I always thought I was in love with Ronald. Not that I would ever admit it. Since our first year that we were close, but we were always fighting. Sometimes, I thought there wasn’t a subject we could agree.
Harry always was a very special friend. Deep down, I think everybody knew Harry and Ginny were made for each other. Even Dean.

But me…
I always known the gossip about me, of course; a girl that loved books so much she never dated any guy. However, I had been chosen by Viktor Krum to be his date for the Ball. People said that was weird.
I hear all of this but I like to pretend I don’t. I never cared about what people thought about me.
Until the day I started to care.

Thanks you all. I know it wasn't much, so... here is the first chapter.

Draco Malfoy was in the owlery when I went there to send a letter to my parents. For my surprise, he was crying. Draco Malfoy… crying. I got intrigued. I sent my letter but I felt I couldn’t walk away.
Draco hadn’t seen me yet. The moment he did, he turned to the wall and spoke harshly:
“Granger. What are you doing here?” I could tell he was trying to ignore the fact that I had just seen him crying.
I didn’t answer because Harry came in. Clearly, he had been running.
“Mione.” He stopped to breathe. “McGonagall wants to speak to you.” He realized there was somebody else in there. By his expression, I could tell Draco was the last person Harry was expecting to see. Soon I discovered why. “With you too.” He was now speaking to Draco.
I followed Harry and we had Draco walking behind us.
Professor McGonagall was already in the transfiguration office although she was in her animagus form.
I looked around and saw Ron. He had also been running. He sat on one of the four chairs McGonagall had put in front of her desk and I sat next to him. Draco sat on my other side. The fourth student was another Slytherin. I recognized the other prefect. I raised my head to search for Harry but he was gone.
It took me not too long to realize that it was something just for prefects. Well, we all had been prefects the previous year, so I didn’t understand. And why just Gryffindor and Slytherin prefects?
“Well, you’re all here now.” McGonagall said, transforming from cat to her human form. “You must all – unless you already realize it, Miss Granger - be wondering why called you. You were always prefects last year.” She paused. “You did a good job.” Another pause. “Now Hogwarts needs you.”
Nobody said a word; we could hear each other breathing. McGonagall seemed not to bother with the silence.
“Hogwarts is facing a big danger now.” I felt Ronald’s hand on mine. He squeezed it gently. By the corner of my eye I was watching Malfoy. For some unknown reason, I thought he had something to do with that. In the other hand, I trusted McGonagall. If he was there was because he was trustworthy…right?
“I need you to be always careful. Hogwarts is a safe place, but we – the teachers – believe that it’s possible a student to bring danger into the school.2 she paused. “No student should walk alone in the corridors or any other place.” McGonagall was looking at us, studying our reactions. She only get a frightening silence.
“You understand?” we all nodded. “Good. Now, I’ll put a Slytherin working with a Gryffindor. You should act exactly like last year, and by this I mean, to do the same tasks you did last year.” Another paused. The teacher’s years turned at me.
“Miss Granger, you’ll stay with…”
Please no, not Malfoy, please. I thought. But I knew the name even before Mcgonagall say it.
“Mr… Malfoy.”
After that, McGonagall dismissed us.
