alphabetical order.”

Her groan was heard throughout the room as she placed her book on the desk and grudgingly grabbed a cloth and bucket to start cleaning. Malfoy sunk back into the chair, looking at the time to figure out when he would be free to enjoy what meager time would remain of the evening.
The hour of detention went by painfully slow for both Ginny and Draco and when finally it was up sighs of relief passed through both the teens’ mouths, as they exited the classroom and headed back to their respective common rooms.

When Ginny entered the common room she was immediately attacked by Ron making sure she was okay. She groaned in annoyance and pushed past him up to the girl’s dormitory to start on her essay for Charms and Transfiguration homework.

Draco entered the Slytherin Common room and immediately had Pansy hanging all over him. He inwardly cringed at her attempt to seduce him. He pushed her off and headed upstairs he needed to talk to Blaise. None of the Weasel’s had ever made him lose his temper as fast as she had. He didn’t know what it was about her but it made him want to rip her head off and chase after her at the same time as wanting to snog her senseless.

What am I thinking……grr I’m going insane……she’s a Weasley for god’s sake….I’M GOING INSANE!!

He groaned aloud as he entered the dorm. He went to sit on his bed but instead sat on Blaise. He immediately got up.
“What the hell Blaise?” Draco said glaring at his best mate.
“Nothing” Blaise replied and evil glint in his eye.
“Zabini, I think you forget I am Head Boy” retorted Draco pushing Blaise off his bed once catching the evil glint hinting in his eye.
Blaise looked up at him in shock, after all, his best mate had pushed him of the bed and used his Head Boy power for what they were given to him for.
“ARRRRGGHHH” he screamed “Who are you and what happened to Draco Malfoy”

Draco just smirked at this as he muttered a spell non-verbally causing Blaise to end up in the air. The next thing that filled the air was a string of curses and Blaise crashing to the ground. He picked himself up and chased Draco out of the dormitory.

They were lucky not to fun into anyone as they chased each other through the halls of Hogwarts randomly firing spells back and forth.

Within 10 minutes they were both battered and bruised with Blaise’s face covered in boils and Draco wearing a long Indian style skirt with matching top and the proper make-up.

They carefully avoided Snape by rushing into a secret passageway. Their war ceased for the small amount of time they were in there, but as soon as they were out it continued.

They tried to carefully avoid other students as they battled but it didn’t work. A group of first years were hit with the Jelly-Leg curse, and a Hufflepuff 4th year and his girlfriend got hit with a spell that made the vomit at the site of one another(Blaise carefully avoided this one).

As they battled all trough Hogwarts it seemed they had gathered quite a crowd. Blaise was too busy looking at the crowd gathering to noticed Draco’s wand move slightly and his mouth move even more slightly, but he did notice the flash of red light.

He tried to dive out of the way but was a fraction of a second to late, yet he only took a little bit of the impact so the spell that was meant to Stun him only knocked him back a little bit.

He was quickly on his feet and again chasing Draco through the halls they passed the Fat Lady and saw a couple of Gryffindors had come to see the commotion.

Next thing he felt was Blaise crashing into him and knocking him down the stairs. The last thing he saw was Blaise’s shocked face. And with that everything went black.

A/N: and that is Chapter 3, hope you all liked, this was written by CAITY!!!!!!!!!............*gasp* whats gonna happen to Draco???? ………..if you want him to live you may just have to BEG Sally to let him….and note to all the next chappie shallt be up after Sal returns from Camp so it shallt be up by not later than the 20th
